About Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm
One way to make sure you’re cooking with the freshest ingredients is to grow them yourself. Meriwether’s grows the produce it serves at its own Skyline Farm and is proud to be among only a handful of truly farm-to-table restaurants across the country. Chef Michael Delaney's menus are inspired by the Willamette Valley’s peak-of-the-season abundance, matching our harvest with some of the finest raw ingredients in the world, from the farmers, fishers and ranchers of the Pacific Northwest.
Inside, experience our warm and cozy ambiance with stone fireplaces, hardwood floors, stained glass and copper accents. Outside, guests dine year-round in the covered, heated & enclosed patio, gardens & gazebo. There is even an outdoor fire-pit, so perfect for a chilly Portland evening. Take a walk through our gorgeous all-season garden that surrounds the entire 2601 Vaughn Street historic building.

Meriwether's Restaurant & Skyline Farm Ratings and Reviews
Going in winter probably isn’t the best way to get farm to table fare, so maybe take this with a grain of salt. Speaking of salt, there was a LOT of it on the kale. It was about the level of a potato chip. The scallops were excellent and the salad was nice too. The price point was high enough to make one expect something pretty exceptional. I didn’t really find this to be the case given the stiff competition for creative awesome dining in Portland.
Seems like the service at this once great restaurant is no longer excellent - it’s not terrible - just not great. There seemed to be an attitude that we were an inconvenience. Also, no water was ever brought to the table, and while coffee was refilled there was an unawareness that we would also need to be more cream (one of my pet peeves: if 3 people say they’d like coffee with cream and you bring one tiny container of cream your guests shouldn’t have to proactively ask for and wait for more cream - instead wait staff should either automatically bring more or at least offer it).
Being a history and old house buff I thoroughly enjoyed just being in the house. The fact that the food was excellent was an added welcome bonus. My kiddo was with me and we both enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Sat by the old fireplace and it was wonderfully homey.
Wow what a great place! This was the first time and definitely will not be the last to visit this restaurant. The drinks were wonderful, loved the wild cranberry mule, yum! The food was top notch, cooked perfectly. Service was excellent as well. Thank you for such a great night.
Food was great as always. One of my favorite restaurants in general, especially in nice weather when you can sit outside. Today's experience was not a success though. Despite having had a reservation for months on OpenTable, we were told a party of 5 could not be accommodated in the dining room (ever??). We were given a combo booth/table in the bar that would have been fine except that one seat was facing blaring sunlight from the window, so we ended up crowding in together on the banquette. It was not comfortable or enjoyable. I'm surprised they didn't advise us of this problem in advance. In the past they've been very good about calling or texting when I had requested outside seating and it wasn't available, for example.
We had brunch here on New Year's eve and were absolutely thrilled with the food, service and ambiance. We sat downstairs near the fireplace. The waiter was attentive but not intrusive. We had Biscuits and Gravy, Steak and Eggs, Corn Beef Hash and the basic breakfast. All were perfect and tasty - particularly the Corn Beef Hash which sometimes can be very salty. We also had Bloody Marys which were prepared deliciously and a cranberry infused cocktail which in it's delivery was like performance art. Highly recommend.
We really enjoy the ambiance, service and atmosphere at Meriwethers. That being said, we won’t be returning ever again.
The prices are astronomical and the portion sizes are tiny, and I normally think portion sizes are far too big at most restaurants. There are so many great restaurants in Portland. Why would I waste my money at a place that overcharges? And this was at lunch.
By the way, the “chips” that come with the $24 fish and chips were soggy Sysco French fries. Disgusting. You should be ashamed of yourselves to even serve that garbage.
A beautiful place that has worked its way to the bottom of Portland dining.
We initially had a reservation in the dining room but went into the bar instead. We were confused by the drink requirement note on the menu and our server/host did not make things clear regarding the difference between eating in the bar during happy hour or eating in the dining area. The food was excellent and our server was friendly. Being from out of town, it seemed a bit pricey.
My family and I had a dinner reservation after a long day in Portland and were all very impressed. The ambience was great, as well as the service. I had a pasta dish with beef that was to die for, and the menu is all local and seasonal. I found the food and service to be fantastic and overall suitable for a nice dinner w/ friends, a date, or a special occasion. The outer appearance is beautiful and the interior felt cozy and romantic. The fare seemed standard for this level of quality, ranging from $18-30 depending on the meals. Would highly recommend.
I have been meaning to go to Merryweather for quite some time. I just wish I had gone sooner! I will definitely go again (and again). Everything was excellent. It's a great space; warm and welcoming. The service was excellent and the cuisine is exceptional. I will be sure to return when I am next in Portland.
Normally go to Merriweathers for breakfast, but this time for lunch. Even with reservations, we had to wait perhaps 15 minutes, not because they were busy (there were empty tables), but apparently for a booth to open. I choose the Tuscan Bean Stew, which was more of a soup and disappointing in quantity, especially for $22. The pasta and salad choices were better received, but still rather small selections. Server was pleasant, but had to ask three times for refills of coffee and for a soup spoon for my "soupy stew". The ambiance is very nice and have good memories of breakfast selections.....would go elsewhere next time for lunch
We were able sit “outside” for our Christmas Eve dinner. Loved watching some snow fall! This was one of our favorite holiday menus . The duck and sole dishes were delicious as were our soups and salads. Great selection of seasonal festive cocktails &desserts. Service is always spot on. Thank you for an elegant event.
The food, the service and the ambiance were all amazing! I had the eggs benedict and I would say it was the best I have ever had. The potatoes served with the meals were crisp and delicious. I would highly recommend Meriwethers for brunch! Can't wait to go back and try dinner or happy hour.
Four friends and I got together at Meriwether's for lunch and were seated in an area off the entry that was nice and quiet. Our waiter was helpful and prompt. The food was good and the atmosphere was very nice for the holidays. It's a bit out of the way, but well worth it.
