We tried almost every small plate. There were a few that were amazing. The rest were all decent but not as good as I thought.
The music is loud and not what I expected but fun environment for friends or group dates.
Service was fast even though it was packed.
It was too loud. Way too loud. Music needs to be turned down. And maybe play more mellow type of music. Hard to have a normal conversation with bounce song BLARING in the background.
We went here to kickoff my friends bachelorette weekend, the service was awesome, the dinner was great. It’s a bit pricey for the portions but everything taste amazing.
Surprisingly loud. Felt like a rowdy bar and not a nice dinner restaurant. Food was good, but small portions. I’d recommend the oysters though.
This was my third visit to Meril. This time was to introduced my friends to the awesome food and fun I have always experienced. They were not disappointed, and we are all looking forward to when can return again.
We had a girl’s lunch for a couple of friends celebrating birthdays. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed our time at Meril. We shared several dishes and everything was delicious! The service was wonderful- attentive but not hovering.
The food was fantastic and the service was superb. I was solo with my boys and the menu was great for us to try a little bit of everything. Couldn’t have asked for a better meal!
I was in New Orleans for a business trip and wanted something more healthful, creative and free of bell peppers and shellfish (I am allergic to both)--and I wanted something delicious! Meril did not disappoint! The brussels sprouts salad was out of this world and the beet rotini was absolutely delicious. I didn't give five stars because the first night the brussels sprouts had very tough skins, although the salad was so fantastic, I had my leftover for lunch the next day--although the past the first night was out of this world. The second night I didn't get the salad, but only the pasta, and it was a little bit dry, but still very lovely. I brought a vegetarian friend the second night who had the brussels sprouts salad and the mushroom flatbread. He really enjoyed it! The place is pretty noisy, and you must have reservations. I would totally visit again!
Everything was fantastic! Our server was great at recommending things and he was on point with service. The wonderful surprise of the flaming cotton candy was amazing. All of our small plates were delicious and unique.
It was easy to get a reservation and we were seated as soon as we arrived. The menu had a lot of diverse choices for different palates. Everything we ordered was delicious. The Mexican corn is superb. Everyone enjoyed the bananas foster diverge cake.
Service very slow
Waiter seemed impaired
Dishes varied between ok and awful
Many had obviously sat around becoming cool and over cooked
This was a pleasant experience and I loved the atmosphere the food and service it is a must go to destination
Great food and clearly the place to be - very extensive menu, would love to try it all!
The food was very good. We had two waiters for the table; I think one may have been in training because he really didn't know the menu or the beer selection very well. We had the Muffaletta flatbread, Gulf shrimp, calamari, deviled eggs, french fries, the meatball (and yes, it is just ONE moderately large meatball) from the snacks menu. The pastas should have been listed on the snacks menu as well (fettuccine Nero, saffron pappardelle and Meril's linguine and clams). They were tasty but the size of the portions was disappointingly small. When the waiter was told that it was my son's birthday, they brought out a large sparkler/road flare and a large cotton candy, a nice touch.
Amazing experience! We were very well taken care of and the food was delicious!
Absolutely everything was fantastic- the food, the service, the vibe!
The food was excellent. The Korean fried chicken & jumbo shrimp were out of this world!!! The lemon ice box pie was also excellent. I don’t usually leave reviews but the food was just so great and the service was great too! I’ll be recommending it to anyone going to NOLA in the future
My favorite Emeril restaurant in New Orleans. Love the small plates and cocktail!
This was our second time at Meril's and it was just as good as the first. Unique, fun and we brought our two girls this time and the loved it too!
The food and service was phenomenal. We will be back!
Fantastic food. Great flavors and combinations. Grilled carrots a little undercooked but everything else was great. Service was superb. cotton candy with sparklers was awesome!!
Great food and service, but a little too raucous this visit with all of the birthday celebrations. The cotton candy with sparkler with loud clapping/hollering was cute the first time, but not the 10th time. We couldn't hear ourselves think or carry on a conversation. Will avoid a Thursday/Friday visit in the future because of this.
