Enjoyed the restaurant week menu. Salmon was delicious
Way too noisy especially if you want to have any conversation!
Great service. Always excellent tasting food.
I love all the Blue Plate restaurants and I’ve been to all of them. This was my first time at Mercury and the service and food were both great. I appreciated the happy hour prices and menu selections were also great. It was, however, “bald and free” night but my friend and I who are both clearly follicly challenged had to remind the wait staff of our discount when the bill came.
In addition to the great service and great menus at all their restaurants, I will always be a faithful patron of the Blue Plate restaurants, because of “Bald and Free” night.
We had 4:45 pm reservations on Sunday, October 13th. We specifically made reservations here because of restaurant week. I ask about the restaurant week menu which had three choices when I made the reservations. I was told that they ran out of one of them, the short ribs. Server said that they didn’t realize Restaurant Week started that day and also that there was a Vikings game. I would say that doesn’t look good for the management.
I asked if they had a substitution and he said no. Asked him to check. They substituted meatloaf for short ribs. Not really the same price point or a very exciting option.
Slow service, bill was not correct and we won’t be back.
Vikings home Game day morning. 4 of us stopped in for drinks and breakfast. Very good food, and great service!
Very loud dining experience. Was not impressed with the lobster bisque - very thin, soupy consistency. Seared scallops were either on the warming table too long or microwaved - the texture was not that of something freshly seared. The steak sandwich was ok but not remarkable.
Our server was lovely and the staff seemed very nice, but the food was not worthy of a return trip.
Disappointed after making a reservation for nine people weeks in advance and the only table the had to accommodate us was a high top table in the bar area. Making a reservation for dinner I did not expect to be sitting on bar stools. It was 4 PM and the restaurant was not busy yet the service for drinks and food was very slow.
This is a nice restaurant with reasonable food prices (wines by the glass were a bit high). We had the duck and crab cakes. The duck was done correctly but the skin could have been rendered better. The crab cakes were not special but were good nonetheless. Wine selection was quite good and not there was not too many to chose from. Service was casual but adequate. Recommended.
Went to Mercury for brunch for my birthday, and I had such a great time! The restaurant has ambiance lighting, which still gives each table it's own vibe despite the open floor plan. The bar and the rail, overlooking the kitchen, provide scenery and the staff are extremely attentive and polite. The food presentation is some of the best I've seen in the metro for sure. Thanks again Mercury for everything!
Great food. Brussels sprouts were excellent. Great game day specials. Awesome bloody mary
We love to go to Mercury before Vikings games. It fills up fast, so get there early. SKOL!
A lovely meal. We all enjoyed our time here!
Good breakfast spot downtown. Parking was expensive and a hassle though.
It's a good lunch spot for the downtown business crowd. I've always had good food but it's the service that's outstanding.
We had a great server, very helpful. We had a group of 5 and I think that their food may have taken a bit longer so mine was done early and it was cold (grilled cheese/avocado & fries) when I got it. Otherwise we really enjoyed it and will return.
Salads were outstanding and flavorful. Great service
Had brunch pre-Vikings game. It was a fun atmosphere! Good beer prices, food was fast to arrive, and it was tasty. The waitress was pleasant and really pretty prompt with the crazy crowd pregame - she did great. I'd recommend for pregame. Will have to come back for dinner to see what "normal" is like there!
Great stop before Vikings game!
We love the Mercury Dining Room. Great food and drinks, lively atmosphere, and very attentive servers. Thank you Blue Plate.
Great spot for pre-Vikings game breakfast or brunch.
This was the first visit to Mercury for all four of us, and we were delighted to have discovered such a lovely place. Everyone was very happy with the service and the food was excellent. It was so nice to be able to sit in a downtown restaurant and have a real conversation. Normally, it's impossible because the noise level is so high. It allowed all of us to relax and really enjoy our dinner and each other's company. We will definitely be back!
Great good, but loud.
Service was excellent, food was fantastic! Chef Razi bent over backwards to accommodate my Keto friend's needs. Can't wait to go back!
I would recommend with the warning that at lunch time the noise level if off the charts. When I mentioned this to the the hostess she said, "this whole building is noisy," which is not true. I talked to the owners of the restaurant group that runs Mercury shortly after it opened and brought up the noise level and they said they were aware of it and were planning to do something about it, but they haven't. Apparently what happened is that they spray painted all the acoustic ceiling tiles white as part of the renovation when they took over the space from the previously failed restaurant, which severely reduced the sound absorbing capacity.
Nice hidden gem. Five people ordered four different menu items and all were very pleased. Will definitely be back again!
Best pancakes I have eaten at a restaurant! The power green scrabble was very tasty as well. My second Bloody Mary was too salty but the only negative in a great brunch experience. The Freehouse Kolsch craft was very refreshing.
do you have any frequent dining offers? I will be dining there quite a few more times in the next few weeks?
After ordering we waited 40 minutes for our food and when it arrived, without apology, it was cold. The place was busy but not completely full. Not sure what the problem was but probably won't return since I don't have time for two hour lunchs. Food, although cold was ok; nothing special. Disappointed.
Food is excellent consistently over many visits. Usually service is very good to excellent but today the place was pretty empty on the early side and service was really bad. I had to get up and ask for initial coffee bec no server ever appeared. Food excellent & very fast. Had to wave down server after always waiting for coffee and even to pay bill. The owner and manager should be super disappointed. If your busy have another server or host watch the table. Will for sure go again but hope this was a one-off. No excuse...
Fabulous service. Impeccable food. The sea bass with fingerling potatoes and camelized onions was great.
Service was ok ...would have had another drink had he stopped by.
Deviled eggs, Brussels sprouts, ahi tuna were good. Steak sandwich was ok.
It was a great experience for 10 friends getting together for dinner. Food and service was excellent and they put us on a private area. Very, very nice.
The food is just soooo good!! Service was on point from the friendly hostess to the waiter. It is quite a loud place so hard to go & have time to talk but worth it to eat the yummy food.
I will dine there again on Friday at 11:45. Looking forward to it, Vicki
Another excellent business lunch experience. Two guests who had never been to Mercury loved the food choices. Prompt service from host stand to table. Busy lunch spot, but still able to enjoy the experience. Thanks to Brit for always be a solid server. And truly a value-rich dining experience.
Great post-work happy spot. Easily made changes to the reservation. The happy hour specials were fabulous, whether 2-for-1 cocktails and tap beers, or food specials. Simply put a great happy hour without the fuss.
Great food. Have had lunch twice and dinner once. This last time a friend and I had lunch. I had the grilled cheese which was wonderful!!! My only complaint is that the sandwich was very difficult to cut in two and also pick up and eat. The chutney(very tasty), the avocado, etc. just squished out from the sides. I had to wipe my fingers and mouth constantly. I finally had to give up and cut it into pieces. This was quite difficult to do. Also you really didn’t get the whole taste experience with it in pieces. Should ask customer if they want it sliced in two and also supply a steak knife. I should have asked for a steak knife and to have had it cut. My “bad” here. The regular knife made it REALLY difficult to cut. If not for this, I would have given the food a five.
Overall my dining experience was great, but our waitress and even the hostesses seemed distracted by conversing with each other and not with customers. So much so that one of our orders was put in incorrectly and had to be remade due to a dietary restriction.
Our first visit.
The food was absolutely fantastic!!!
Our waitress was perfectly friendly and attentive.
We will definitely come back.
