Spread over two floors, this Fitzrovia-based restaurant is the brainchild of Monica Galetti who is featuring as a judge on the BBC's MasterChef The Professionals.
The restaurant itself serves traditional, simple dishes that have been delicately tweaked and modified to Galetti's liking. Nestled above the spacious basement restaurant is the bar, which serves light snacks and an array of delectable cocktails.
Monica's husband, David Galetti, is in charge of the Front of House at Mere, using his years of experience as an expert sommelier to create a wine selection along side his head Sommelier Sandra that perfectly balances with the seasonal dishes on offer.

Wonderful evening, great food and ambience. Just the right tone of music. Relaxed and welcoming. Food was perfect, we had the tasting menu with wine flight, couldn't fault it.
What a wonderful night, left completely satisfied. Monica and David clearly care about what they have created making it a very personal experience. The service was top notch.
Preceded with delicious, vibrant cocktail and mocktail, my husband and I enjoyed every morsel of our meal. The wild garlic risotto was a good starter and was enhanced by the tasty crumbs. For our main course we both chose hangar steaks. Each ingredient of the plate was superbly cooked - really intense flavours, well seasoned and balanced. When it came to dessert, my husband appreciated each of his cheeses and my choux bun with chocolate sauce was a perfect end to a really good meal in a special place. Staff warm and friendly from start to finish. Worth the journey from Bristol and we look forward to visiting again in the future.
Lovely modern design and interesting artwork behind our table. My starter was a mushroom agnolotti with marmite foam and it was delicious (I am a marmite hater) and my wife had scallops that she liked very much. For mains we both had a cod with a "black curry" that was perfectly cooked and the curry was delicate not pungent, and again I really enjoyed it. I had an excellent red wine, a Barossa valley grenache called Youngblood, recommended by the sommelier. Pear and coffee desert was really good. I will certainly go back.
Meh. Disappointing. Tasting menu. Not overly complicated.
I often don’t struggle to figure out the best course as there is one stand out dish. Genuinely very course was off the charts and delicious. Top marks all around
Exceptional. Lovely chilled service but with the preciseness you’d expect. Stunning food. Great restaurant. Definitely be back
It was my husband's birthday and I was looking for good food but not too fussy. Weve had a lot of complicated food recently. Mere was just what we were looking for that lunchtime. Great that it was open on a Monday too as many restaurants are closed. We had the tasting menu and are looking forward to trying the set lunch menu or A La Carte. Good welcome from David Galetti and the Mere staff were lovely.
The decor is modern with clean lines. Vodka martinis were excellent though diminutive . The staff were superb throughout. The amouse bouche were great ..in particular the arancini. The pidgeon was beautifully cooked although the plate as a whole was uninspiring and tasteless. The rose veal was undoubtedly the worst veal either my wife or I have tasted anywhere in the world. We left it. The baked alaska and comte were tasteless. Overall very disappointed. We fare much better on Barbados and in Manhattan. Very unlikely to bother to return, Kind Regards, Charles & Penny.
Fantastic food and service in a lovely relaxed environment. Superb wine pairing carefully selected with passion and extensive knowledge. And the cocktail first off were great too! A truly memorable day. Thanks to Monica, David and the team. See you soon X
Excellent lunch. We ate from both the set menu and the a la carte menu. Standout dishes - pumpkin pasta with marmite reduction, black cod, duck with seed crust and the lime cheesecake. Lovely service. Would love to eat there again.
First time visiting at lunch time, my guests and I were very impressed, food perfect and service impeccable, great atmosphere, looking forward to my next visit
Mere is a lovely venue. Fabulous bar area on ground floor. Would recommend getting here early for an aperitif. Food was excellent. We had the set lunch menu which was delicious and great value for money. Front of house and waiting staff all fabulous. Nothing to complain about.
Took the vegetarian set menu excellent in virtually every aspect. Service attentive without being invasive and well managed.
Wine pairings good and knowledge of staff impressive.
Only down side was pretty gritty toilets (in the context of the overall experience) but this is actually too often the case.
