Meril Ratings and Reviews
We choose Meril often. It is easy to get to and we love the small plates which means you can try several dishes. The food is inventive and always good. The staff is friendly and knows the menu. Even when it's crowded, you don't feel rushed. The noise level is quite high and tourist ALWAYS seem to think they should entertain the whole restaurant. That can be annoying.
Wonderful new local place to eat. The lightening was really good and the space was comfortable. Our servicer was attentive and there were so many options for me as a vegan. Lot of options could of been made dairy free too if you have a dairy allergy. I look forward to going back and trying more menu options. Well done Emeril!
Surprisingly Bad. I ordered a cheese board. A tiny little piece of cheese was smeared on one small piece of bread on a very artsy plate with some nuts and berries and more bread ... I sent it back. I ordered the cheese board for the cheese. I replaced it with the deviled eggs which were delicious. I then had the jumbo shrimp. They were okay but the bowl was filled with a bunch of crab wastes which made it rather unappetizing. Next, a bowl of mushrooms. Way too rich and greasy. I was truly disappointed by the whole ordeal.
We were visiting in New Orleans, and had wanted to try one of Emeril’s restaurants. Meril really hit the spot! Our servers, Jared & Ryan, were wonderful. The food was wonderful. The cocktails were, well, you get the picture!
We are also happy to support someone who is supportive of his community and does so much for others. We will definitely be recomnending this place!
I love Emeril restaurants but was disappointed in the overall experience. The Pho on the daily menu was very sad (although excellent broth) and difficult to eat without chop sticks. Some of the prices on the wines by the glass were confusing i.e. $10 for a 5oz. pour and $20 for an 8 oz pour. There was a large party not far from us and as soon as they were seated all attention was gone from our table although the restaurant was half full by that time. Long waits for clearing the table of dishes and after dinner drink/coffee orders.
I am going back tomorrow night and hope it is better. Meril is a very popular restaurant and I'm hoping it is not only for the ambiance and location.
We dined their twice while at a trade show, this place blew me away for everything that they offer, I will be back for more, so much I did not try from the menu but will the next time.
The service we received was great, never wanted for anything and the waitstaff made excellent recommendations.
Great Job Meril, I will return:)
Pro: Great atmosphere, our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable.
Con: The food was very underwhelming. As a group we shared 5 different items and each seemed like it had great potential but wasn't executed properly (under seasoned, flimsy flatbread, pasta clumped and stuck together) For the price you can find excellent food elsewhere.
The server was great - very professional and personable. The food was good. Bartenders didn’t speak or interact with bar guests / diners and the hostess is rude and hung up on me - she looks visibly stressed.
Overall I’ll be back as the food is decent and the server was great.
Delicious food, great variety of choices, a wonderful blend of different flavors. Staff is attententive and engaging, and provides excellent service. We also have some food sensitivities and they were accommodating. We had so much fun and can’t wait to return.
Generous drink pours, hot crispy fries, best brussel sprouts, and perfect brick chicken!!!
the place was busy and loud. it definitely had a fun and vibrant atmosphere.
the service was good but not great. for this emeril's restaurant i can honestly
say for the first time i was not crazy about the food. for an 8 oclock reservation
with 3 items out of stock already--big downer. also the food we did order was
fair at best. nothing really stood out. prices were a little high but not crazy expensive.
if you want the best emeril has to offer, try the other 3 restaurants in new orleans.
especially delmonicos and especially for happy hour. great service! great food!
and of course great drinks!!!
I used to love Meril, but the last two times I’ve been there (in the past month ) I’ve been disappointed. Food isn’t as good as it used to be and service is terribly slow. We ordered the meatball and it was cold. We sent it back and received another that was hot, but dry. I’m very sad as this used to be one of my favorite restaurants.
I had friends and family in town for my baby shower and had booked a table for 10 people. I had two extra people in our party that I hadn’t planned on but Meril just rolled with it and got us all seated. Thank you for the accommodation! Then Emeril was there and indulged our requests to come visit with us. We essentially closed the restaurant down so everyone had the best time. It’s just the most fun atmosphere and the food is always on point. Thanks again!
We had dinner with friends and were pleased that we could actually hear one another speak. On the other hand, a lady at the next table was so close that she was partially sitting between my dinner companion and myself. We all ordered different dishes so we could taste more menu items. The Spanish Style Croquettes are scrumptious, the Boudin Tamale not so much. The Baked Shells with Lobster and Chorizo was surprisingly bland, but the Lasagna was good. The King Cake Tres Leches was EXTREMELY sweet and I personally wouldn’t order that again, but I DEFINITELY would order the Deep Dish Pecan Pie. It was one of the best I’ve ever tasted. The atmosphere was great, service was good and overall the food was enjoyable. I will definitely dine at Meril again.
