Impressive dinner and service. The tasting menu was amazing and I am glad we got it. I needed a change to some of the dishes and they accommodated me without seeming bothered. The service is amazing and up there with some Michelin star places I have been to in NY. It is pricey but the respect they give you and the freshness of the food makes you really understand why they set their prices there. It is a special occasion type of place so if you are willing to spend money you might as well do it right. I highly recommend this place and will be going back (as we try to do at least once a year).
Marissa Birthday
My husband took me to Menton to celebrate my birthday.
Food is very tasty. I don’t understand why there is never anyone at the restaurant during lunch time.
Hoping my 500 dinning points get posted on my account.
Having eaten at The French Laundry and other 1 and 2 Michelin star restaurants in NY, California and throughout Europe, I would say this was one of the 2-3 best meals of my life: The 8 course chef's whimsy with wine pairings. Superb and worth every penny! Each course was a marvel of culinary creativeness and excellence. The service and attentiveness to individual preferences was world class. The only thing detracting from absolute perfection was that the rolls that came with the meal (as opposed to the one before) were just okay, but this is a minor criticism in the context of an extraordinary experience. It's too bad that Boston can't support more restaurants of this calibre. By the way, if you order a la carte, a meal is not very expensive, with entrees topping out in the high $30's. But go for the tasting menu!
We had an absolutely perfect meal, celebrating a family birthday. The service and the food were fantastic! The staff has the perfect balance of being involved/attentive and not being intrusive. Each unique dish was prepared with flair and wonderful ingredients. Three days later we are all still talking about the experience, and comparing our favorite dishes. Lobster, Foie gras, Gnocchi, and Vegetable fricassee all competed. We couldn't have been more pleased!!!
Menton was a breathtaking experience from start to finish. We went with the chef's whim and every single course was spectacular. The food, service, wine pairings, and atmosphere were all impeccable. My compliments to every staff member at Menton and thank you for a lovely evening.
Always Perfect.
Lunch menu was so so
Best gnocchi had ever, outstanding service and sophisticated French-Italian cuisine
Fantastic. Could not fault a thing. Service : impeccable. Food : Devine (especially the octopus!). Cost : yes, it’s expensive, but this isn’t an ‘every day’ restaurant, so you should not expect to pay every day prices. Worth it, in my opinion. Go here!!!
Amazing food and exceptional service. A true fine dining experience
Food and service was excellent. Only negative was the price.
Went there with my girlfriend on Fri lunch.
Perfect food. Perfect service and great recommendations from the waiter on the menu.
If your girlfriend is looking for places to take photos, this place is it. She will love the ambience.
p.s. the soap they have in the restroom is hard not to love.
Staff is amazing and so is their food. Went to lunch with some co-workers - everything was delicious from cocktails to entrees to their wonderful pavlova. Definitely will be back.
Fabulous service and meal.
My sons only complaint was “not enough bread” We both loved everything
Even the candle in the bathroom .
The food is delicious, I had seared foie gras, which is amazing. The pasta is fantastic. I am very critical about pasta and I always have a high standard. But both the lobster spaghetti and veal agnolotti are outstanding. I had cod for my entree, and it is surprisingly delicious. One of the best fish I had in Boston. The service is impeccable and the staff here is unmatched.
Awesome service, delectable dishes, modern decor
The service was amazing and the attention from everyone was superb! The food was great.
The service was exceptional but I wouldn’t do the tasting menu again. I might lose some credibility here but the burger looked amazing.
Everything was lovely but we didn’t feel like it was worth the cost.
Sevice was over the top. Food was great and the people were very nice. It was expensive but was fun for rare experience. Had the Chef Whim - it was wondeful.
Menton is the ideal place for an anniversary or other celebration. The food is delicious and carefully prepared, the service is top notch, and the entire experience is high-end. The first time I went, there was a special tasting menu that had me dying to return. From the lobster to the gnocchi and finished off with cheesecake, I was left incredibly impressed with the Winter 2018 menu. Barbara Lynch incorporates only the best ingredients into her meticulously crafted dishes, and her vision translates well to the incredible Chef's Whim menu. Definitely a must visit in the Seaport area for that very special occasion.
One of the best eating out experiences I have had in Boston. Amazing and attentive staff and the food was excellent.
This was our second year in a row celebrating our anniversary at Menton. Last year, as in this year, we were spoiled and felt like we were at a spa. My husband and I were excited for weeks waiting for this night. It is an EXPERIENCE or an EVENT to dine here. Between the food, the service, the personalization of your special occasion, there is no place in the entire city like it. It is our favorite and we are serious foodies. Thank you, Menton, and John George, for a magical evening.
Maybe the best restaurant in Boston
A bit slow at the start—they need to make sure the front desk is staffed. After that, world class. The wines are thoughtfully chosen, the food is creative, and the service very well measured. If Michelin gave stars in Boston, Menton would have at least one.
I had high expectations and was honestly disappointed. Bar staff was slow, service good but not impeccable and main course low on salt.
Our waiter was engaging and fun. The Cod was the best I have ever had (I order that a lot!). The wine was expensive but nice. Exceptional experience.
Our third dinner at Menton - always for special occasions - was great as always. Menton has changed a bit over the last few years. The food and service are top notch (best in Boston to my knowledge), but the ambience is a bit more modern and edgy than what it was several years ago.
Excellent and discreet service. Very good menu if a little predictable. Deserts were the only flaw. Overall most enjoyale
This was my second time going to this restaurant. The first time was wonderful. This time I went with my husband and a business associate. Totally different. The mood was set by the obnoxious, hyper waiter. He seemed annoyed by every question and request. The food was good but not amazing as I had remembered. I think that waiter spoiled the whole experience for us unfortunately.
It seems that this restaurant is Barbara Lynch's ultimate venue. The decor is beautiful, the glassware is beautiful crystal and the service impeccable. The food, of course, was wonderful
Had Birthday celebrations with family. We were seated at chef table. Service is outstanding! Food is made to “ perfection”.
Chef and staff are very attentive to details. A perfect evening meal and occasion! Thank you Danny and Chef Lucas!
The food was fantastic and creative. Service was attentive and professional without being pretentious. I thought the atmosphere was great and I was glad to see most diners were dressed appropriately. It's not for everyday dining but I thought the pricing to be fair for the type of food being served. Great for a relaxing week end night.
I think the tasting menu is always the way to go. The food is perfect and interesting, service is impeccable but accessible. We love Menton— it’s my favorite place in Boston.
Anniversary
We were in the bar area which started off a little loud. (Actually just that one guy that likes the sound of his own voice.) Service started off a little odd. Spotty. Waited to place a drink order, but then evened our and all was well. Food was very good as expected. My steak was not the best piece of meat, but was cooked perfectly. Lamb tartar was the favorite of the evening.
We had a wonderful time, Chef's menu was great! Tried few house drinks and were pretty neat.
Excellent good, excellent service, a little on the pricey side.
