Jean-Georges brings a chic vibe to Soho at Mercer Kitchen, with a bright, airy café upstairs and a spacious restaurant on the lower level. The ambiance of the restaurant is timelessly stylish, and sexy, with exposed brick walls. The American Provencal menu features fresh and seasonal ingredients.View Private Dining Details

The food was incredible, but the staff was less than pleasant. Our waitress was not welcoming and did not smile at us at all, and barely even acknowledged our presence there. We were expecting much better service.
Poor service ruined the experience
The shrimp salad is outstanding
I was expecting great food in a nice place, however the food was just ok and the place was below expectation, table was located in a very dark and uncomfortable spot. In summary, not a value-for-money restaurant
The light near our table was broken. We were practically eating in the dark. We should have changed our seats. Food was good but nothing special.
A great night! Thank you!!
Das Essen kam so schnell, dass wir in einer Stunde fertig waren.
Very inexperienced bartender. Had to google a Bloody Mary recipe. Rude manger. Unprofessional. Unimpressed
I will never eat here again!!!! The service is horrible and management is non existent.
The food took forever to arrive and then it was cold.
Not coming back
Should be zero stars. Terrible service and mediocre food at expensive prices. How hard is it to make toast and bring it with the eggs, which were overcooked anyway. Way better places in the area. Won't return.
Very disappointing. At the outset it seemed fine- friendly staff and nice atmosphere. However both food and service were lacking: ‘baked’ olives would naturally be expected to be warm, yet were cool. Waiters attempted to serve entrees when appetizers had been ordered. One of the appetizers then took a lot longer than the rest to arrive. Once entrees were served, one of them was the wrong one. Drinks took time to come and were only served upon asking for them again. Servers seemed to be fumbling and dropping hints even away from our table. No apologies offered, waitress seemed at some point to realize things were not going well and stopped trying to be nice. This was a special occasion meal we’d looked forward to for months. What a disappointment. What’s happening to the place?
Arrived early on a Saturday and was seated promptly. My expectations were high since it was a JG restaurant. Unfortunately Mercer didn’t live up to expectations. Service was below average, with most of the food coming to the table at one time. Food was average, nothing special.
Terrific. Food, drinks ........ .. ......
The food was very good, however, the portions were on the light side and price was on the high side. We enjoyed the meal but not a good value.
I was disappointed with our brunch experience on March 3, 2018. The hostess tried to seat us at the worst tables in the house when we arrived. I had a kale salad appetizer and there were only about 5 tiny croutons. The waffle was small and thin, fell apart when you cut into it. My husband's burger was messy - way too much sauce. Fries were eh - average. The server was great though - attentive and nice. Drinks were good (bloody Mary and mimosa). I wouldn't go back.
Having been here 2 years ago, with horrendous service, but amazing food, I decided to try it again.
Upon arriving we were sat at a small bar table that was wobbly. I spoke the the maitre’d and he gladly moved us to a nicer table. After our waitress took our order, she disappeared, and it became a game of which busboy we could wave down, since our waitress seemed to have too many tables. Our water glasses were only filled upon by request, did not offer second rounds of drinks, and never came to check in on us during any of the meal. We were not given bread, and it took 20 minutes to get parmesan cheese for the pizza.
Mercer Kitchen, has consistently great food, a “hip” atmosphere, however it is still lacking in the service department. I unfortunately will probably not return due to the lack of service.
Good food, good vibe, service was attentive. Only downside was the downstairs area was very hot, borderline felt like eating in a sauna.
They have a gluten free menu if you ask which is helpful. Solid food in noisy but vibes atmosphere. Waiters seemed stretched but tried hard.
Great food, cute ambiance for a casual date or friends getting together. The hostess sat us in a rather uncomfortable round table in a corner that really didn't accommodate us well. We were seated elsewhere rather quickly and without problem. Waitstaff is really friendly as well.
