Wonderful wait staff delicious dinner
Dinner was delicious. Upon arrival, the noise level was way too loud. It was very difficult to get a drink at the bar due to the crowd.
Outstanding restaurant. Great food.
Food was good. The waitress had a negative attitude. She acted like we were bothering her.
Always a pleasure. Great food. See you next year!
All good, food and service was excellent. Had a reservation and was seated on time.
The noise level is very loud. The combination of the din of the crowd, and the piano music made it very hard to hold a conversation.
As usual, our dinner was excellent. Great service and atmosphere. See you next year.
We started dining at the Merion Inn when we were dating, and have now been married 51 years. The food is even better than 50 years ago. The fried shrimp & scallops were large, tender and very crisp. Coleslaw and potato cup delicious. My husband's steak cooked perfectly and very tender. Lobster and crabmeat in sauce was too rich for our taste, but still delicious. Our waitress was attentive and pleasant.
Tables well spaced such that we felt comfortable even with covid. Interior decor charmingly victorian.
Everything was great
Always a wonderful experience! We love everything about Merion Inn. Bartender Mark is the best! Our favorite restaurant in Cape May
Excellent meal again at The Merion Inn.
Merino Inn has upped its game on food. I always loved the place for its ambiance, but now I find it on a par with the other top restaurants in Cape May including the Ebbit Room and PSI! Good work. Can’t wait until you reopen next season.
We had an an amazing dinner!
Good food seated immediately and good service
Also good drinks
Great atmosphere, food, drinks. Hidden gem in Cape May! Friendly staff
The waitress was really unfriendly. The food made up for it. I get it, the service industry had really taken a hit with rude demanding customers. I know this from experience. But if we were kind and patient with the waitress, that should have been her hint to be a bit more pleasant. Food and liveliness was fabulous!
This is our favorite place. Always great food & a great time. Sorry it’s closing earlier than usual - help and supply really hurt. Looking forward to next year.
The food is always good. Amy was our server and she was excellent. My husband is on a low sodium diet and she made certain the kitchen prepared his meal accordingly. My only concern is my husband is in a wheelchair and the ramp leading from the patio is almost impossible to push a person up -- and then there's a step at the end. If a person cannot get out of the chair you definitely need muscle to get access.
The staff was very friendly and helpful.
Food was unbelievably inferior.
The food was well presented and everyone enjoyed their meals. The service was quite attentive and it was a relaxed atmosphere.
Always a favorite when in Cape May. Adorable place, great to go with family. Can’t wait to come back
Always a reliably delicious meal in a classy setting.
The service was terrible. We ordered our food. Received it quickly. Big up charge for a potato instead of fries. We were there 1 hr. Waitress never came over once to see how our food was. The short rib entree was dry and small portion. My express short ribs never came with the horseradish sauce but waitress zoomed back and
Forth to other tables and was never able to even ask for salt. My dish came with a mini dessert which she never told us what it was. We felt because our meals might not be as large as any other table she did not care. We always order dessert or coffee we just wanted to leave. It was so crowded And noisy from people hanging at bar before being seated. Could not hear the piano player. We come to cape May 4 times a year. Always wanted to eat here but now was disappointed.
I took my friend here who was visiting from out of town. Everything was MAGNIFICENT. From the atmosphere, the food, drink, and service- superb! Kathy waited on us and was very friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. I highly recommend the merion cup, and the chicken francaise!
Appetizers and drinks were very good, We both had the Prime Rib. Although it was cooked correctly, the meat was very tough. Very disappointing.
Hostess unengaging, complaining about either the Inn or Restaurant being sold
The restaurant was understaffed. Our waitress (who was good) was bussing tables, taking orders, delivering the food. The restaurant was packed. Reservations were 1/2 hour to 45 minutes behind.
Food was amazing, try he best meal we have had in Cape May recently
Flounder is great any way. They make the best martinis in Cape May at the Marriott inn.
Charming dining! Old Cape May. Food was excellent and the atmosphere perfect. Very enjoyable night.
I’ve had better experiences at the Merion before. Reservation for 6:45 became 7:15 with empty tables a plenty. Bartender didn’t acknowledge our presence. Dinner was rushed and fish not cooked through.
We enjoyed our dinners and desert! Service was attentive and responsive. Liked getting carafe of water, allowing us to focus on conversations. We’re in room adjacent to piano so could hear it while still understanding each other. Looking forward to leftovers
We had a wonderful dinner. My shrimp were perfectly cooked, and the live piano at the bar is always fun.
Beautiful upscale atmosphere with piano bar. Great for special evening. Fine food and service.
Our party of four had a great time at the Merion Inn. We have been there three times this summer. It is one of our favorite places in Cape May.
We loved the service by our bartender Mark. I had two grey goose martinis and my husband had a wonderful Chardonnay. We started with the escargot wrapped in a filo crust with mushroom in cream sauce and fried oysters. Dinner was clam chowder and crab cakes. Everything was delish.
Delicious food, good service, quaint/romantic/old world atmosphere. It was a great night spent at a wonderful restaurant! Loved the piano playing in the background!
Great drinks! The prime rib was perfectly prepared, juicy and delicious. Server very attentive and pleasant.
Dessert selection tough to make a choice!
Enjoyed our evening dinner! Loved the live piano music and ambiance. Food was great. Drinks were tasty and not weak. Will be back.
