Mercadito, located at the Red Rock Casino in Las Vegas, is a Mexican restaurant and cocktail bar that is well suited for groups or an adult night out. Start the night off with some home-made tortilla chips and a salsa sampler, the tortilla soup or the roasted corn cob covered with chile and cotija cheese. Enjoy a main course of espada or carne asada tacos. Try Mercadito's carnitas hash or the camaron ceviche. Happy hour and specials change often so be sure to ask what is on the menu.
Mercadito offers many types of drinks to quench your thirst and complement the meal. The weekend brunch menu offers all-you-can-drink mimosas.
Outstanding menu that is unique and stands out from anything else available in Las Vegas.
Great service. Food and drinks were awesome! We will definitely be back!
The long and short is that the food was very good and the place is very nice, but it is greatly overpriced. We can get food just as good at The Flaming Fajita at about half the price. We will not return.
We had a reservation for 7:00 but decided to go in early. They would have been happy to seat us at that hour but we opted to sit in the bar so we could watch the NFL game. If you're looking for combo plates, enchiladas, tamales, and that sort of traditional Mex/American food, you're in the wrong place. We had excellent salsa, guac, and several types of different and delicious tacos. It was a perfect amount of food that was really tasty. We also enjoyed a few house margaritas...also very good.
I like that they take reservations, the outside area looked really fun & we will go back to try that when warmer. The food was fun, very different & has small plate options which we liked. We would like to try it again when it is not so crazy, we went on December 25 before a movie.
Service was exceptional! Xavier our server was well informed about the menu and made wonderful Taco & Cocktail recommendations for our first visit here. We ordered a selection of tacos and all of them were delicious. Highly recommended the surf and turf and shrimp tacos. Husband had the pork belly tacos and like the shrimp better. All were flavored very well and extremely tasty. Only down side to our visit is We ordered the fundio cheese dip that we were less than impressive- it was more like warm string cheese with small tortillas. Overall, we were extremely pleased with our first visit to this restaurant and will be back again.
So sorry this restaurant is closing. We loved the creative food selections. It was our favorite place to meet friends.
Firstly, the selection of elevated tacos is outstanding- over my past few visits I've tried at least six from the menu, myself...and then there's the "off the menu" options. Strongly recommend you ask the wait-staff what's "also" available. One of those, a Sea Bass taco, brought together ingredients you'd never imagine combining together. BEST TACO I'VE EVER HAD! Also, you MUST order their guacamole. The chef insists on only grade 1 avocados and the result is the freshest, most delicious guacamole. I know this because after complimenting the food to the busboy, he offered to bring out the chef, who was more than happy to engage with us and discuss his philosophy. Goes without saying, my wife and I will be going back soon and often. Love Mercadito!
I went there with my family (party of 6) for a thanksgiving dinner because we got an e-mail advertisement that said they were having a Thanksgiving dinner. When me and my family got there we waited 30 min despite having reservations, next the waiter who looked over worked and not so happy with an bad attitude told us they had ran out of turkey and not serving thanksgiving dinner. We we're so bummed but stayed. I got enchiladas "Christmas style" meaning both type of sauces green and red. Bad idea cause it messed up my stomach. A lot of my family got the flautas. I tasted them. Food was mediocre. Nothing special . It was a nice ambience though. Great music. I'd definitely would not recommend it to anyone or go back.
On the pricey side, expected. Ordered the shrimp (camerones) enchiladas, got maybe 3 or 4 small shrimp. Also ordered the Langosta (said lobster) enchiladas, looked like langostinas not Lobster. Place is now permanently closed and now a different establishment.
If you like eclectic tex-mex, this is your spot. One of the best restaurants in Las Vegas. Food is top notch, service is outstanding. Highly recommended!
Was promptly seated by hostess, waitress came over immediately introducing herself asking was this our first time visiting the restaurant. She suggested the special and assured everyone they would love the choices and would be well fed. Very friendly, attentive and went above and beyond.
Had dinner here and absolutely loved it- we sampled many different foods and loved everything from the guacamole to the flan dessert- the tacos were amazing too , as were the margaritas- we will definitely go back when we are at the casino
Our food was tasty, BUT, it took over an hour for all of our food to come out after ordering. Worse yet diner 1 got his main course 30 mins after ordering, and was finished before diner 2 got his 50 mins after ordering and diners 3 & 4 got theirs 65 minutes after ordering. This in inexcusable. The wait staff was slow and difficult to track down for drinks, more salsa, the bill etc.
