Amazing as always
The seven course chef whim was phenomenal! Highly recommended!
Great experience with chief's menu and wine pairing.
There are not even stars and accolades to describe the dining experience of Menton. Everything is five star from the service, to the presentation, and quality and creativity of the dishes. We order the tasting at Menton with the wine pairing and it is always incredible. Our server John was fantastic, and did a great job describing the wine for each course so much that I felt I was standing on the edge of the vineyards of Italy, France, and Germany. My husband does not eat dessert, so when we asked if he could have a cheese course instead without hesitation John said, "Of course!" and immediately discussed the wine pairing. Menton is the perfect restaurant for a special night out!!
It was an amazing restaurant
We had a special occasion and wanted to try Menton so there we were! The food was delicious and the wines we chose were amazing and went well with our food. The wait staff was wonderful. Only criticism- bigger portions as it was so good. We did not leave full.
Food was good but not outstanding so given expense probably won’t return. They did a nice dessert presentation for my birthday and the wait staff was terrific.
Excellent food, friendly and extremely knowledgeable staff, and great ambiance/decor! Will definitely be returning to Menton again when I’m back in the Boston area!
If you go for the tasting menu then my guess is you will be satisfied, however the menu is not set up for A la carte, the serving size was not appropriate for an entre portion. unless there was confusion in the kitchen... but we got a 4 ounce portion of Beef Fillet for $45.00, (kind of absurd). that combined with a torchon of Foie Gras which was the size of a silver dollar left me hungry with a whopping $300.00 bill for two. Silly...
amazing food and wine experience, perfect portions
Main entree portions are pretty small so make sure you order something from each menu section. Waitstaff was great and very friendly
It was just ok
nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,nice place,
We ordered the Chef's Whim with seven courses and wine pairing. The food was extraordinary and the overall experience was amazing. The smoked oyster mousse with sweet potato and caviar, paired with a smooth coastal Italian white wine, is a dish to remember. Next level. Two comments. The pacing was really fast. As soon as the last bite was taken the plate was picked up and the next course was put down within minutes. There was not enough time to savor the incredible flavors. The next comment is nitpicking, but the St. Julien served with the chicken course was a questionable match. A milder red might have been better.
The food and the service was amazing! They kept sending out little tasting treats so we left the restaurant full. The food was so good some of the best we’ve ever had. Would highly recommend!!
Good food, great service, pricy but worth it. Will be back.
Quite dinner night. Great service, the food was really good. A bit overpriced if you go for the 8 course dinner, but the a la carte menu was fine.
Amazing food and everything else!
The best restaurant in Boston. Superb food and service.
In my opinion, the best restaurant in Boston.
Food was good. Chairs were uncomfortable. Ambiance look tired
Always incredible! So glad you all re opened and I will be back soon!
We were so disappointed with our dinner at Menton. The menu didn’t offer many pescatarian and vegetarian options. The fish was SO fishy, we had to send it back and it was replaced by a plain pasta but we were still charged for the full price of the fish. Super overpriced, with bad food. So do yourself a favor and choose a different restaurant for date night.
A lot of free extras, which was a nice surprise. Wish there were more pescatarian (non-meat) options available; I believe there were only 3 positions on the whole menu.
My wife and I went to Menton as a kind of last date before our baby arrives, and the experience was amazing. The food and service were both perfect. The only criticism that I could make, which is extremely minor, is that I wish it was a little more brightly lit in the dining room. But honestly, the dim lighting didn't stop it from being one of the best meals of my life. I couldn't recommend Menton highly enough!
Best experience, best service
Everything was incredible here. I had just proposed to my girlfriend prior to our reservation and they made us feel so special. And the food was out of this world. We will definitely be back again.
Exquisite and delicious food, quiet environment and excellent service.
Chef’s Whim such a great way to dine - we loved it and the wine pairings were perfect. Nice job!
Menton is one of my favorites for a fancy night out. I wish I could come more often.
Normal food. It's the first time in my life that I find I can cook better food than a $$$$ restaurant.
Could you tell me why " POUSSIN (baby pumpkin, wild mushroom, foie gras)" in your truffle week menu tastes like grilled fish? Are you sure that you give me correct food?
( It is foie gras in your website, but it is foie jus in the menu you give me .So what is foie jus? A fish?)
$295 +tax+tips is nearly $350.This is the worst $350 dinner in my whole life.
By the way, I never see $$$$ restaurant is so empty. I start eating at 5 pm and end at 6:30pm. There are only two table people on Sunday night. Even during covid-19, other good $$$$ restaurants are still very busy. I think your customers have already known your food quality.
Exquisitely prepared modern cuisine with an upscale ambiance. Service is unrivaled anywhere in Boston and the staff is warm and welcoming. It's the perfect spot for the most special of occasions when you want the experience to be perfect and don't mind paying the premium for it.
Enjoyed all food but the pasta dish, unfortunately.
Wine options quite nice.
Service attentive but not too much.
Would have liked a bit more direction on food options and what goes well with what.
Dessert options lacking.
A truly fantastic experience. Great food, great service and a beautiful room. There is such emphasis on ingredients and preparation. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful in answering questions and making recommendations (when asked). I started with foie gras and then had the pheasant. My wife started with the beet salad and then had the summer truffle cavatelli. Both beautifully prepared and served. A fantastic experience and highly recommended
We are fans of No. 9 Park and had heard from friends that Menton was equally good. Unfortunately both my truffled risotto ($102!!) and scallops were served lukewarm. The flavors would have showed better if served hot. Very disappointing considering the rare opportunity to break quarantine and dine out. I will pay for really good food but this fell well short.
Superb food, atmosphere and service.
With all the hype I’ve seen of this place I’m left a little questionable. The food is very reminiscent of my childhood in France and was excited to dig in. First course was a nice primer to begin on this fall dégustation. But then once the pheasant was presented - seared but the fat not rendered all the way. Then sadly the boar - the peak of my excitement - bland. No seasoning, not enough/hardly any sauce to which to accompany each bite of it and the boar cooked “bleu” which makes it a very chewy if under cooked or over cooked.
Beautiful ambiance and service was impeccable other than the fact that whoever brought out the food needed to annunciate their words - be able to describe the food more than “pheasant with maple leaf crisps” (btw remove the cinnamon from your dishes it’s too common throughout all of them).
The food was very good and I’m glad to have tried this place. I don’t see myself coming back anytime soon, however. The drinks were ridiculously overpriced and not particularly good and our server hardly engaged with us.
I did appreciate the quiet atmosphere, although it was quite stuffy.
We dined at Menton for the first time for my golden birthday. We had the chefs tasting menu with the wine pairings, and opted for the cheese supplement (to die for, probably my favorite course of the meal). We did not splurge for any of the other additional supplements, but they were offering caviar and both white and brown truffles. We loved all of the food, and the service was informative without being intrusive. I also loved that we did not feel rushed; I know with the pandemic table times are shorter, but I felt like we took our time and we enjoyed that a lot since we have not been able to dine out often.
I had inquired about the chefs table and was told it had been booked for that night; but to our surprise and delight, about two courses into our tasting menu we were offered the table kitchen as the prior guests had left. We loved watching the back of house and it made the experience so special! Thank you to all of the front and back of house staff that made my birthday so great despite the less than ideal circumstances. I appreciate all of you. We will be back, thank you so much!
