Merion Stuffed Lobster Tail
chunks of cold water lobster tail mixed with crab imperial, broiled in the shell
with Cabernet demi-glace and choice of sides
Ate outside and it was cozy with the heaters placed nearby. Food was quite tasty and service was great! Definitely recommend !
Always wonderful food. I had the crab cakes and my husband had the prime rib. Their drinks are generous pours. We are sad they are closing Nov2 nd.
Wonderful outdoor eating area! Very socially distanced and with great heaters. Fabulous cosmopolitan cocktail. The waitress was fantastic and food very , very good! And we thought there was someone playing the piano, background music, which was so soothing, but it was a recording!!! We will definitely go back. :)
Amid all that is going on with COVID-19, the Merion Inn still provides a wonderful dining experience in beautiful Cape May. Exquisite food, excellent service by warm and friendly staff, and on and on ...
The service was great but the dinner was not hot.
The food and Martinis are consistently fabulous.
A lovely place to dine, three of us had lobster dishes and one had steak, all were superb! Will be back.
Delicious meal and at a reasonable price. We got the steak and short ribs - both tender and cooked to perfection. We also had the risotto to start, which was a bit salty. Waitress wasn’t that great.
Had an excellent anniversary dinner at The Merion Inn. Seated outside where the ambiance was lovely—lights and heaters made it festive. Service was attentive, the clam chowder very good as well as the scallop appetizer. Our entrees, the duck and the swordfish, were also great. Just a very nice special occasion, not overly pretentious but enjoyable.
Waitress was horrible very unfriendly very short and unprofessional. The food was served cold!!!! My husband’s surf and turf dinner was not worth $50.00 should be ashamed to serve a plate that expensive and not even give more then two bites of lobster and steak. Would not recommend outside seating area very cold heaters don’t do much if your sat under the tent. If you sit under tent area beware you will smell dirty dish water from the actual restaurant. Be cautious when booking here not worth the money and waitress we had was horrible!!!!!!
They did a good job with corona regulations. Outdoor seating was very inviting and off road. Maybe some more heat lamps will be needed as it gets colder !
Very nice. Even though it has poured all day, they found a table inside for us.
Excellent food. We went when it was pouring rain and they did a great job. Awesome drinks. Good food and large portions.
Food came too fast, so request time between courses.
We would return.
With outdoor dining being the norm, we were not expecting much from the experience at my favorite Cape May restaurant. We were pleasantly surprised. They had table clothed tables, tents and pretty cool looking heaters. The food and service were exceptional as we would expect from our normal dining experience pre-pandemic. There was a nice stream of patrons which we were happy to see. We highly recommend Merion both during and post pandemic.

Wonderful evening. The food, as always, was delicious. Great service, and the outdoor seating appeared safe and well thought out during Covid times. Always a good and tasty time at Merion Inn!
We had a great experience! Food, service was great!
Only , we had reservation for outdoor seating and was set inside.
Great experience at the Merion Inn. Tables were spaced nicely, service was five-star, and food was amazing as always. There was a romantic feel and mellow music in the background. Absolutely love this place. Already planning our return.
Always an enjoyable dining experience!
The food as always was delicious. The salmon was the Best ever. However, this is the first time I have ever had the service NOT be up to par. The bartender was kind of miserable, the hostess wasn't very friendly and the waitress wasn't friendly. Maybe due to Covid, or the rainy day?
Food was good and the ambiance at night was excellent. Potato cup was phenomenal!! Would definitely go again!!
It was by far THE BEST MEAL & DINING EXPERIENCE we have had this year! (And we have had our home for 31 years). It has always been a favorite...but they even out did themselves!!!
We sat outside and the food and service were amazing. Great place for a romantic dinner.
Everything was delicious ! We sat outside, they had heaters and a tent. Lovely. Can’t wait to go back. Oh and the dessert 💛💛💛
Dinner with wife, children and grandson (who is very picky) was a hit for all! Even our picky grandson are every bite and really enjoyed it, we were actually surprised that he ordered salmon based on my past recommendation and he loved it! Early menu and express meals are a great value! Thank you.
Pleasant outdoor seating in October. Food was very good. Service so-so
Love the Merion Inn, can't wait for the piano man to return!
We thoroughly enjoyed everything about this place! The ambiance was relaxed and comfortable with social distancing easily maintained. Our server was professional with excellent recommendations for both our food and wine. We found both our dishes (duck and chicken francaise) exceptional and the bread pudding a delightful way to end our meal. Even though it was a bit chilly the heaters did an excellent job of keeping it comfortable. We don’t if the outside area was always there — but if felt like it and was truly charming!! Highly recommend this fabulous place!
Prime rib cold. Filet was tough. Waitress not friendly at all. Brought settings to us and set on far side of round table for four. Actually had to stand up and lean to get. No salt and pepper on table. Know service is slow but could still take time to be pleasant. Never once came over and ask how meal came out.
My daughters and I always eat at The Merion Inn when in Cape May, and this year we were able to do so in spite of the Pandemic. The outdoor dining arrangements were great and as always we love the Crab Imperial, one of their specialty dishes. I highly recommend The Merion Inn.
Has the feeling of a restaurant past its prime. My steak was good, but my wife’s crab imperial was mediocre. There are much better places to eat in Cape May.
Excellent food & service so thank you for such a pleasant experience!
Foood was very salty and over priced for the size of portions
We've eaten at the Merion Inn in the past and were always pleased but this time it was poor. We ate outside under the tent that was filled with leaves that had blown in. That was not a pleasant experience if you have allergies. I ordered the duck breast and it arrived lukewarm at best and very fatty. The two side dishes, squash and cheese and grits cake, were tasteless. Sorry Merion Inn we won't be dining at your establishment anymore.
We were greeted by familiar and friendly faces. The food is always excellent. Server was awesome and drinks were perfectly prepared. A great experience as always. Thank you for all you do!
Beautiful outdoor dinning. Food was good and so was the service.
The service and food was very good, my duck was slightly over done but tasty.
Our barman, Cody, was outstanding. Table service was excellent and food was outstanding. Amy was an truly excellent server. Food was excellent, will definitely return and recommend to others.
It was fabulous !! We are making it new vacation dinner go to!!
Always enjoy and especially pleased with our server. She was prompt with drinks, bread and very pleasant. She worked the entire restaurant and it seemed with ease. We had the flounder which was hot and delicious and the risotto and a wedge salad as an entree. All very good.
Only draw back was the heaters weren’t turned on and it was a bit chilly at 8pm.
