About this restaurant

  • Great for fine wines
  • Romantic
  • Great for live music
Mercy is about the entire "Wine Experience". Mercy provides a warm, comfortable, cozy environment to enjoy your favorite wine or to try something new. If you are out to enjoy a movie or an event and want to start the evening with a glass of wine and a "little something"; or if you want to end your evening with a glass of wine and a dessert, we can do both. You can dine at a table or relax and lounge in one of several areas on a couch or comfy chair very much like your own living room.

Our name is inspired by the song "Oh, Pretty Woman" by Roy Orbison. In the second verse Roy "... no one could look as good as you.......Mercy!"

Mercy Bar & Lounge is the second of two locations, and our newest space is unique in that we have a full bar in addition to our large wine collection.

Welcome to Mercy!

Always good. Wish there were some affordable Italian wines on the menu.

Pains me a bit to have to rank this a 3-star since I used to regularly visit the now closed Addison location and loved the experience. And it's not like I've not given this location plenty of chances; this was at least my third visit. Even though it was mostly empty, service was very slow. Music was VERY loud. No happy hour food options and regular menu was somewhat limited. Atmosphere has a dark, "in someone's basement" (maybe not in Texas!) kind of feel--not as nice as Addison's. The balcony / patio might be a better option when temperatures permit. They also add an automatic 18% gratuity even for two people and claim that "a lot of places started doing this"; I eat out regularly and this was a first. Not really a big deal since my normal tip would have been higher anyway even with the slow service and they also curiously only charged 4.3% tax. It's just the principal and the overall feeling that conveys. If you have folks in a place like this not leaving tips, you should try to figure out what's causing that to happen (e.g. slow service, etc.). Pros: 1/2 price of all wine by the glass at happy hour and owner/manager was very nice. Both my guest and I determined that "the third time was not a charm" and odds are we won't be returning.

I used to frequent Mercy when they were in Addison, so I figured I’d give them a try at this location. Nothing like the previous location in Addison. The location is nice and the ambiance is cool. However, it stops there. The service was bare minimum. We had to ask for everything and track down our waiter.

For a wine bar there are a disappointing number of wines by the glass available. My friend and I ordered the cheese platter which was a selection of cheeses that could have been purchased at most grocery stores. My friend ordered the chicken schnitzel which the menu advertises is served with cranberry jelly. It was brought to the table with ketchup and when my friend asked for the cranberry jelly she got some other sauce that was not cranberry jelly. I ordered the pasta special which was practically inedible. Neither our server nor the chef could answer our question about why the chicken schnitzel had an asterisk by it on the menu. The server really did try to help answer our questions and brought the chef to the table to help, but the chef seemed completely disengaged and not at all excited about her job or answering our questions. I went to the Mercy Wine Bar location in Addison years ago had a great experience! My friend and I agreed that Mercy appears to have taken a real nosedive and that we wouldn't be back.

This has been one of our favorite spots, but given our recent visit will probably be the last. We ordered an appetizer and our server asked very simply if we wanted meat and cheese combo, while a bit surprised, we said yes. What she should have explained was that we were going to be charged for two separate appetizers and not just one. Also, their regular martini cocktails were by far the most expensive we've had and they were simply ok, nothing special. Again, didn't realize until we received our bill - this was obviously our fault for not clarifying, but we were quite surprised to pay over $100 for 4 drinks.

Plastic cheese wrapper in my dates burger :/ very disappointing. Flatbread was so expensive so I expected something delicious but it looked and tasted like a frozen pizza you put in the oven at home. It was so loud and distracting, they were playing Despicable Me and ANTMAN on the tvs?? Just not a lounge vibe or worth it for the price…

We enjoyed the salmon, cheese board, and lobster bisque. The wine was good, but pricing is based on full bottle price rather than per glass, so was confusing and felt over-charged. The bill got confused, with both parties being charged the other's ticket and having to void (which did not resolve on our accounts until almost a day later). Overall, given the cost, 18% added gratuity, and mix-up on the bills, we probably will not visit again.

We love this place so much. Visit a few times a year for date night. Bottle of wine and a good board, great people. Can't ask for much more. Thanks always for the memories!
