I have been wanting to try Menton because I love all of the other Barbara Lynch restaurants. Came here on a date night with my girlfriend. All of the wait staff is extremely pleasant and made us feel very welcome throughout the night. The cocktails were good and interesting as expected. We did the tasting menu and got 6 a la carte dishes. The lamb tartare, seared scallops, Foie gras , lobster and uni spaghetti, sea bass and pork loin. The lamb tartare and foie gras were exceptional. The spaghetti and scallops were good as well - the flavors in each dish were interesting together. The fish was okay. The pork was not as expected flavor wise and was overcooked. Over all though, I would go back and just scratch the fish and pork and replace with something else on the menu. Expect to pay at minimum $150/person.

New Year Eve chef's tasting menu. My wife doesn't care for raw fish, so the snapper crudo morphed into an avocado, frisee, citrus salad that she loved. High end food, high priced, but welcoming, friendly and accommodating staff.

Menton is pricey but if you go at lunchtime and don't drink, it is a fabulous value. The dining room is lovely and understated, the service is top rate and the food was delightful to look at and delicious to eat. I was there for a post-Christmas ladies' luncheon and was so pleased with the Menton experience that I hope it will become an annual tradition.

I was looking forward to trying Menton's after hearing such good things about it. We went there mid-week. Although I wouldn't say anything really negative about it, there are other restaurants that I prefer. The servers were very nice, and the food was good, but not exceptional. Portions were small. Overall I'm glad I tried it, but I wouldn't go back.

The expectations were high for Menton but sadly were not completely met. We were two New Englanders and two New Yorkers (all foodies with worldwide restaurant experience) out for a post holiday special night out. The service was average as waiters and bread servers reached in front of our chests to plate bread, pour water, etc. Our waitress seemed somewhat annoyed both at our questions and when we had different requests for wine pairings (we didn't pair formally, we just paired by course individually). She left and returned to the table briskly making it difficult to have some requests met. The first course of pumpkin salad was uneventful, bland and had too much cheese. Second courses of pasta were better with the cavatelli being better than the lobster ravioli. The third courses were the beef entrecote and the pork dish which were good with the beef being the better of those two. This food was ok, don't get me wrong, but it doesn't live up to the reputation that it touts. If it were served somewhere else, it would be just fine, but here it seems to not be the level that perhaps it once was when the restaurant opened. We have eaten at No. 9 Park and would return there before returning here. The ambience is lovely especially the booths along the walls. FYI we didn't request special seating and because of that we were sat right in front of the kitchen door and we requested to move and the request was honored to a slightly better table but not a booth (interestingly that lousy table stayed empty all night yet the hostess staff chose to initially put us there instead of a better table).
