Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.
The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

A warm welcome from the start. After enjoying a pre-lunch drink the set lunch menu was fabulous. Great service and amazing food
What a wonderful meal. Everything was just perfect and the attention to detail is incredible. Nothing is too much trouble for all the staff and they made us feel very welcome. Will certainly return when next in London.
Amazing. We loved it.... the food was really special and the team exceptional.
Amazing experience at Mere from the outset. Very cool and stylish bar for a pre-dinner drink and then downstairs to the classy restaurant level. Uber friendly staff who seemed to care about every aspect of their role. The food was unbelievable....the dessert rendered me speechless! Definitely one to return to for a special treat. The only slight downside was the price of the wines with a Sav Blanc starting from £60 a bottle...maybe a slightly cheaper option could be added......that said, we will be back.
My first visit to Mere and I am sure it will not be my last. I started in the bar and had a relaxing drink and found the the restaurant slowly fill which was great for a Tuesday lunchtime. There was no pressure to rush to our table which was pleasing to see. We dined from the a la carte menu and found all our dishes to be very good, starters of scallops and pasta, mains of beef and partridge all with combinations that worked well, everything was well seasoned and the presentation was spot on. Complementary still or sparking water was a nice addition and by the time we had dessert and an expresso martini to finish service was over and we knew that a return visit was on the cards.
Excellent food and service. Very friendly staff and great to meet Monica and David and to have the opportunity to visit the kitchen
Really nice people, excellent value lunch. A lovely birthday touch for foodie daughter was a brief visit to the kitchen. Really attentive service without any intrusion is quite an art. Massive wine list that needs studying to get best experience from the spend. I wish the lunch menu for the day was put online..
Lovely experience. Great food. Attentive service. We will go again
We had an amazing time at Mere. The food was delicious, the atmosphere was just what you need on Saturday night and the staff was incredibly friendly. I would absolutely recommend this place and am actually looking forward to returning.
A fantastic meal, service and setting. Topped off by Monica Galetti coming round at the end of our meal. Highly recommend!
Absolutely fantastic experience. The staff were very helpful and recommended the best wine to suit the whole table. The flavours were amazing.
Expensive compared to our usual restaurants but a once in a lifetime experience.
Fab evening defiantly will return
Food great, service attentive Cocktails and wine thumbs up
Celebrating my partner’s birthday. We had the tasting menu with wine pairing. Really good, informative sommelier. Great to have the personal touch of Monica and David who spent time with all of their guests. They also ensured that my partner had a memorable experience for her birthday.
Impeccable service from start to finish. Delicious tasting menu and perfectly paired wine. Wasn’t a huge fan of the blackberry dessert although it looked very pretty. Meeting the chef topped off a great evening. Slightly expensive overall but to be expected with that quality. Highly recommend.
Had a great evening we had the tasting menu food was excellent service impeccable rounded off by Monica coming out front at the end of the service. Save some time to spend at the bar where Adam the bar manager is an excellent host.
We had the tasting menu. Amazing food! Service friendly and spacious table. Would come back for more!
Lovely food, explained what everything was...we were asked if anyone had any allergies before ordering. Service was just the right balance between solicitous and not overpowering from all staff. No complaints and would go back anytime.
Mere is ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Offering superb food, full of flavours and artistically presented, with a homely, high class service with knowledgeable friendly staff - Thank you Alex and Nico.
The Pork shoulder and Dulcey dessert were excellent quality and we loved them!
Fa’afetal & Merci -David & Monica Galetti
Thank you for a memorable day...
Linda, Pat and Sarah
Fantastic food, service & ambiance- a really treat
The food and service was exceptional and we will definitely be going back when we next visit London.
We had a very nice tasting menu on Thursday when we visited the restaurant. The food was generally very nice. I loved the bread and first and the last two items. I would have been happier if the portions of the main parts were slightly bigger.
We would be happy to go there again though prefer to sit in the front section where is more light during the day.
The food was disappointing, we had the taster menu and three of the six dishes were not great. Also there was too much use of shortbreadesque bases in 3 of the dishes and they lacked flavour. For the price we paid......not great at all. Staff were lovely however
Great experience and amazing food! Can’t wait to go again.
Another memorable visit to Mere. We had the tasting menu and matching wines which were, as ever stunning. The staff were friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. We shall be back again.
