Great food, location, atmosphere and service. Best overall meal experiences I’ve had in a while. Highly recommend. Will return.
The featured black drum was delicious, and I love their specialty cocktails, especially 62. Pimm's No. 1. Light and refreshing.
Everything was very good as well beautiful
Large variety of extremely high quality food through a small plate concept
Delicious meal with creative choices and we loved our servers..helpful, professional yet fun and informative
We went before saints game. Fo
Everything we ordered was great! Food came in timely manner
Great quality great service great food and delicious dessert!
Food was tasty, but the ticket times were way too long. And between the two servers that were assigned to us we managed to get poor service, and not very attentative.
This was our first time at Meril. The menu made our mouths water. We decided on two items and split them between us. Both were delicious. We will definitely return here again in the future.
Hostess could’ve been much friendlier but server and dining experience made up for her shortcomings.
We love Meril! Time and again, the food is consistently great!!! The Rock Shrimp tacos are always on point even for the pickiest eaters. This time, we tried the Sweet Potato Brussel Sprout salad - the best thing we ate all weekend!❤
Great food and so many options!
I went here with co-workers for dinner after work. I had seen this place many times walking and running down Girod Street and was very interested in trying it out. The place is very nice and the staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. The inside is acoustically very "live" and since the restaurant was pretty full that night, the noise level was very high. We had a hard time hearing each other at our small 4 top table.
The food was good, nothing was bad, but overall not terribly impressive. I expected more. The pricing is more budget oriented than at other Emeril's restaurants, but the portions are also relatively small. I expected things to be more flavorful. I'm not from NOLA, but I am from South Louisiana, and some things made me think I was eating yankee food.
Great dining experience!
Good place for a large group (we were a group of 9). Large and varied menu. The food was great! Stand out dishes were the rabbit pasta, special lobster cake, and king cake dessert. Be careful when ordering wine by the glass- everyone in our party got surprised on the bill by paying more than they thought they would. Two “pour sizes” listed on the menu apparently, but we didn’t look that closely. When ordering “a glass” we were all given the larger and more expensive pour, we weren’t asked which pour we wanted and didn’t notice that there was more than one size.
Excellent but casual - many different small plate options. Friendly Staff.
Always a Great experience!! Service and food is fantastic!
Very noisy. Lots of parties going on. xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
7 of us and we had all appetizers and then desserts. Awesome as always, plus weekend nights have more of a party atmosphere.
Amazing! I went for my birthday and couldn’t ask for a better time. Service was great on all levels. The atmosphere was fun and lively, which is nice to have since some more upscale restaurants can make you feel like you can’t talk above a whisper. The cocktails were great with lots of options. The Korean Fried chicken finger licking good.....literally. Will definitely go again next time I’m in town!
Fantastic food .........creative options
Very big variety
While the staff was efficient, no one was very friendly including the hostesses and bar tender. His restaurants are beginning to be more like an upscale TGI Friday’s than a memorable dining experience. I had a similar experience my last visit to the San Destin location. I will give it another try. Maybe it was just an off night.
Portions were very small, but food was delicious!! Great for birthdays, celebrations, etc. Beautiful restaurant.
This is the second time I dined here. This time did no go as well. Our mistake- we arrived early- and could not be sat for an hour and 15 minutes. Once we were sat, it took 45 minutes for our food to come. One dish came with the wrong fish. Everyone was done eating before my corrected dinner came out. The restaurant did not comp the dish or even a drink. It was a long night with teenagers in tow.
Love Meril. Food is delicious and fun to share. The service is top-notch, great!
Lots of fun and tasty small plate options. Good service and ambiance. It was fun sitting by the open kitchen and watching the chefs and cooks at work. Definitely recommend.
Great service. Easy walk from the convention area. Food delicious.
One of my favorite places in NOLA and my favorite of Emeril’s restaurants.
The food was amazing. The counter seating experience was awesome! Great team and environment
Great food and fun atmosphere! We tried several dishes and loved all - especially the corn bread!
We love Emiril and his cooking. Went to Meril after watching a video about the restaurant. Unfortunately, we left disappointed of the service, small portions and high prices.
Food and service were excellent.
We had reservations on 1/2/19 at 5:30PM and were in town for the Sugar Bowl. Wait time was non existent as we were seated right away. The wait staff came to the table and took our drink orders and quickly returned to take food orders. Service was great , food was wonderful and prices were reasonable. We will definitely go back and highly recommend Meril’s to our friends and family.
Another great meal at Meril! The service was a little off, but that's probably because it was New Year's Day. I'll be returning again regardless.
Food was excellent!! However, we had a pretty rough experience otherwise. We had a reservation and arrived at Meril 35 minutes before our reservation. We checked in and thought we could be seated immediately because less than 1/3 of the tables were occupied. We asked if we could be seated now, but the hostess said it "looked like our table should be ready" by the time of our reservation so we should wait by the bar. We waited and watched two walk-up parties without reservations be seated immediately. So, after 20 minutes of hoping to be seated, we again asked if we could be seated early. The hostesses seemed put out by this request, but seated us (luckily there were at least 25 open tables at this point). It was during happy hour, so we asked our waiter if we could order off the happy hour menu. He brought 2 menus to our table in the dining room. We ordered drinks and a flatbread off the happy hour menu, then ordered the rest of our dishes. The wrong flatbread was brought out, but that was corrected. Again, the food was delicious. When we got our bill, we were surprised to see the full price of the flatbread on the bill (for the flatbread we didn't order). They corrected the price but refused to give us happy hour pricing on the flatbread and said it was only for the bar. This was incredibly frustrating and not communicated to us at all, as our waiter brought us the happy hour menu and took our orders off of it. If happy hour is not honored in the dining room, as we understand is the case in many restaurants, that should be communicated. The manager agreed to honor the happy hour pricing for our 4 glasses of wine, but left the full price of the flatbread, which we ordered only because it was a good deal for happy hour. The price was only a $6 difference, but the way we were treated bothered us tremendously. While the food was great, I would not go back nor recommend it because of the pattern of poor customer service we experienced. Hopefully this was an anomaly.
Small plates are a great way to get exactly the right amount of food at the right price. Food is excellent.
My brother and I were in town for the Sugar Bowl and needed a late lunch New Years Day to sustain us through the game. Meril was perfect with their shared plates. Our server was excellent, with thorough explanations of dishes when asked, giving us time to order, allowing us to share a few plates and go from there. Ironically, his relaxed approach led to us ordering much more than we would have if he had pushed us to send in a "complete" order to begin with. Each dish we ordered we enjoyed, even those we weren't totally "sold on" to begin with. My husband was an early Emeril follower so I had previously eaten at all of Emeril's restaurants in Vegas and NOLA except this one. My brother was unsure about eating at a celebrity owned restaurant as he doesn't usually eat out as much as my husband and I do. I told my brother that every Emeril restaurant I had eaten in had been reliably good and catered to the "normal" person as well as the foodie, unlike some other celebrity chef restaurants I've been to. He enjoyed our lunch and the excellent service as much as I did. It was a WINNER for us both! (And on one of those "nightmare" packed restaurant days where service and food typically suffer.) Our only curiosity was that none of the "New Years Day Specials" were black-eyed peas, Hoppin John or greens. We better not have bad luck this year!!
Loved this restaurant during this trip to NO, will definitely head back. Incredible selection on the menu and it was hard making a decision on what to order.
