About Menton

With beautifully executed cuisine, an unparalleled wine program, warm hospitality, and a glamorous setting, Menton seeks to excite, inspire, and transport guests. Pristine ingredients and refined technique are the basis for the seasonally inspired menus for lunch and dinner. A six-seat bar, with additional seating for ten at tables along a banquette, features expertly crafted cocktails and an approachable menu of comforting classics. Executive Wine Director Cat Silirie’s carefully curated wine list highlights small grower champagnes and rare vintages from lesser-known vineyards.

In addition to the dining room and bar, Menton boasts two private event spaces perfect for gathering with colleagues, friends, or family.

Decent ambiance with nice attention to detail. We arrived early for our reservation so had drinks at the bar while we waited. The bartender was excellent, helped us with recommendations, and the drinks were perfectly mixed.

Dining rooms service was good. Danny was excellent. Attentive and humorous. The other waitstaff were good as well, they just did not deliver the seamless service I would expect from a restaurant of this caliber. I've been to more laid back places in NYC that had superior service to Menton.

We tried their tasting menu for dinner. We had intended to do the wine pairing but decided to stick with cocktails instead. Stand out courses included: Babette's Butter Soup, Butter-Poached Turbot, and Tartufo Raviolini.

The Foie Gras Terrine was very good, but for me the portion was way too large. The Quail was also very good, but just a tad overcooked.

The Yellowfin Tuna came served two ways, seared and raw. The sashimi was excellent. The seared tuna was good, but had a subtle but odd taste. The Veal Loin was also a bit off in flavor, and definitely chewier than I would have preferred. I can't help but wonder if the tuna and veal both received a quick sear on the same cook surface accounting for the odd taste they both had, because it was a similar taste on both meats.

The dishes were all beautifully plated and all of the sauces were on-point. The pacing of the meal was good and our drinks stayed full. We went for the cheese plate after dinner, which we couldn't finish and therefore also could not eat our desserts, so i brought them home to our son who reported they were fantastic.

We had high expectations for what was supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Boston. We arrived right at our reservation time and were told our table wasn't ready. When we were eventually seated, we spent most of the night with empty wine glasses, waiting for food between courses, or for our server to return with menus. It felt like we had been forgotten about and that we weren't valued guests.

This was my first visit to Menton and it was incredible. We were celebrating my husband's birthday and they made sure that it was a special night. The service was impeccable and the food was phenomenal. We enjoyed everything we ordered and the small bites that the restaurant sent our way. I let them know that I was lactose intolerant they sent out a dairy free version of every dish.

Love Menton & expect perfection each time...one small complaint. While we were waiting, we had a drink in bar area... tables were not too clean & I ordered a margarita that was average...anyway food experience was wonderful!!

We had an absolutely incredible time. Our server Danny made the evening comfortable and yet so very special. We were very well cared for throughout all aspects of the evening - attention to comfort, making sure meals were coordinated, wine recommendations, everything! Our party had a nut allergy and the whole team made us feel like it was not a big deal and we had nothing to worry about.

We had a really enjoyable, special evening. Thank you!

Absolutely incredible dining experience. By far one of Boston's premiere fine dining establishments. We opted for the Chef's Whim, an 8+ course tasting menu. Every dish was exciting and delicious. Every detail was thought out from decor to garnish. Waitstaff was incredibly attentive but never overbearing. I think they could tell that my wife and I were a more casual/easy-going crew and were a lot of fun while remaining incredibly professional. Never really felt pretentious or stuffy which is a fine line to walk. My wife and I can only afford to dine out like that once every lifetime or so, and Menton did not disappoint. Only complaint was the first course, the butter soup, should have been 20 times the size. I want to eat that by the gallon.

They polish the wine glasses, they iron the table cloths, they gave us an extra glass of wine because we had to wait for the kitchen to redo something that wasn't perfect. Best meal and dining experience we have ever had, and we were celebrating our 37 anniversary.

Dine Out Boston menu underwhelming, crab salad was good, steak entree was not, simple hardly any steak and grilled summer squash was done with complete lack of care. Dessert was small and unoriginal. The lunch cost the same as a fixed dinner price despite hardly any food and sub par prep work. I would say you get what you pay for but I severely overpaid.

Really disappointing. Service was very good but having loved No.9 Park, I expected equally good food here. Aside from the soup, the food was meh. Given other reviews and given experience at sister restaurant, maybe it was an off night.

I really just can't recommend this place. I was overcharged for lunch here to the tune of $145. The manager fixed it the next day when I came in for lunch, but these kind of things just shouldn't be happening.
Our waitress was rude and asked if we were ready to "start rolling along" after we requested to speak with a manager. My guest was shocked and asked if I wanted to leave. She made him uncomfortable, and for that alone, I will not be back.
This place used to be fabulous. What happened?

Attentive wait staff, creative menu, high quality food, elegant presentation.Interesting cocktail selections. A wonderful experience! We also took notice of the music which happened to be the kind we like — pleasant and not overbearing.

We want to thank Menton for making our son's 33rd birthday celebration so memorable! He remarked that he would remember the occasion for a long time.

One suggestion we would make is that the restaurant offer a more creative beer list.

Specifically we were surprised that the menu did not include a selection from highly rated Trillium Brewery which is located just across the street from the restaurant.

For some individuals like myself, Menton is a splurge but it's also an incredible dining experience that is worth every bit. And bite. Seriously, there was a delight in every thing we ordered.

In short, would I return? Yes.

For a trip to a new part of Boston, I searched for something special in a restaurant. I found it, and I believe this place serves the food of love. For a girl's anniversary meal, this place was fantastic in every single way. I
find that enjoy eating, and it is the most entertaining way for me to spend time in a new place. I feel I really get to know the soul of a place, and if it is good, I'm more inclined to adventure.
Food, creatively imagined, takes shape here and is almost like a friend. I think of the pasta and risotto dishes as friends. It felt good to be there, and there were many gifts from our chefs. Every bite was a delight, and of course that Butter Soup lit me up like a Christmas tree! The swordfish was outstanding, and rated by my husband to be the best he, part cat, had ever eaten in his fish-loving life. I needed lobster, and even though I thought I knew it, I was introduced to lobster without a crate of melted butter. It was a new love. Everyone was more than friendly, happy, and enlightening. It made us happy to be in Boston, together, sharing a very special meal.

Weird service, slow but rushed through all discussions. Expensive meal, don't make me feel like I am annoying you. Who even was my head server? Don't take the reservation if you aren't staffed up enough to provide the service this menu deserves.

Go to Menton for a special occasion and they treat it as a special occasion for them as well. We went for a many year anniversary and they offered the opportunity of dining in a private room overlooking the kitchen. What a wonderful opportunity to watch the ballet in the kitchen, to be served by, and interact with, head waiter, senior staff and the chef. Food, fabulous; wine list un-believable(could have spent entire evening reading it); service was impeccable. WOW! On leaving entire kitchen staff, waiters, front desk and even valet parker wished Happy Anniversary!
Great dining experience. It was expensive, but worth every penny. We will definitely go back, and would recommend Menton to anyone looking for an extraordinary dining experience.

Typical excellent food at a Barbara Lynch restaurant. Good wine list but needed more good wine options around $100 + as there were a lot of options in the $300-$1000 range- ridiculous. The portions are quite small, with maybe a need for more good non- fish options on the alacarte menu. The food was very good though.
