   The popovers and appetizer were great, but…what? No IPA on tap? That was disappointing. My steak was dreadful—so tough I couldn’t cut it and I left almost 3/4ths of it. I mentioned this to the waitress who only offered to let the chef know. Frankly, I think I should have been offered another steak—or at least a discount on the meal. The fries we ordered as a side were so-so. My grandson said he enjoyed the mushroom entre, though he did not have a rave review. This was a mediocre experience, especially for the price

    We always love our meals at Mercantile! This time it was an even better experience as they have added a wine sommelier! She was knowledgeable and pleasant. Great addition to our experience!

    Only thing I didn't like was the way menu is set up. No sides for your entrée. So buy a 50 dollar steak that's all you get, no sides unless you pay for them.

    Awesome food! A new favorite restaurant. David server/bartender was wonderful, super friendly and attentive. Everyone was actually great. The only thing that caused me to give them four stars for service was that our food took a little bit of time to come out because after we ordered our appetizers it took a while for the server to come back and get our entree order. However, as far as quality of food and the people it was definitely five star!

    We always enjoy coming down to Kalispell from Whitefish to enjoy dining at the Mercantile. It was an extra special treat going in to the KM bar after dinner to enjoy Mike Murray and Chris. Our service from Serenity was personable and very good. Our food was delicious and of course the Popovers are a plus to dining at The "Merc"!

    My prime rib was not hot at all when it arrived. Wife's steak was much better than my Prime rib. Also, prime rib was tough and very undercooked considering I asked for medium rare. Last time I ate their food was much better.

    Service was great, drinks good, popovers fantastic. Our (my husband and I) prime ribs: however, were quite hard to cut with lots of gristle, which I found odd and not appetizing. Very disappointing given that we spent over $200 for three people.

    Jenny was an excellent server and always johnny on the spot. We really enjoyed the entire experience. A mistake was made delaying a Filet. However they proactively took care of situation. The NY Steak was prepared to perfection. Im an Alabamian living here and elsewhere Im use to cocktail sauce with friend seafood, however, i must say their Calamari Piccata is excellent. Give them an opportunity to serve you and you judge for yourselves. Ive been twice within a month and will there most likely in 2 weeks.

    We dine here on occasion, but I will have to say it’s VERY pricey for a Kalispell restaurant! We’ve dined in many big city steakhouses with much more fair pricing, especially for bar drinks! My steak was undercooked and for $49 it should be perfect! Limited menu overall. No chicken offering. And EVERY time we go, something is unavailable on the menu. Never fails! Our male waiter was good and much more personable and kind than the female waitress we’ve had prior. Overall, I just feel this establishment wouldn’t be near as busy if there was more competition with more reasonable pricing.