Food is excellent! Service is great. Small plates make it so easy to share or try new things. If you get in this weekend don't miss the softshell crab tacos.
Merit offers a friendly atmosphere with reasonable prices and delicious food.
It was just ok. We had a party of 6 and ordered a mix of items to share and items for each person. Nothing was great. Nothing was terrible (although the “ribs” were bordering on inedible.). I guess we were expecting a lot more. The fish entree was the best thing we ordered, although the portion was fairly small for an entree with a full entree price. We ordered a couple flat breads which were just ok. The muffalatta flat bread was unique and good. With all the great restaurant options in New Orleans we won’t be back.
My time was great! We had the most amazing wait staff. Felix absolutely took the cake and was stellar. It was my friends birthday and he sang to her! He gave good recommendations, was gregarious and was very prompt and perceptive of our needs. The wait staff was very prompt, engaging and did a wonderful job as well. I loved the uniform style as well as the diverse staff. I felt so attended to and loved the experience.
The place is really nice, good service but the food, I was expecting much more because this place has the Emeril stamp on it. My shrimp had vein in them!!!! This is so disgusting. We ordered the devil eggs with shrimp, wasn’t properly cleaned and the flavor it was ok. I ordered the jumbo shrimp, only 3 shrimps in my plate and again, not cleaned well. Shame on you guys! My husband ordered the wagyu steak, not good at all!!! I can make better at my home. But the service was good, friendly servers and in the end they sent to us a treat because of our anniversary.
Great service, great atmosphere and great food. Seemed odd with as many great beers that Abita offers that there was only 1 available for such a great Local restaurant. Other than that thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
Great for gluten free patrons
The food was fantastic. We were visiting N.O. for the weekend and this was our favorite place we ate. Would definitely come back.
I had wanted to go to Meril since it opened. The food did not disappoint, tasty, creative, beautiful to look at. Service was a bit wonky, with a 20 minute wait in between one course, and a waiter who brought my husband's coffee but not my tea. Its possible we just had a distracted waiter.
Will definitely go back, however. In general it was excellent.
Really great spot to grab a bite to eat! Moderately priced so it's nice on the wallet while also getting a great meal.
Came on July 1 for a 4:30 reservation for our first wedding anniversary. I enjoyed the amazing, flavorful food and cool decor. We had 2 snacks, the fish of the day and candied ribs. We also had the street corn, banana cream pie and 2 cocktails. The service was very attentive and picked up plates and dishes as soon as they were emptied. Our server had a great personality and gave us a her real opinion on what was delicious. All of her recommendations were great. We decided that this will be our go to celebration restaurant and we’ve got to try to make it to a happy hour since the drinks were so good!
Meril is a wonderful addition to the New Orleans culinary landscape. The food is fresh and creative without going too far over the trendy line. The menu is well thought out with plenty of small plate options that are good for one person or an entire table. The deviled eggs are a must on every trip! The burratta and heirloom tomato salad practically melted in my mouth, it was pure heaven on a plate. Pure ingredients that were allowed to shine. We have yet to have anything that wasn't a home run at Meril. The staff is always attentive and the kitchen is bustling. They put on quite a show! I highly recommend this restaurant to locals and tourists.
Chef Will is adept at creating novel dishes with balanced flavor profiles. All items from starters to dessert are worth the experience. We visit weekly and are always pleased.
Great lunch at Meril. Staff was attentive, food and drinks were excellent.
One of the best meals I’ve had. Service was excellent. Drinks were great. An absolute home run.
We went to Meril with a group of 9 ladies for a bachelorette party to have dinner before a night of fun. The wait staff was impeccable, the foods and drinks were wonderful and overall it was just fantastic! They even brought out cotton candy and a sparkler to congratulate the bride. Couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
Our server, Danny, and his team were great. The food was delicious and we had a very enjoyable time. Love the menu selections.
