A nice night out. Food was fantastic.
No rush dining. Great experience.
Two of four dishes were warm (ish) but not hot. Salmon was not so flavorful. Scallops were yummy as was the tagliatelle.
Great atmosphere and delicious food . Always a wonderful experience
Great food and atmosphere. Service was spectacular!
Great service, professional, effiecient, friendly staff. Amazing food.
Love this place!! Great food and vibe. Everyone will find something he/she likes in the menu.
Really good food. Pork chop is amazing. Some wines were not available. Overall it was very good.
Just too noisy. Get some sound absorbing materials on the tables and against stone walls. And the drinks are more costly than my pizza! Cocktails that expensive scream exploitation of the patron. And already too much screaming being done in that dark cavern.
Food, service, and ambiance was on point - great place for any date or group get together!
The atmosphere was amazing, the food was outstanding. I will definitely be back. Highly recommended!
Always a good place to eat when in soho
The atmosphere is contemporary & lovely (although a little dim - being in the basement). We sat in an area in which we could see people walking above us. Cool at first, which developed into a distraction.
The service was just ok. We had to ask for things several times. We ordered a pizza, which was expensive & small, but delicious.
We also ordered omelets, which were bland, small & unadorned. There was supposed to be cheese inside, and one had to be returned as there was none. There was spinach, but barely any. The rosemary roasted potatoes were ok, but had no rosemary taste, and there were exactly 10 very small pieces (c’mon...potatoes are cheap) At $18 - this was an underwhelming omelet. Iced coffee was $8...and coffee was $6...making this a $100 brunch for 3 People. I’m in NYC regularly, and don’t mind paying those prices, for a memorable meal.
Sadly, this made for a really mediocre memory.
Everything was so wonderful! Food was delicious and service was fabulous. Everyone who took care of something for us was lovely and giving. Thank you for a great experience :) will always be back.
They instructed us to wait by the bar to be seated. We had to wait an hour after our reservation before we were seated. Service proceeded to be slow and inattentive. Food was lack luster. WILL NOT be returning!
Great spot to meet a friends and catch up. Food was very good and there is something for all tastes (from hard core dieters to I can eat anything).
Excelente servicio y alimentos!!!
Loved our experience! Our server was absolutely professional and delightful. Seemed genuinely interested in making our dining experience the best. I would consider the menu to be “fine dining comfort food.” We enjoyed the warm olives appetizer, a burger with fries, the sea bass, and the pasta with veal meatballs. All were perfectly prepared and delicious! We didn’t get dessert, because we couldn’t fit in another bite! The decor was very interesting. The side of the restaurant near the open kitchen was more modern and the side that we sat was very warm and comfortable, with banquettes, stone walls, and candles in wrought iron hangers. Try it, you won’t be disappointed!
Unfortunately we were not able to get to our reservation on time, we called to let them know we were going to be 15 minutes late (so perhaps this is partially our fault). Once we arrived, we were rushed through our meal. The meal came before our drinks, one of the waiters spilt wine on the table and on me and never bothered to clean it up. Overall the service could improve. The food was a little over priced but that’s expected for the location.
I made a reservation almost 3 weeks ago
They placed me infront of the kitchen to a common counter table.
I am extremely appalled by the level of service that we experienced tonight at Mercer Kitchen. The food was good. However that was the end of anything good about our experience. Our server left in the middle of his shift, but the person he passed us over to did not once come to our table to check on us, offer us another drink or even ask about our dinner. Mark, the manager, was so Incredibly unprofessional and inhospitable. We were literally in shock at the whole experience. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone!
The Wait staff was very slow even though it was not busy and never checked in to refill coffee after it took a very long time to get the first cup, let alone see how things were going throughout the meal. The food portions and quality for price was horrendous. I expected way more for this Chef-restaurant experience and was embarrassed that I suggested it for a friend coming in from out of town.
Loved everything about this place.
New Year’s Eve dinner - everything was excellent!
Dec 31. New Yesrs Eve. We had a wonderful time!!!
Highly recommended !
Restaurant is beautiful. As it was New Year’s eve, it was probably a little noisier than usual. My boyfriend loved his crab salad and thought the lamb chops were exceptional. I am a vegetarian and though the selection was good, the food was a bit bland.
Wonderful experience! Despite New Year's Eve bustle, our waiter was attentive. Food was amazing - truffle pizza, sea bass, and veal were all outstanding! We also appreciated the kitchen's flexibility to accommodate our 2yr old.
The location was great, and the ambiance was good. Our particular table and chairs were not very comfortable - too low to the ground and not enough room between the table and chairs. The food was good but not nealry worth the cost. A standard burger and fries should not cost $26 anywhere. It was good but not any better than you'd get for $12 at a non-trendy restaurant. Also, it should offer more than one glass of red for less than $18, especially since the glasses poured are so little. Eight ounces of wine should not cost as much as an entree. The service was very good, however.
It was disappointing. The food was mediocre and not what I think of the quality of other Jean George restaurants. maybe this one has been around too long and is past it's prime.
Excellent service and speed of delivery. Food was delicious (I had a burger) and the coffee was strong and rich, just the way I like it. The atmosphere was excellent as well. Will definitely come back when I am in NYC again
Rather disappointing. The food was OK but not outstanding and there are considerably better meals to be had in the neighborhood at a similar price point. Did not really like the subterranean digs...the upstairs bar area is far more inviting. Oh and the drinks were pretty small too.
We are had lunch there. Omelet was fine, vegy burger horrible, pizza was really good so we decided order more pizza and ordered coffee and dessert. We got our coffee and desserts but no pizza. We were waiting for 15-30 min coffee was cold but pizza still not ready. When we asked waitress what happened to pizza she told us they are in transition between lunch and dinner so we have to wait. But who wants pizza after dessert?
I have been to the Mercer Kitchen a number of times and have never been disappointed. The food is very good, the cocktails are very good. The room is comfortable, cozy, warming ambience. The restroom is clean.
The service is aways wonderful. I would recommend and I will be there again and often.
Late breakfast avacado toast was awesome
The food was okay, just as we expected.
Service was super slow and food came out at all different times. The Meal was breakfast so not hard to make and tea and coffee came after meal.
It was extremely hot and the management didn’t seem motivated to correct the situation.