Service was excellent. Our server was very pleasant, quick and efficient. The serving staff was on the ball. Food was amazing. I have always enjoyed dining here.
Let's face it, Red Rock Resort has struggled with it's restaurant portfolio. For such a wonderful hotel/casino, the dining choices are surprisingly limited. T-Bones steak house is hit and miss, Hearthstone has the slowest service on Earth and Salute has opened to mixed reviews. Fortunately, Mercadito does not fall into the hit and miss category. Food is consistently top notch, service is good, and they even have a group menu that allows the server to determine your meal courses. It IS loud, so be prepared. That stated, we have been there multiple times and really enjoyed it.
I recently stated the red rock Casino for a business conference and did not have access to a car. None of the food options at the casino were all that good but Mercadito was probably the best of the bunch that I tried while there. The drinks and appetizers were good, but the main dish was just average. I've definitely had better Mexican food elsewhere. However the service was quite good and made the meal above average.
We have been here over 10 times in the last few months because the service, food and cocktails are excellent . The mac n cheese is like nothing we've ever had , the lobster tacos outstanding . Good value and very friendly professional staff. Good fun upbeat atmosphere.
First time at the place for dinner. Party of 5. Host and hostesses were great! Got seated at a table/booth. Noise level way too high, so much so we had to cup the ear to hear my friends on the other side of the table. Food was quite good. Mojito was excellent!
If you want to spend $4 for a taco this is your place!!! In Las Vegas there are a lot of great Mexican restaurants, but this isn't one of them. I ordered fish; one of the few non taco items. Couldn't tell if it was chicken or fish (seriously ), and really expensive at $22. Cocktails were $12 and for las vegas off strip that's expensive. I also wasn't pleased that I had a reservation but my table was given to a non reservation high roller while I had to wait. I will never go back. You won't have to look far to find a bigger , better menu at much, much lower prices elsewhere.
Severs and staff very attentive knew the menu made great recommendations...
Mexican food not like typical Mexican American places you may have been to. It was fun to try different items and everything was fresh and tasty.
Ambience was relaxed and casual; but portions were rather small --- and therefore expensive for what they were --- and one order was completely wrong (hence the lower score). But the rest of the food was good, and the atmosphere was welcome on a holiday weekend --- so the family enjoyed not being hassled for a table .
Food: Best part. Really tasty guacamole and excellent
margarita drink selection. We selected the four taco's.
Two per person were plenty and I prefer leaving not feeling
overstuffed. Quality was great, go for the swordfish taco.
Best fresh tortilla chips in town.
Service: Our waitress Amber tremendous. She helped us
make selections and was right on. She was really busy
though, but as nice as can be. If it weren't for her, I wouldn't
be so complimentary. Hostess was extremely kind.
1. Sort of a turnoff to see bartender taking tequila shots with
the waitstaff. Not professional and I think the management
would frown on this.
2. We requested the patio. It was reserved for a private party. Sat
near the bar at a table, noise level at times was a bit much. Still
great choice of table, very upbeat.
3. Service time varied. Some items came out quick (tacos), but
the guacamole took a while. I think it was the kitchen, not the
Conclusion: All in all a really great evening. I would definitely
go back and ask for Amber. Nice as can be and extremely
knowledgeable about the menu.
Outstanding food and drinks- good prices for hotel/ casino location
Fantastic dining experience, great service, yummy food that we went back the next day. We enjoyed the salsas & Guacamoles. The tacos are so yummy. Order a variety. Our favorites were Mahi Mahi, Sea Bass, Carne, & Hongo. The queso fundido with short fibs was delicious. The coconut flan was worth every calorie. We'll go to all other locations in the U.S. Hope they open NY again soon.
NOT an authentic Mexican food restaurant, however, enjoyed the flavors very much. GREAT for sharing, order a few apps and just enjoy all the different varieties. LOVE the patio. Will definitely be back.
Our group of three tried three different tacos. All were delicious with generous portions of meat. The Little Market cocktail was the favorite! You must try. The atmosphere was cheery, the music not too loud, and the service attentive.
Reservation was 730pm Friday. Arrived at 715pm. 3 groups sat in front of us after 730pm. Sat at 747pm at a tiny, starved for space 2 top. I weigh 260 lbs. Wasn't enough room. Waitress arrived at 756pm (9 mins after seating). After making my drink/appetizer order she asked if i wanted something to drink (yes you read that correctly). I told her the least she could do given the delay was to listen to my order. We got up and left at that point.