Just fabulous can’t wait to go again, only a matter of time before the stars arrive one after the other
Amazing Lunch Taster menu's are really very good, we had a lovely time and will go again.
A very good atmosphere staff were very attentive and friendly, the food was amazing will definitely go again
The atmosphere in this restaurant is relaxed and unpretentious. The staff are incredibly well informed and helpful, they are pleasant and efficient. The food is outstanding, the taster menu is good value and the wine pairings excellent. I particularly enjoyed the scallop dish and the dessert of blackberry parfait was like a piece of art. I would highly recommend this place.
We had the tasting menu. Three of the dishes were outstanding (starter, cheese, dessert). The other three were good, but not mind-blowing. My partner had the wine pairing and thought it was exquisite. I don't drink and found the non-alcoholic options somewhat limited. The two drinks I tried were very strong and fruity. I felt the ambience was lacking in personality. It's nicely done, but it almost felt "corporate." With some more warmth (including dimmer lighting), it would mesh with the food a bit better. The service was quite good. The first two dishes were rushed, but then it was much more relaxed. The price is very high.
Unfortunately, we had a really disappointing experience (which I cannot believe is the norm?!) and not being folk who complain, we were so sad that we had to. After pleasant pre-dinner drinks e were taken downstairs where we’d elected to have the tasting menu with wines pairing. The starter (Pumpkin Custard on an allegedly Truffled Sablé Biscuit) was genuinely one of the blandest courses I’ve ever been served paired with one of the boldest wines I’ve been served with a tasting menu (an Amontillado Sherry). To his credit the Maitre d’ took on board the feedback and brought two other (much tastier) starters for us to sample...great, we thought, a minor blip ably taken care of. Most of the rest of the food was really rather good; however, the delicious beef main was served on cold plates and quickly cooled down and the dessert was still frozen in the centre for some of us. That aside our biggest disappointment was the wines e we were served...it is no exaggeration to say that nearly all of them were a poor match for the food and then we worked out a possible reason: the same wines were being paired with the vegetarian tasting menu! How the same wine is supposed to pair with 35 Days Aged Roast Striploin of Beef and Chestnut Puff with Caramelised Roast Vegetables or Scallop with Coconut and Mild Curry and Wild Mushroom Pasta or even Comté and Goat’s Cheese is beyond me. We felt that we were offering valuable constructive feedback but felt that by the end of the evening the staff were regarding us as people looking for faults: trust me, we didn’t have to look hard and we are very experienced in enjoying high end dining at this sort of restaurant. I appreciate that he is not the Sommelier (I’m not sure anybody was deputising for the absent Head Sommelier) but given that David Galetti was working that evening and even served one of our courses to us, I’m surprised he didn’t come either to apologise or explain the wine choices which in sure he must’ve signed off on.
Loved the ambience of the bar and restaurant. Food was absolutely delicious. One of my favourite places I have been for dinner.
I went with my husband son and we all loved this restaurant. We walked through the door and were greeted by very friendly staff and David Galetti which was a lovely surprise. We told David we were going on to the theatre so he made sure we got fast service and we did indeed make it to the theatre in time. We weren't dressed as smartly as we'd have liked because we'd been sightseeing all day and didnt have time to change which we felt bad about but none of the staff made us feel we didnt belong which was a big tick from us. The staff are clearly highly trained and very attentive, the restaurant is very smart and stylish and comfortable. Last but not least the food was amazing and we didnt want it to stop! We tried New Zealand sparkling Rose and it was so delicious and complemented the food beautifully. We would live to come back! Thank you
We had a great time at Mere, the food and service were both fantastic. It is a bit more expensive but great for special occasions
Relaxed atmosphere and great food. Keep it up!
Lovely food just as you’d expect at a that level. Staff and service exemplary.
Fabulous as always. Our favourite restaurant and the we love the fabulous team that make diners feel so very welcome.
We thoroughly enjoyed our evening. All the staff looked after us very well. The food and wine were perfect. We will definitely go back to Mere when we are next in London and we will be telling family and friends what a beautiful restaurant it is.
We had an excellent dinner. The dessert was a bit frozen and hard. Overall the tasting menu we felt was good for money and we would definitely go again.
Quite disappointed by the tasting menu. I had seen the restaurant briefly on the celebrity chef programme and not surprisingly the food looked incredibly appetising. The experience itself and the signature desert the hokey pokey didn’t live up to my expectations. I found the whole experience quite average to be truthful.
