Our best night at Merc yet. Cadence was our waitress and she was outstanding in taking care of us and giving us the time we needed to visit. The Somm, Shyamali, was also very engaging and we really enjoyed our conversation with her about popovers and other Dutch foods. The food was very good. Overall we left feeling that is was a great evening out.

It was good. Had a great time. Steaks were overcooked a bit, sides were somewhat oily. The popovers were really good! The music was lovely. It’s not cheap, we would return.

From the time we walked in the door, we were taken care of with impeccable service. They have a wonderful wine selection and the steaks were perfectly cooked! I recommend The Mercantile to anyone in the Kalispell area!

We have had many good meals at Mercantile Steak. This night was just a little off. My husband and our friend ordered prime rib and it was the toughest my husband had in his entire life. HOWEVER, when shared with the manager, he was very gracious and offered them something different, they had a filet and it was delicious! Don’t be afraid to tell of a bad meal, it can only make the restaurant better.

Our server was knowledgable and professional. The food was amazing. We ordered the calamari appetizer to start with, filet mignon and Bison bone-in ribeye. All dishes were delicious and cooked to our liking. The only thing we were not too impressed with was the noise level, but everything else was great.

Great experience! We celebrated my daughter's 18th birthday here and enjoyed every minute. Our server, Jenny, was helpful, engaging, and attentive. The bison ribeye and sea bass special were fantastic! Definitely check this place out when you are in Kalispell!!

Our party of 4 all had the halibut special. It was amazing with perfect portions. The music playing in the background, our lovely waitress, and the beauty of this restaurant all lent to a perfect evening for us travelers from Kansas City. Highly recommend!

We had a new waiter who apparently forgot to put our order in. We waited one and a half hours from the time we arrived (immediate seating) to the time our entree’s arrived. Then and only then it was because I asked for the manager. The food was amazingly good and once noticed, the manager listened to my complaint, was extremely helpful, and comp’d our entrees. He gave us free desserts which were wonderful. This is one of the “high-end” and high priced Kalispell restaurants. Customers should expect service as good as the food. I think the other servers seemed professional and prompt, so I believe this is an excellent restaurant. Their biggest fault was not supervising our waiter. Perhaps he needed help and everyone was too busy to help him. Maybe he was just having a bad day, but I expect the management to notice poorly performing wait staff and distressed customers. That’s on them this time. I may give them another try, but I’ll have to think about it. There are other great restaurants in the Flathead Valley. This is an expensive place and poor service should never happen!

First, the food was very good, hot and well prepared. The service was subpar for the quality of restaurant. Our waitress was friendly and cordial, but severely overworked with too many tables. Our biggest complaint was we waited just short of one hour for our food once we ordered! We were not alone. The host, presumed manager, hibernated behind the reception stand, only left his post to seat guests, and never went around to the tables to check on them nor offer an apology for the delays. FYI…this is my first negative post for a restaurant. Hopefully, it was just a bad night with things gone wrong at Mercantile.