Would definitely go back - in fact it’s already booked!!
It was amazing, one of the best restaurant I ever went.
We had a wonderful time and the food was fab. Our only gripe was the paired wine measurements (very tight) we have been for many tasting meals with accompanied wine and we felt rather short changed at Mere.
Excellent food, great staff who were perfectly attentive, good suggestions and explanations of food and wine. Overall a wonderful experience.
Second time I’ve been to Mere and it was just as good as the first time - fantastic food (we went for the tasting menu), beautifully paired wine and a great atmosphere. Staff were polite, professional and helpful. This place deserves a Michelin star and hopefully should get it this year. Can’t wait to go back again!
Fantastic 6 course tasting menu with wine pairing, excellent value! Would return in a heartbeat. Staff very friendly and welcoming
Very enjoyable: pleasant ambience and nice table by mirror to see what was going on in the restaurant. Service polished, and food as good as one would expect- delicious. Very nice to be welcomed by Monica, and overall a delight to find somewhere we would be pleased to revisit.
The pairing of wines to food was first class great food and service.
First time to Mere and thoroughly enjoyed the experience from start to finish. Great cocktails to start with and then food which was better than many Michelin star restaurants we have visited in the last twelve months. Service was attentive without being overbearing. Looking forward to going back.
Lovely people with lovely food - couldn't fault it.
Mere lived up to my expectations! Beautiful food, friendly and attentive staff.
Fabulous in every respect. Couldn't recommend Mere highly enough.
Mere is a lovely tranquil restaurant in the heart of Fitzrovia, just a short stroll from Goodge St . If you are looking for a special place to enjoy delicious lovingly created food, whether for pleasure or business, then this is for you.
Great service and food. We were slightly disappointed they were not able to accommodate a gluten, dairy, sugar free dessert beside fruit salad but otherwise we had a great evening and will definitely go again.
Mere is a splendid find and comes highly recommended. We found it on-line but did not realise how lovely the setting would be. A very plush and cosy bar for drinks and meeting our guests was perfectly followed by a move downstairs to the lovely dining rooms. Excellent quiet seat and simply stunning food with an excellent selection of wine. This is a bit of a hidden masterpiece and well worth exploring. I have nothing but praise for the food, staff, location, decor, comfort and price. Best wishes to all concerned. We will certainly be back.
Fabulous restuarant! Great menu options, beautifully presented with stunning flavours. The service was very good - efficient without being obtrusive. Definitely recommend for a special dinner.
Amazing food, the best we have ever tasted, very attentive staff, a thoroughly wonderful experience.
Just excellent in every aspect
Superb food & excellent service. Not the cheapest place but overall good value for money. Wine list had some very good wines at reasonable prices which was good to see. Will definitely go back..
This is the third time we've visited Mere and it gets better every time! Very friendly staff and superb food and wine at reasonable prices. There's nothing not to like about Mere!
Good location but that was about it. The food was ok but I've had much better at restaurants with cheaper prices. Too expensive for what was presented. Had a cocktail as well, 90% of which was ice. I've tried it but doubt very much that I'd return.
Absolutely loved Mere. You feel as though you are really being taken care of, such charming staff. We started with cocktails in the bar, before being taken down to our table. The food is simply sublime. We ordered from the A La Carte menu but the tasting menu looked very interesting and wasn't overly priced. Lovely ambience and completely unfussy unlike some other fine dining restaurants. Highly recommended. Wake up Michelin, it's to award Mere a star!
Portion sizes could have been larger and cheese did not need a supliment food was very tasty staff very attentive
Outstanding service and amazing food! Gluten free dietary requirements accommodated with ease too.
I absolutely fell in love with the place, the staff, decor, music, food, Monica herself everything was perfect.
We can not wait to return!
We had an excellent evening at Mere. Beautiful environment, not at all stuffy, very welcoming and easy to relax in. The staff were exceptional and struck a perfect balance between being engaged when needed and invisible when not. The food was exceptional; beautifully presented, incredibly tasty and every plate left me sad to finish it. We’re already looking forward to going back.
