Had dinner here with my son. Our server Steven was awesome. He obviously knows his wines, made it all very fun. The charcuterie was outstanding as was the creme brûlée. We also had the surf and turf, the shrimp were a little tasteless and the steak was very fatty on one end. I will definitely go back again but
will probably stick with the appetizers on my next visit.
This was the first time we went to the Mercy Wine Bar- it has a fantastic wine list. We enjoyed a flight of wines all of which we wonderful
The food was also terrific - the cheese plates are great as are all the appetizers and small plates
The service could not have been better or more helpful. To our surprise, a jazz band (my wife’s favorite) started around 8...
The place was hopping with quite a varied crowd from first dates to old married couples (like us), good friends, steady daters, even a bachelorette party.
Fantastic as ALWAYS!
Mike was a fantastic server, the Saturday night band (1942 or something) was clutch, and we had a wonderful experience.
This is my fourth visit to Mercy Wine Bar, and I’m always impressed. A very knowledgeable wine staff, excellent service, and live music in front of comfy sofas Thursday thru Sunday.
If you enjoy wine, food, comfy surroundings and great music (The 1942!!), Mercy Wine Bar is a terrific payoff for all of these attributes!
Really disappointed that beginning with the reservation the Mercy I knew for over a decade long is gone. The hostess ignored all instruction in the reservation that this was a birthday dinner for my wife and we wanted to see the performance. We were stuck in a corner and I never saw a musician. Nobody ever even said happy birthday.
The waiter was somewhat helpful but not able to check on us consistently. The food had some okay parts and some bad parts. The entrees were uninspiring and bland (beef filet and tuna steak) and the dessert was supposed to be creme brule but instead was a vanilla bean paste with a caramelized top. Inedible.
We have gone to Mercy Wine Bar for over a decade. I'm afraid this visit was our last.
This was our first visit but not our last. The waitress was so helpful in choosing both wines and food. There is an extensive wine list of all price ranges. We had small plates and they were very good.
Excellent wine bar, great menu. Great for eating dinner, or the wide selection of appetizers makes for a good happy hour spot! Great ambiance. Live acoustic music!
I got the table of my choice by the music performers which were fantastic. (The place was not to busy that night)
The server (Monica? from Houston) did an excellent job and did not rush me thru the 4 course meal.
The wine (from Spain) and the un-rushed meal made me feel in Europe, except I paid with dollars not euros.
The chef was having a good day and making everything perfect.
Can not wait to go back !
The service by Monica was just OUTSTANDING !
The music performers are great.
The mussels were delicious and I’ll need to order them again. Noise level was great for our catch up conversation.
Service was so-so, they sat us at a table in located in front of the Patio doors, every time they opened the door 100 degree temp. came rushing in. The wait staff bumped into our chairs several times on their way in and out. We ordered a cheese plate that was served in a bowl, very unusal plate to serve a cheese "Plate/Board" the great cheeses they offered were great!. Great wine list, loved being able to do a flight.
Music was great. We had a relaxing evening - was our first date.
The food, wine and service were fantastic. We will be back soon.
Great location, valet Parking on site, the interior of this restaurant is well organized, they had a classical guitar band that performed awesome that night. The menu is very European indeed, with an occasional American item. The fries stole the show, Parmesan truffle fries are the best in town. Food is delicious and the serving sizes are just perfect.
Wine list is generous as well.
Great place for a pleasant evening.
had no idea this place was here and has been for almost 20 years - tucked away in strip mall and looks tiny from outside but inside is great atmosphere with dining seating, bar and couches - so something for everyone. We did wine flights so we could taste things to pair with apps and then split entrée. service was impeccable - our server had only been there a month but was wealth of knowledge like she's been doing this for years. We'll definitely be back.
Mercy is consistently perfect for a wine bar with quality food. Not pretentious. Not casual yet not stuffy. Huge wine selection and servers are both personable and thorough. Dark, eclectic interior with spaces nicely separated. Menu has expanded and food terrific. A bit pricey but the new French owner has much better food than the original founder who owned Sebastian's Closet. We had our first date here in 2004, got engaged here in 2006, rented the whole place for a Bon Voyage party in 2007 (moving overseas) and just celebrated our return to DFW closing on a Plano home in 2018. Vive la Mercy!
Dinner with great friends. Their first time there and it was a great first time experience for them. We will all be returning and soon.
Anthony was fantastic--very knowledgeable and friendly. Great wine suggestions and service!
Great lunch place
We came here for the first time ever for our last date night in Dallas before we move out of state and it was perfect! My husband who doesn’t give reviews even said that he would go out of his way to give them an awesome review!! The food was fantastic, the live music was perfect and the service was wonderful. We will definitely be recommending and most likely be coming back when in town!!!
Fabulous food and service. Excellent menu items, loads of wine options and entertainment almost every night.
Mercy is a delightfully unique neighborhood gem. The food is very good and the service is as knowledgeable about wine and the menu as any place you might go. The web list is always an fun adventure. We always enjoy a night out to Mercy.
We had a wonderful time!!! Food was excellent, service was wonderful!!! This is a great place to go for great food and great wine!!!! We will be back!!!
Great service by Thomas with recommendations for wines. He knows his wine! Happy hour wines were great for $6. We had a wonderful light meal of mussels and flatbread and sitting on the patio was delightful. We’ll be back.
Band had a tough time with the acoustics but everything else was great.
Perfect in every way that matters.
Always a pleasure going to Mercy. Staff are friendly and very knowledgeable, whether you know what you like or need their recommendations. Music was great.
Great Happy Hour wine selection, free parking with validation, great food, take a bottle home with you!
Great food, quiet conversation and Ernesto provided impeccable service! Definitely be back!
Started out great. We had calamari which was amazing. Probably one of the best calamari I’ve had.
But the service was horrible. Nice waiter, but not attentive. Took awhile for the waiter to get our entree order. THEN it took forever to get more water and remove our plates..
The noise level was way too loud for a nice date dinner.. for a bar? Yes. Totally get it. But we couldn’t hear each other.
My wife and I decided to go there to do something totally different than the typical restaurant. My wife ordered the Mercy Salad with chicken and I had a cheese board and we each had 2 glasses of wine. Around $75. We enjoyed them all. Entrees are very competitively priced. None of the wines are inexpensive. Expect a 6 oz glass to be around $15. However, they have selections from all over the world and wine is a primary reason why people come here. Ambience for a date atmosphere is very good.
Delicious food and great wine at happy hour- great value.
A little noisy, but we enjoyed the menu.
Great date location. The wine menu is extensive and they have choices across the budget spectrum. On weekends they have live music (check the schedule) and if you can, get a seat upstairs so get a great view of the restaurant.
Halibut fillet with no sides at $33 was not a good value!
I get the mussels with an order of frites every time! My favorite. The cheese plates are also great. Great happy hour prices & huge selection always. Super knowledgeable staff.
Stopped in for lunch and really enjoyed it. Will definitely be back for live music
Guided well on wines. Dessert was great
Our waiter was fantastic! For the less seasoned wine-o, he was able to pinpoint exactly my taste for wine. The food was phenomenal. We had a girls night out and they split a meal for us and the bill without any issues. The music was a low key band - I almost wished they had had a singer for the band. It was all instrumental music. It wasn’t super lively, but the food and wine was great and it wasn’t too loud so my friend and I were able to chat and catch up before going out for the rest of the evening.
Great food, service, and music. Enjoyed a great cab with our steak for a reasonable price.
