A favorite, neighborhood gathering spot in the Desert Ridge community, MERITAGE, an urban tavern, offers a fun, upscale vibe with a contemporary, industrial setting.View Private Dining Details
Only complaint is they never are able to seat you when you arrive with your reservation. There is always a short wait and never immediate seating
The food was okay, the service was terrible. I could barley get out my order/instructions before the server was darting away from the table. I guess the chips and dip are “secret” on the menu. After asking about them, we got chips and ketchup...when asking again where are the “dips?” The server stated, you asked for chips nothing else. How are we supposed to know what to ask for when the actual chips aren’t on the menu but other Yelpers are raving about it. This experience comes down to poor service. Our server was not good, therefore the overall rating is poor. $200 later, I’m not hungry, I’m not thirsty, but I’m just not happy.
Was very nice. Good was good and service staff was excellent. They helped me with some dietary problems as well as the chef. Will be back again!
Tomato soup and steaks are excellent!! Top of our list whenever we’re in the area!
Food and service were well below expectations. $17 for a frozen hamburger patty on a cheap white bun? You would think they would at least try to put a little effort into serving something of qualify.
Some of the dishes came out cold and the service was very slow and not personable or friendly. Our waitress took our order 30 minutes after we sat down.
Good food and service - beautiful patio
Service was extremely slow. We ordered salads and burgers, took 1 1/2 hours to get the food.
Good food and wine list (short but good for a hotel) with good service. Also good with food allergies.
Consistently good Reuben sandwich.
Food was very good but it was very slow. Took almost an hour to get our dinner.
Food was superb but not enough waiters to handle the very full room. Food took almost an hour to show up and the waiter was completely overwhelmed and didn't have time to refill our drinks.
Service was amazing good was awesome maybe less tvs in the dining room but overall would do it again.
Great food. Watched some March Madness with some great burgers and an amazing Cabernet Sauvignon recommended by Jerome (our spectacular waiter). Had the Strip Steak the night before and it was the bomb.
Our waiter was excellent! Friendly, interesting, accommodating. When I expressed disappointment in my meal , he offered to take it back. I declined, saying the main item, a petite filet, was delicious, just did not care for the sides. When the bill came, he had taken my whole meal off!
Great atmosphere, service was at a good pace for the most part. Only one time during our stay were we turned away due to not having a reservation. After that, I used Open Table to make sure I had a spot.
Valentine’s Day. Ordered steak for 2. Way too salty.
Excellent service and food
The service was mostly above average. When we could locate our server, she was great. Everyone at our table ordered the filet. We also ordered the crispy brussels sprouts and the peas and carrot sides. We also each ordered a dessert - brownies and the valentine dessert. Unfortunately, the filet was the only item that did not taste as if it was prepared well in advance. The rest of our plates, sides and desserts were either stale, over cooked, or gelatinous. It was a disappointing meal.
Attentive service, quiet (most patrons were playing golf as this is a golf club estabishment).
Food was above average with a variety menu. Good for a quiet lunch with friends.
Really good food and service. The background music was really excellent.
The restaurant is located in a beautiful hotel in Phoenix. We had a great dinner, the food was delicious and our server was very friendly and attentive.
The chopped salad with pork belly was awesome and the meatloaf wrapped in bacon was a real treat as well.
Looking forward to my next visit.
This place has all the right pieces in place for a great experience. Our server was the same as our last visit and he's very personable and indulging. We attribute the "cut above" marks to his high level of care and attention to detail. He has great taste and made excellent recommendations. Everyone was kind and they presented the perfect marriage of fine dining and a light casual environment.
Over priced meal for food that was considered 'fair.' Ambiance ruined by large, noisy group in bar area.
I thought it was hard to find on the site. A few signs but illogical location. The interior was rather boring. It was too loud for me. I don’t want to yell all night across the table. The entree were average. There would be no reason to go back
We always love coming here. The staff is wonderful and always remembers us. Food is fresh and great. Choice of outdoor or indoor dining. Can't wait to go back. Loretta
Modified reservations when arrived and they accommodated with no problem. Great server Suzan.
Liked the food! Service was good. Atmosphere was not the same as previous experience. Liked the previous Merritage better!
My date and I thoroughly enjoyed sitting outside on the patio for lunch. The food, service and ambience was fabulous!
Very nice, laid-back place to have a good meal.
Service was extremely slow and underwhelming. Waitress was nice, but disappeared for 15 minutes at a time. Twice our ice team needed refill and she was no where to be found. We also ordered steak / pork chop (both are excellent), but she forgot to bring the rolls, when we asked about the bread she said she would be right back with them . . . you guessed it, 15 minutes later, after we finished our meal she brings the dinner rolls. By that time our iced teas were empty again, and she said she would be right back with refills . . . and once again, 15 minutes to get a refill. She never asked us if we wanted dessert, she just brought the bill and walked away.
We had dinner at the Urban grill on New Years eve. The service was poor and the waitress was rude and uninterested. I expected more from a Marriott property.
We will not return !
Food good. Service lame.
Upscale pub food and atmosphere. Can recommend the avocado toast appetizer and mussels
Great service, very accommodating. Glad we had Sunday lunch/brunch there while staying at Canyon Villas.
We were looking forward to our Thanksgiving dinner here, but were extremely disappointed. The turkey was dry and bland, the stuffing was mushy and had a terrible flavor, green beans were hard and not properly cooked. We didn't even bother with dessert. We wonder if they even tasted their own food. Service was excellent. If you are eating at this hotel, Roy's is an excellent choice, but not Meritage.
Tyler was the best server. Great attitude, attention to detail and made it a point to ensure that we were happy and had a great experience. Will go back for sure.
This place used to be an upscale steakhouse that had really good food and service. The adjusted to a lower key ambience and I think they hit a home run. This is a great place for drinks and watching sports after golf but also a great restaurant for the family and a great atmosphere. Love it.
Always a great experience! Love the staff!!!
We had a wonderful dinner at this restaurant. I had a wedge salad, New York strip steak, and apple strudel for dessert. My wife had the meat loaf entree. Everything was delicious, well prepared, and fresh. Service was very friendly, attentive and prompt. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone interested in a tasty dinner in a lovely location.
Lovely place with outdoor dining, but VERY loud inside. Over-priced at $50 + for a simple lunch. Probably a big hit with vacationing golfers. Right outside the Marriott Pro Shop. The food was tasty, the service was great. But I wouldn't recommend it for anything but a special occasion because of the prices, the abundant big-screen TVs and the noise level. It's really just another sports bar. Fantastic, if that's what you're looking for while visiting the area and/or golfing at the resort.
