Wonderful food (dessert included) showing accuracy and attention to details.
One remark: the lower floor is too noisy due to the wideness of the room and the large number of people accommodated.
Food was served wrong twice......and they made no accommodation
Went multiple times, but this time was special: we ordered the trumpet pasta, which we always order and let me tell you, this visit lacked so much flavor, aroma, and quality. Pasta was undercooked, ingredients were missing, and my tongue stung from the excess of salt. Previously one of my favorite spots in New York, but now on my black list of restaurants I will not return to. Very disappointed.
Always remains as one of my favorite restaruants in SoHo! Thank you!
Service has gone down here. Used to like it but the restaurant downstairs feels dated. Service was poor.
Really disappointing. Cold service, wrong order, over salty food, ripped seating... just not good enough.
The food was great but our waiter seemed to forget about us.
The wait staff made us feel a little rushed, particularly one waiter in particular who kept coming back to clear plates immediately when one of us finished
We went for restaurant week and so it was difficult to determine value (at full price), but would still be a reasonable deal assuming typical prices. We sat upstairs near the bar which was much quieter than the noisy downstairs, but we could still hear the "rumble" from below. Upstairs is also less atmospheric than downstairs. Nonetheless, these comments are informational and not intended to be negative (with the exception of the noise level). Too many restaurants today are very noisy - part of the reason for my "handle" "Misstheclassics". Also too many restaurants today have excessive unusual dish creations; there is a good mix here. I sense, however, that the bar might be limited. I ordered an unusual drink - which they could make - although the waitperson wasn't sure until she checked. However, from other info and sitting near the small bar, it seems limited. (Again just a comment.) I'm not into wines so I don't know if they have an extensive or limited wine list.
You can tell that this restaurant is old. Service was fair and the cocktail program desperately needs updating.
I might be difficult, being French(-Canadian). I went with two Japanese guests. Oddly, we found that the sashimi salmon didn't taste very fresh. I found that my steamed shrimps rubbery. However, the accompanying preparations for both dishes were very good. The rigatoni were good. My steamed hake was... tame, but, again, the sauce and sides were very good, surpassing the pièce de résistance. However, the lamb chops were truly excellent, of superior quality. Service was attentive, efficient, friendly. I found it a bit noisy in the basement, but probably because I was seating with my back against the wall.
Way too loud - there should be a way to add sound absorption technology to the space
Outstanding meal. Fantastic service. Looking forward to returning again to sample a different entree.
Fantastic ambiance for an anniversary dinner, food was delicious and staff was very helpful in addressing our concerns/questions. Wonderful experience!
Food was good. Very dark restaurant and loud. Service was really good luckily. Don’t know if i would return.
Server inattentive and unfriendly. Was inclined to be chatting w other staff at the host station. Food was all delicious. Preparation of salmon was completely different than the menu stated. When food was delivered we questioned salmon and were told they changed the recipe but didn’t have new menus. My friend liked the way it was prepared, however it was strange that this was not brought to our attention when we ordered.
Great spot in SoHo loved upstairs - downstairs is fun and trendy too!
Salmon entree missing any carbs or vegg - was surprised.
Bit too cold in the room.
Food was excellent, but the hosts were super rude. It is the first time that a host screams at me and were not nice to us. The waiter was very nice but the hosts (two girls) were so rude to us that i will never come back to this place. They were mean and i have never been treated that way in a restaurant before, i felt humiliated and treaded very bad.
Food tasty, as always. We were there a bit early for breakfast which meant it was less crowded-- so a good thing. The upstairs space can feel cramped, so fewer people there makes a difference. Service started out great and then went slowly downhill. I ended up physically chasing after someone just to get a check.
Come here for restaurant week. And there is a alive ant in my appetizer.
Amazing meal, especially the salmon. Just a bit too noisy; we were practically shouting at each other to make ourselves heard.
We come here often and have always loved everything about it - it has been my go to restaurant when I’m in town and want a bite to eat but the last several times the food has been mediocre and the service slow. We had to go order our own drinks at the bar because the wait staff disappeared after seating us. I hope this is just a temporary hiccup as it is so convenient for me to go there.
Chill, yet busy setting. Great service that was relaxed and not intrusive. The food was delicious ! We tried a fish dish, a vegetarian pasta dish, and a meatball ragu pasta. It was all delicious. My only complaint is that the wines are really overpriced.
Love the place. The food was excellent. The ambience was great. Great service. Super location
Great food great service
I went with a friend. It was nice but the food and drinks cost was too expensive
We had a RW lunch and it was superb!! My husband is trying to recreate the tomato watermelon salad and the grilled shrimp main course. He's a great chef but missed the mark with the salad. We'll just have to go back to the Mercer Kitchen to satisfy our craving. Best meal we had in the three days we were in the city. Loved it!!!
We went there at the time reserved but since it was a slow day they said the kitchen was closed. Why would you take a reservation then? Big disappointment. Spent $ 50.00 in taxis to get in and out from there. We can’t trust your app for future reservations.
Simply Great. Excellent food, drinks, and service!
We sat upstairs in the bar area a couple of nights ago for my son's birthday. We chose to stay upstairs due to the noise level downstairs. The food was very good, but we felt the service was a bit spotty for the prices that they're charging. The waitress did not take a drink order when we sat down - we had to flag her down and could see a few of the staff members huddled close to the bar area talking. My daughter's drink came 10 minutes after she ordered it. The waitress was perfectly lovely...but no one came to clear our plates between courses until we asked or flagged someone down. I guess sitting in the bar area they assume you're more casual?! The food is good, but oh so overpriced! Sorry...I love the location and ambience, but wish I could say it was "worth every penny," but NOT the case!
Mercer Kitchen has always been one oif my favorite restaruants to go in SoHo: the food is always fresh, light and delicious. Because they change menus seasonally, so you will always find a dish you'd like to try even if you go there often. It's a great place for friends to hang out and family get together. Incredible chefs and line cooks making dishes in an orderly open kitchen. It's fun to watch the real cooking action in front of you if you chose to sit at communion table seats near the kitchen.
Restaurant week 2019! Excellent food! Recommend to everyone
Burger was outstanding!
Delicious brunch. Happening ambiance with great food
We had a lovely time despite our server being mean.
I have been several times when visiting NYC. Good food, elegant environment, a nice break from the hustle and bustle.
Solid food, a go to place in the area
Amazing food and service
