Keswick is one of the most scenic parts of the Lake District – which in itself is up there with the most scenic parts of the United Kingdom – and in the very heart of the town, you can find Merienda on the Main Street, whose food is about as beautiful as the surroundings. We offer wholesome, uncomplicated food in a homely ambience, and you can enjoy it any time of day, from a quality morning pick-me-up (We are serious about coffee and use quality Merienda's exclusive espresso blend from Darkhouse Coffee Roasters, Keswick) and hearty breakfast, to a range of delicious cakes and filling sandwiches, to a scintillating evening dinner menu accompanied by a range of fine wines and quality beers. Fresh, seasonal ingredients are the focus of a menu filled with British classics and dishes inspired from around the world – reserve a table and head on down.

Delicious meal and great staff. We were well looked after however we were upstairs and only 1 other table so would have preferred being downstairs.

The food came out piping hot which was great, however some of the food combinations didn’t really work. I feel like the management has changed as the food isn’t as good as it used to be

Excellent menu. I can thoroughly recommend the trout. Some unusual sounding flavour combinations but what I had certainly worked on the plate.

The food was delicious, the service very friendly and polite and it’s a lovely restaurant, not too noisy so you can hear each other talking.

Fantastic experience booked at late notice after let down elsewhere. We were so lucky to get in and actually delighted as the food, staff, and ambience were all brilliant. Definitely would recommend and we will be back soon.