Enjoyed the menu overall. Settled for the enchilada with red sauce and was very pleased: it paired very well with the Misty Sleeve cocktail. The nachos and salsa were delicious, great texture and consistency.Service was good and timely, and the decor was also very pleasant, the restaurant has a nice layout of tables, booths and bars.
But why are the TVs on and showing sport during the dinner hour?
Although the music contributes to the hip factor, could it be a notch lower? The large number of people and lack of carpeting create a lot of sound. One really should not need to scream at the person across the table.
Super loud. Get the tacos & the guacamole trio. And a margarita.
Honestly, it's probably more my fault than the restaurant's that I didn't particularly enjoy the experience. This place definitely serves "higher-end" food, so if you are more a "traditional" type, like myself, you'll probably find yourself asking the sever a lot of questions before making your final selection. "Foodies" will likely appreciate the creativity of the entrees. I also tried this place out at the peak of the "Independence Day" chaos, so I can excuse the overworked staff. Lastly, it was uncomfortably warm inside the main dining space, which I assume was due to a failing AC system. All in all, I would have probably appreciated Mercadito a lot more were it not for the already-mentioned factors. Fortunately, any issues which made this experience less than ideal for me will not apply to a future visit.
We were here opening night about a year ago for our anniversary and could not wait to come back. The service was awesome then and still remains off the hook! We fell in love with the Kale Margaritas (which are now are called the V9).
This place is what customer service is all about!
Every entrée and most appetizers have an unusual ingredient or two you wouldn't get in a Mexican restaurant. Struck me that an aspiring American chef----trying to show off his creativity---put together the recipes. It's worth trying once, but I can't imagine anybody who truly loves Mexican food craving a repeat. It could be a swell place for folks who have never really been wild about Mexican food.
For example, we all know what goes in ceviche....whether it's fish, shrimp, squid or conch, essentially you add lime juice, cilantro and perhaps diced onion. Ours had no evidence of having experienced any lime juice, but instead, the seafood had been marinated in something like pineapple and coconut juice which turned it into a very sweet dish + tortilla won tons + some unidentifiable vegetable matter.. It was a taste experience, but in a "Mexican" restaurant, it shouldn't have been on the menu as ceviche.
Mexican food is, commonly, rather affordable and the servings tend to be generous. Mercadito serves rather small portions and the prices are a bit high.....not unusual for a restaurant in a nice casino, but again, not typical Mexican restaurant servings or prices.
The place is a little tight and a little loud. Looks like a modern bistro-style lunch joint, nothing like a real Mexican restaurant.
I must say I saw at least three dozen---perhaps four dozen---different tequilas on the menu....you won't ever find that selection in a typical Mexican restaurant. I had a very tasty margarita, but as with the plates, it was $10 and pretty darn small.
It was my first time here and I loved the service, atmosphere and the food!! Everything was served hot and fast and the food was amazing! Loved the sangria as well! I will be back!
Our server was delightful and very attentive. The taste and presentation of food was of excellent quality. Even the bus help was very courteous and efficient.
Even one of the owner's came over to check on us.
Great place to entertain someone from out of town!
Best mac and cheese ever. Different and delicious. Other menu items we had good as well, most above average. Tapas tacos nothing spectacular and over priced for what you get. God service. Would eat here again. Need to order so all arrives same time-otherwise, another kitchen that puts food out when it is done for one, rest when they are done. Hard to do tapas style tacos family style. A contradiction in ideas.
I have visited Mercadito three times so far and it's just AH-MAZING! The food, the cocktails, the service, the art... I love it and I recommend it to everyone I know. My co-worker recently celebrated a birthday and when she mentioned she wanted to try Mercadito I absolutely encouraged it! A couple of her friends were a little rude and I felt so bad because the service we got was great as always but these two guys are just...special. :-D Anyway, I will definitely be returning. So far the lobster tacos are my favorite but everything I've tried is yummy!
Great service (waitress Amber). Perfect menu for sharing. Carnitas tacos were enjoyed by all. Shrimp tacos just so so. Red snapper had some zip and the cole slaw was non-traditional and excellent. Hamburger was spicier (jalapeno) than expected. Combo shrimp/chicken/beef skewers with salsa and tortillas was enjoyable make your own. I would happily return with a group, but not as a couple, for better sharing.
Been here twice already both times were great food is excellent. Service is superb. Highly recommend this place.
