The food was delicious, the waitress was awesome, I would go back any day
Chef Darren is hands down the best in town!!!
Knowledgeable wait staff and interesting menu
They wouldn’t seat our large group of 16 because 8 were running late. In any case our group needed 2 tables. We asked to be seated at one table first but they said if they did that then they would cancel the second table. Where’s the logic??? Stupid manager.
If I could, I would eat there every day. I was in New Orleans for Mardi Gras so I got to eat there twice during my 5 day stay. The drinks are great and well crafted. I had the Mexican corn which is the best ever. I live in Texas so I have sampled many places. I had the candied ribs, the chicken, salted caramel ice cream. Love, love, love this place!
We knew it was the end of Mardi Gras so pretty busy with groups. But a 45mins wait for our food took the edge off our experience at a great venue.
Wonderful cocktails. And great vibe. Sadly, the food was not great. Not bad, but not great. The Brussel sprouts were not as good as I had hoped. (The sprouts at Johnny Sanchez and Luke are much better.) The sage pasta was okay, but again, not great. I did like the flat breads.
Casual dining with a variety of different food styles. Has a little bit of everything. Serving staff was fabulous.
Delicious food but high price point
It was good
Excellent as usual.
Inventive dishes that were all great.
Service is attentive and friendly.
This restaurant is now on my short list to recommend to others and to return to on each visit.
Reasonable price, good menu, casual but still has air of sophistication
Mardi Gras weekend!
I thought the food was good not great. The pasta rush was vinegary not creamy. The atmosphere is odd with the 80’s music. It’s doesn’t fit the environment. Nice space and location.
fabulous service, creative food choices
The server was so knowledgeable! The staff was very friendly! The appetizer was to die for the Oysters were so good! The only issue was the time to get our entrees out. It seems like we came at the time where they were at their busiest. However the would come to check up on us constantly. We did the Swordfish and Meatballs. The hit was truly the Swordfish special! YUM! Desert was worth breaking the diet for! Deep dish Pecan pie with salted caramel on top was AMAZING.
Overall great experience.
Used to love this restaurant. Our food took over an hour to come out, was cold, as was the manager’s “apology”. Never even returned again to drop the check (which he put on the waitress which was unfair to her). Don’t recommend and won’t come back.
Had a great experience start to finish. Attentive servers without being a pest. Like that. Appetizers came quick followed by the entrees timed correctly. Noise level was low enough you could hear the person across the table. Really liked that. A really nice restaurant.
It was a great place to dine. I loved the open kitchen and the casual dress of everyone. Our waiter was awesome. We didn’t feel rushed and got to enjoy each course.
Great food, great service, fairly priced. Accommodated my son’s peanut allergy graciously and with knowledge. Fantastic experience. Highly recommend.
I absolutely loved Meril! My fiancé and I decided to set a reservation after receiving a recommendation, and let me tell you we were not disappointed! There were so many wonderful entrees on the menu. The only down side was that I could not try them all in one sitting. But the Tres Leches King Cake is the dessert you have to try! Service was phenomenal! I would definitely recommend Meril. Can't wait to make a trip back to New Orleans to try it again.
A great place to go do have fantastic food and a fun time in New Orleans. The menu has variety of choices ranging from traditional gulf seafood and creole to Asian and Italian dishes. The portions were generous and the sides shareable. They have a fun way to celebrate special occasions with cotton candy and sparklers. It's located about 4 blocks from the Harrah's casino so it's an easy walk from many hotels in the city. If you're looking for a quiet romantic evening it's probably not the place to go but if you are looking to have great food and a fun time check it out The next time we're in New Orleans we certainly will return
Fabulous service and meal!! Will definitely visit again!
Food was okay, but nothing that would make me come back. Service was subpar - waiter brought my date’s entree 10 minutes before bringing mine. Never fun to sit and wait for everyone to be served. All and all, we both agreed that we wasted a meal here during our trip to New Orleans.
Great service with an open kitchen concept and comfortable seating. Bathrooms needed cleaning which was a little disconcerting and the food was good but average. Menu was priced for value. Small plates were generous portions. Overall a good experience and we would definitely go again.
We loved the food and service was great! However the noise level makes it hard to have conversation.
Another amazing meal at Meril! Always enjoy every sip & every bite
Everything we tasted was amazing. A great place to share and enjoy!
Absolutely LOVED everything we ordered (3 apps and 2 entrees 2 desserts). Highly recommend this place as everything was so delicious!
Odd flavor combinations. Food was beautiful but every dish had flavors we felt did not go together. Maybe we do not have a sophisticated enough palate. Great service and interesting murals.
Food had poor portions. Not at all what was expected.
Was seated quickly and food arrived in great time given the amount of people in the restaurant. Ordered the meatballs and chicken liver mousse with a No. 20 cocktail (gin, lime, cucumber) and had great conversations with my server. The kitchen staff was very energetic and made the evening great to experience.
Great food and great service!
The atmosphere and service were outstanding. Our server was friendly, personable, and knowledgeable about the menu and ingredients in each dish. She was able to accommodate our multiple food allergies, making several modifications for us. My son said the burger was the best he had ever had anywhere. The flavor on my short ribs was excellent, but unfortunately, the meat was tough and full of gristle. My kale salad was delicious though. My daughters loved the flatbread and lasagna, and my husband enjoyed his shrimp creole. The desserts and coffee were fabulous, especially the deep-dish pecan pie. This was a wonderful family Valentine’s dinner!
Went to Meril for my Birthday dinner. The hostess inquired about my birthday then neglected to pass on the information. Not a big deal it just happened to fall in a line of mishaps that became frustrating.
Overall the tuna wrap was wonderful and everything from there was littered with salt. Two items ordered from menu ended up “being changed” and one item was burnt.
Service started great then the restaurant got super busy and the wait started.
Perhaps on a none busy day the communication is better and items prepared without a rush.
So many places to go no need to try again.
Food sucks period
Appetizers was delicious, entrees were delicious. Will definitely be returning.
