Meritage - Warwick Ratings and Reviews
Four of us went to Meritage for Restaurant Week. Our server Jen was wonderful, attentive but not overbearing, just perfect in every way. My husband and friend had the lobster dish, my other friend had the sliced pork dish which they are famous for and I had the mixed grill which is scallops, shrimp and steak kabobs. Cooked to perfection. We thoroughly enjoyed our night at Meritage. I have been going there for years and it's always a hit.
Second time to Meritage within a month. Returned because menu was varied enough to accommodate the hamburger proclivity of our teens while providing excellent fine dishes for the more discriminating. Seafood in creamy red sauce excellent. Kabobs prepared perfectly. Fish tacos the real deal. Wine and beer list quite good. Service on our second visit was "off"- perhaps waitron was new. Did not know menu. Attended to us in awkward time-inappropriate manner. Even my daughter, a new server at a senior living center, knew the server was off his game.
My husband I went here to celebrate our anniversary. I made the reservations through open table. I stated it was our anniversary and would like a nice seating area. When we arrived, the people at the hostess station mentioned our Anniversary...that was a pleasant surprise. Our table was one of the best in the restaurant...another pleasant surprise. Our waitperson, Kao, right away mentioned our anniversary and said our cocktails were on the house. That was really a pleasant surprise! Kao was the best! Not only a great waitperson, but such a nice, personable young man. The cocktails were the largest we had ever had and were very good. Our appetizer and meals were excellent.**We will definitely be returning. Kudos all around to Meritage!!
**l just saw a photo of the special beef tenderloin that I had. I had this special tonight, July 2nd. It was excellent, except for the leek and bacon bread pudding. Mine looked nothing like this photo and I now think something was lacking tastewise and looks wise. Mine was definitely lacking in flavor and looked nothing like their photo. Mine was very pale and did not see leeks or bacon. It tasted more like Stovetop Stuffing.
My only complaint, but does not change my review.
Hadn't been back here in probably 10 years. Remembered it as too dark. So happy we went back. Brighter than before. Food was awesome. One of those places where u loom at the Entree amd find there's quite a section and would eat them all. Service was excellent
Really enjoyed dinner at the bar at Meritage. Food was outstanding and the service from the bartenders was even better. Love the menu choices and can't say enough about the quality of the service. Had the Portuguese clam app and scallops and steak for dinner and were very pleased. Excellent!
Meritage is back in our line-up as one of our go-to spots. Fell out of a favor a few years ago, and recently have been a few times. TREMENDOUS. And busy - the manager is great. He hustles, checks on patrons, and took care of a small issue we had immediately. Great service and the food is exceptional. Highly recommend!
We have been going to this restaurant for quite a few years and always enjoyed it. They served quality food, especially loved their duck (no longer on the menu). My husband ordered a sirloin steak and it was inedible. They took it back but said another one might be just the same so he ordered the pork medallions which were smothered in sauce so it was difficult to determine the flavor of the pork. In the past the pork medallions were plump and flavorful. These were not. I think that this restaurant is now a place for pizza, nachos, and their big margaritas. It's no longer a place for quality food. Too bad! They still have a good wine list.
Great local dinner spot. Had the red sangria with a free tapas. Very good. My wife order the scallion risotto but it was a little to overpowering with onion flavor. You may say " you should of expect that" being scallion flavor but no, it was way to strong onion flavor. Other than that , the meal was good, service was excellent.
We had pork tenderloin and fillet mignon. They were perfectly cooked and the sides were delicious. We split an iceburg lettuce wedge and an order of calimari. Both were excellent. The service was terrific also. We were celebrating a birthday, but had no room for dessert or cake. We will definitely go back!
My husband I frequently cone to Meritage. It is one of our favorite restaurants. Chris was our server and she was exceptional. My husband ordered the area Bass but they had run out. She provided us an extra appetizer to compensate. That was unexpected and appreciated. Highly recommend this restaurant!
