The special spicy guava margaritas were delicious! As always, the warm fresh chips and chunky guacamole are the best in town. We tried the new pork chili verde with homemade tortillas as an appetizer and practically licked the bowl - outstanding flavor! Both Mercado and the Taqueria remain our favorite go-to restaurants.
The food was outstanding and the service even better. Delicious.
Great food and great server every time!
We were seated within five minutes of arriving. Fish tacos and guacamole were delicious.
Great music, fun atmosphere, good drinks, excellent happy hour value. All good!
Disappointed that Mercado Taqueria has changed its menu and dropped the carnitas tacos in favor of nachos. I've been coming to this location since it was Maradentro and the carnitas were the highlight of the menu for me. It's always been overpriced and now that the happy hour menu has been revised and seems to be losing more items, I won't be coming back, it's not worth it.
I love Mercado Taqueria - we go there on a weekly basis. I just wish they would bring back the Dos Gringas tacos! Those were the best!
One of my favorite restaurants in the Valley. Everything is so tasty!
Lovely food and cocktails. Friendly staff. We'll be back! Thanks all!!
We've been curious to try Mercado Taqueria, so three of us went for dinner this past Tuesday night. Everything was great, plus we were there during Happy Hour, so we were able to order a few things off that menu, so we saved a few bucks. The servers were extremely friendly and attentive. Our food came up quickly and everything tasted amazing; the fresh blue corn tortillas are fantastic! Overall, we had a very favorable experience.
Been here a number of times and tonight may have been the last. They had me with good drinks and the chicken and shrimp tablita, but lost me tonight as they took it off the menu along with their fish special.
There was a family of four next to us that was equally dismayed about the menu changes.
The staff was also a mess tonight and seemed somewhat flustered by the changes as well.
Hopefully they’ll see the error of their ways and make the changes.
Best Mexican Restaurant in LA. Amazing! The ceviche Verde is incredible as are the margaritas.
Always love coming here. However, the music is TOO LOUD.
The BEST guacamole in town!!! And loved our server!! Great Staff!!
I have already been to Mercado and Maradentro a few times so I was interested in trying the taqueria. I knew what to expect but did not know how the menu would be in comparison to the aforementioned. It was good as the others and I would return here. It's pretty small inside so I recommend making a reservation, as we did. We came on a Sunday night and it was pretty busy.
For my meal, I got the fish tacos and they were really good. It came with 2 tacos which were plenty. The fish was fried and cooked perfectly and the tacos had a great amount of sauce. I also ordered a side of black refried beans which were creamy and well seasoned. My girlfriend got the Al Pastor Gringas (Tamales) and ordered the street corn as well. She loved her order.
The restaurant has a lively atmosphere. There are a lot of cool pictures of lucha libre wrestlers and the music was nice. They played hip hop and contemporary music. It was a good representation of some the nightlife that is on Ventura.
I would definitely reccommend this place and my only real issue is the parking and space of the restaurant. It's not too small but can get cramped in there.
Ordered the fish tacos, which were light and tasty. Husband ordered the carnitas which was huge and definitely a platter for 2 maybe 3 people to share. Absolutely delicious as well. We will definitely return to to try other items on the menu!
Their carnitas plate is the bomb! Their guacamole is amazing. Chips are hot and freshly made and salty!! Perfection!
This is our favorite local place to go! There is no better guacamole and chips anywhere! Service fantastic, drinks great and Chris makes a point to come over to tables and greet people and make sure they’re pleased with their food. We love it! Our waiter was fantastic, too!!!!
Outstanding customer service. We had a reservation at 830pm and we showed up at 815. A table was t available and they apologized. 5 minutes went by no table and they apologized for no table. So it’s now 830, the time of our reservation, and they said they were clearing a table for us to sit. We sit at 832, 2 minutes past our time, and they apologize again and then bring us a complimentary ap. Really???!! We’re early, that sit us at our time, they apologized and we get an appetizer. Then they food was outstanding and the service was excellent. Will continue to go back
Tacos bland and clunky
I love this place. Their food is delicious and affordable and the the scene is great. Casual and Fun.
Some of the best tacos in town.
Fabulous dining experience. I follow Mercado on Instagram and the photos lured me in to try. We had a lovely time dining and the food was exceptional.
Owner is a bit stiff with menu and bar options regarding what can be mixed with what, food wise... and get some “Squirt” soda for making shandy’s and offer better options for people that don’t drink alcohol!
Other than that, this place is great as are the “on the floor” people that run it daily.
Great food, nice service.
Enjoy this local gem
Great food, great service and an overall great experience.
We love this place! Josh, the manager knows who comes frequently and always does a little something extra special. And, Chris who was there the last time, stopped by to say “hi” and we actually talked about opening more of these incredible restaurants. We need one in Palm Desert! There’s nothing like this place! Our server, Phil, was funny and so attentive. Overall, our experience was a “10” !!!!
The service was very good and super quick. The drinks were tasty, but on the weak side; for the price, I think they could provide a higher end tequila without charging additional.
Loved the guac and chips but the ground beef taco was SO salty! Drinks took forever to come and mine was a bit diluted, as if it had been sitting around for a while before it came to the table. Waiter was friendly but I felt the service was slow. I might be willing to give it another try....maybe for drinks and appetizers at the bar. The ambiance was nice. Would I recommend to a friend?? Probably not.
Excellent food and friendly/professional staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. I highly recommend the lobster and fish tacos.
I am a big Mercado fan and the taqueria is the undiscovered secret. Awesome food and even better drinks and service. Best Mexican food in So. Cal so check it out when you’re cruising Ventura blvd.
great Food, Great service
We love it and keep coming back
the food wasn't great. all the "fresh fish" dishes were deep fried, which makes me think they're hiding something. the meat dishes were smothered in sauce
Very expensive for Mexican food!
So delicious and so much fun! I would go back in an instant. The drinks were great, the tacos were terrific, and the atmosphere was fun.
We love this restaurant!!! Everyone there is so welcoming. Josh could not be more on top of what’s going on. He’s greeting, he’s making sure everyone is happy with their food, he’s truly an asset! We will continue to frequent this wonderful place!
The drinks were disgusting.
The food is amazing...hot handmade tortillas and guacamole where some of the best I have ever had.
It is tapas style so no large portions but order to share. We were in the room off the bar which was quieter and better for conversation. Definitely recommend.
Great food, amazing tacos, Michellada to die for!
Food tasted good, but is on the pricey side and the portions are small. Drinks are a bit pricey too. If I'm paying $15 for a small margarita I should have the option of having it blended. Booth and table felt crowded when food arrived. Asked waiter for both corn and flour tortillas but he still just brought flour. My date didn't want to make a fuss so we left it alone. Glad I got to try the place out, but probably won't be back.
Roberto makes the best drinks!
Best fish tacos I have ever had. Also love the Cahuenga Cucumber salad. Service is always great. Only negative for me is the high noise level. But willing to put up with it for the great food. I realize many people don't mind a lot of noise. Very popular place. Parking was a bit of a challenge if you don't like Valet parking (which I don't) but I see why it is offered. I had to park 3 blocks away. Food is excellent though so it is a trade-off.
