Great food, drinks and atmosphere!!
It has the feel of a 50's diner, with a limited steakhouse type menu. Took some customers to dinner with reservations and were seated in a booth. I now understand there is a different atmosphere upstairs and downstairs. Food was pretty good.
The meal was excellant. Some of the best steak and rack of lamb we have ever been served.
Loved ambiance, great food, and Anna was the BEST server. Had the duck fat tater tots - amazing!! So great we came back for more after the concert. The wings are sensational too. Love ❤️ Merchants. My favorite Nashville spot. Thanks 🙏
Could probably get a better steak at Long Horn or Outback. Seriously, this was awful. You know it's going to be bad if it comes pre-cut.
All things change and now Merchants has too. My favorite short rib is gone from the menu and other things are too. No more valet parking either. With the cost of parking and the cost of a meal I think the changes may be too much. Merchants has always been at the top of my list to recommend to friends visiting Nashville but its fallen a few notches.
The location was spot on - right in the middle of the action of Broadway! Very fun place! The wings we had for appetizers were fantastic. The entrees, just okay, nothing great. I had the Johnny Cash chili which was good, not even hot. My husband had the gumbo which was average - in his opinion. We definitely would go back & next time might order 2 orders of wings!
Unique twists on the menu in a fun and well designed atmosphere.
Very pedestrian food. Best thing about it was the location. Nothing special.
Great food, atmosphere, and location!
Our server, Chris, was very professional and personable. Food was great as usual!
I requested a window table if possible when I made my reservation. Not only did I get a window table which was great for people watching, they gave me the best table in the house. Our waiter was extremely informative, right on target with food descriptions and very patient as we took some time to decide what we wanted to order. Did I mention the food was delicious?!?
If we had another night In Nashville we definitely would have another “great” dinner there.
Pleasant restaurant however no more parking nest door!
Great service and wonderful food. The presentation of the food was also worth noting. We plan to go back soon.
My family came to visit for Easter, and we decided to take a break from the regularly scheduled BBQ and biscuits and go for a different lunch/brunch. The duck fat tater tots were a hit! We loved them! And everyone had the avocado toast and I had a delicious salad with salmon.
Overall dining experience was less than stellar. There was a very limited menu which was very disappointing. The filet I ordered was cooked to my specifications but my wife's salmon was virtually raw, only cooked around the edges. The restaurant did prepare an serving of salmon but by that time we were rushed to make the performance for which we Thad tickets. Dessert was a rushed disappointment as well. All in all I couldn't recommend to friends that they spend $200 on such an unpleasant experience. It will be our last dinner at Merchant's.
We waited a long time after placing our order before getting our salads. In the meantime, we had to ask for bread--none was offered. The entree followed before we finished our salads. So after a very slow start, we felt rushed. The food was generally good but the fries were a disappointment. The pork chop got a rave review.
Service was great!
Food was good, but not great.
Loved the historical aspect of the building.
Washrooms could have been cleaner.
Beautiful atmosphere, dark with candles placed around the room.
Potato puree side dish and vanilla bean crème brulee were delicious with the biggest blueberries I've ever seen.
It was fun and lively, but being seated near door detracted as it was a cold night and we caught every breeze from the door!
We loved the food and the people watching since we had a window seat. Our only draw back it was so loud we couldn’t really talk to each other but hey it’s downtown Nashville! Everything is loud!!!
We ate at Merchants before attending a show at the Ryman, it was a great choice as the Ryman is just a block over. Everything was so yummy. we had the hot pimento cheese dip to start and it was great. I had the salmon BLT and it was delicious. Otheres had the pulled pork and they said it was great. we had one and cocktails and they were great too! we will be back.
Great meal, Awesome service, and close to both concert venues
The restaurant was all-around awesome! The drinks, food and service were amazing. Thank you for making my birthday celebration memorable!
Merchants is our go-to spot for dinner when we are in the LoBro neighborhood, whether we are going to the Symphony, the Ryman or just cruising the area. First, they take reservations which is mandatory when you are on a schedule and the food is delicious. Service is excellent. though the vibes are different, eating up or down stairs makes no difference (except for price)...the quality and atmosphere is spot on. LOVE the tater tots and mac and cheese. Our guests LOVED the chili.
Visiting Nashville for the first time, I researched restaurants prior to our trip. We were looking forward to having dinner here. I ordered the “larger cut” of prime rib, medium-rare. Instead of 1 large cut, I received 2 pieces of meat - one piece was cooked medium-plus, and the other piece was an end cut, which was well done. They should have just told me they were out of prime rib rather than try to pass this off! Very disappointed! Throughout this experience, our server was extremely professional and gracious.
Good local food and location was great, right on Broadway! It was a good break from the bar scene to step into a casual, modern environment. Food was outstanding with many southern options!
Service was great and most of the food was amazing.
Very friendly & attentive staff and absolutely AMAZING food! The Salmon BLT is to die for and the double cheeseburger is amazing. Had the duck fat tater tots with an array of delicious sauces and it was incredible.
Service was very good but restaurant was crowded and too noisy to carry on a conversation. No valet parking on the Sunday we ate there. Although advertised with a brunch menu, only two items came close to brunch.
Food was fabulous and the service was excellent! Would definitely recommend the duck fat tater tots especially.
Food was delicious, as were the cocktails. I tried the Duck fat Tater Tots, and they are as good as everyone raves about. This was a quick lunch, with reservations and there was a lot of activity downtown, so expect to wait on busy weekends without reservations. I had to change reservations due to the traffic and congestion and they were very accommodating. Service was very good!
I dined with clients at Merchant's Table, and we thoroughly enjoyed our dinner. Service was prompt and attentive, the food delicious, and the ambiance enjoyable. The restaurant is conveniently located within a vibrant downtown bar scene. I look forward to another visit to Merchant's Table the next time I am visiting Nashville.
Great food, servers, atmosphere and awesome drinks! What more could you want :)
We had the best server (Nikki ) and the best food. This was our second time, never disappoints. We will be back.
You have to have the duck fat tater tots and the creole honey mustard. I also like the grilled cheese sandwich with soup, had the chicken artichoke soup this time, I will go back to tomato bisque next time
If you dine on 2nd floor, its a beautiful cosy room. For someone who does not like meaty American fare, this place was a great find in Nashville. Great service and tasty food! Good for pescatarians
Visiting Nashville for the first time we went to Merchants for a special dinner. Rating a restaurant on Valentine’s Day probably isn’t fair but we have gone out to restaurants for the past 30 years with far better experience. The service was very good and the building is terrific. However the food was just ok. The Prime Rib that I was served was in two pieces that were thin cut and the truffle Mac and Cheese was very dry. The bar list was quite extensive but I did not like my manhattan that was over powered with too much bitters. It was not a bad experience and like I said, it may not be a fair review since we were there on Valentine’s Day.
Great meal, great service, right on Broadway. Highly recommended.
Atmosphere was more than energetic, it was downright obnoxious at times.....2nd floor NE corner. Granted, that is due more to group behavior at adjoining tables and not the venue itself, but this was a business dinner and the majority of the time it was difficult to hear.