My fiance and I ordered eggs benedict but the eggs were overdone. Also, the prices were too high for the mediocre quality and taste of the food. The server brought a complementary dessert to compensate for the overcooked eggs, but even this was not tasty. It was a relatively bland, tasteless chocolate molten center cake, with vanilla ice cream. The ice cream was also pretty tasteless. Overall, great atmosphere, great drinks, but the food is mediocre at best. I recommend avoiding this place for meals.
Outstanding food. Everything we had was amazing quality. Ambiance was very neat as well. 10/10 would recommend. Definitely want to go back for the chef's table.
Beautiful restaurant, good food... but service was so slow! We felt fogotten by our waiter.
Loved the room. Service was excellent. The food was interesting and delicious. Looking forward to returning. Memorable.
I love the mercer kitchen...never disappoints! the food is outstanding. the atmosphere is comfortable, fun, great vibe! always a great experience!
Great service, good food
The restaurant was very clean and nice. The food was very good
Need more vegetarian entree choices please !
While we enjoyed the food, I felt like we were treated as second class citizens. I informed the host that we were only going to be 3 instead of 4 people, so we were escorted to a low "cocktail" table near the bar. My husband complained that there was not enough room for 3 adults to eat, and so we were sent to another table which was also tight even though there were plenty of 4 tops nearby and which stayed open during our entire dinner. Even though it was obvious that we did not like being squeezed into this corner table, nobody seemed to care. I want to mention that we were not walk-ins, but had a prior reservation.
Unfortunately the scallops were very bland and the lentils were also underseasoned and undercooked. Adding more seasoning could have transformed this dish.
Outstanding service and food quality. Beautiful space. Great people watching. Loved every minute of it. The hostess that took the reservation was superb.
While the food was good, the service was incredibly poor. My water glass was empty for a very long time and it took over 10 minutes for our entree plates to be cleared. There were similar delays with dessert. It seemed like the restaurant was short-staffed. Also, for anyone with a nut allergy, please note that the veal entree had walnuts (no mention of that on the menu or by the server)
The ambience is nice for a Sunday brunch but the food is just mediocre. The location is super convenient so I will likely go back again.
They gave me two amazing dessert to compensate a wrong order
Excellent food with good service, but pricey!!! Great brunch menu!
I enjoyed our brunch at Mercer Kitchen (I was with my 23-year old daughter). However, there was plenty of seating upstairs, but they seated us downstairs. It was a beautiful sunny day, and I think that sitting upstairs in the bright dining room would have been preferable to sitting downstairs in the dark dining room. I thought to ask if we could move upstairs, but didn’t. I don’t know why they would seat us downstairs if there were so much room upstairs.
This place was recommended to us and we found out why..Great vibe, excellent service and amazing food..
We don’t get to go out much so we were really looking forward to this restaurant which came highly recommended. I’m not sure if our server, who said his name was Marshall after being asked, was in a bad mood or having a bad night, but he acted annoyed and was rude from the start. We ordered a bunch of appetizers including the artichoke which a few of us were thrilled to see on the menu. Unfortunately, it came to the table very undercooked. We had to send it back, which I hate to do, but it was very hard to eat. When we explained this to Marshall, he didn’t say anything & just took it away. A little while later, someone else brought over another artichoke, but it was cooked the same way and we couldn’t eat that one either. The other food we ordered was delicious-the carpaccio especially. We ordered a bunch of different entrees since there were 6 of us and we wanted to try different things. We ordered a couple of ribeyes, and asked if we could have it sliced so we could all try it along with some other food we had ordered. Marshall ignored what we asked after we explained twice what we wanted, and instead only 4 of us got steak that was cut up into fourths. There were 6 of us, so I’m not sure why he did that but he only gave 4 of us steak knives, and we had to ask multiple times for the rest of us which someone else brought over after we asked them. We asked for them to be cooked medium rare, and they came out very rare but some of us ate them anyway because we had already had such a bad experience and didn’t want to wait any longer since we already had the other food. I feel extremely disappointed because most of the food we had was very good and I loved the atmosphere, but the service just ruined it for us. Needless to say, none of us will be back again.
Our food was good but the waiter literally never came back to ask if we would like another drink over the course of 2.5 hours. He also spilled water on the table. I wouldn’t go again considering all the options in the area.
