Friendly and accommodating staff. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Wine list was thoughtful and complimentary. A definite 5 star experience. We’ll be back!
Thank you, Barbara. Service top notch. Veal trianglioli excellent.
Fantastic dinner at Menton in Boston Thursday night! Spectacular food, excellent service and wonderful design, and of course - my favorite Chef...
Our dinner was made most memorable by Danny (clearly a manager of some sort) who kindly took it upon himself to "manage" our table for the evening....starting with interesting cocktail choices, leading us through excellent wine decisions and entrees, and desserts, he did it all with a fabulous sense of humor and ended our evening with a sneak peak at the kitchen operation!
Danny is the man who made this a memorable evening (and yes, our food was delicious). We'll make plans to celebrate our collective birthdays again next year! Thank you Danny and all the team of competent servers who brought and removed various platings with lightening speed and professionalism (including non stop water service etc.!). Top notch experience!
Good food. Great service. Crab bisque was delicious- very crabby!! Pasta was only luke warm which was disappointing although the staff were very responsive when I mentioned it. Recommended.
An excellent lunch
High quality service high quality food
A nice place to enjoy the fine dining
We have eaten there twice now and both times the service and food was excellent. We did the chefs menu with the wine paring which I would highly recommend.
Tried three entrees and they were all very good. Flavors and sauces were excellent, meat and fish were perfectly cooked to our requests, and the pasta (gnocchi) was light and well made. Desert was beautifully presented, but the flavors were hit or miss--felt like they were doing a bit too much. Staff were excellent--friendly, patient, pleasant, and kind. Overall, a great experience. We will be returning.
We have been planning to go to Menton for some time and finally had the opportunity and were not disappointed - food and service was excellent.
Great, attentive staff and perfect food. The wine list was great but did not have good options for bottles under $200 which is silly. The lack of such options does not put the sommelier in a good light, quite the contrary. As if wine was stocked by price only as opposed by taste and terroir...
Excellent food. Service for the tasting menu was too fast: it was as if they wanted to get us out of there quickly. A meal like this should be served at a slower pace.
This is my second visit to Menton with a 12 month lapse in between., and having not been to all the great restaurants in Boston because of limited time in the City, this would be my # 1 recommendation to someone visiting for the first time.. In the 12 month period , the food has remained more than excellent and the service has been perked up a notch. Chef Lynch not only know how to prepare the finest ingredients to produce marvelous textures and tastes but also knows how to run a business. Service was exceptional and our captain could not have been nicer. His recommendations and his flair for making us comfortable was out of this world. I had two sliced pieces of Rib Eye that, without question, was the best I have ever tasted. The Seared foie gras was so tasty, it just melted in the mouth and washed down with a glass of recommended Sauterne, I was in heaven. One of our guests had the Halibut, the other a beautifully prepared ravioli and we all agreed that the food could not be topped. The extensive wine list is just that, so extensive that I would rely on the staff to recommend pairings for courses as most of the wines today are so spread out across the universe and so good that its almost I'm[possible to keep up, and unless you are a sommelier, you are better off letting the professionals choose. I noticed there are other properties under the Lynch banner so I must try them all in my next visit
The food was terrible, mine was inflavorable and my friends was covered in salt and butter
The dishes were pretty good. Did not particularly enjoy the duck galantine, but the halibut was very good. Same goes for the arctic char and steak. The desserts were phenomenal and definitely worthwhile.
Not at the level of a few years ago.
Loved menton! From the decor, to the exquisite food and wonderful service, I had a great time. The tasting menu was fantastic.
Nice atmosphere and one of the better meals I can remember, paired with great wine, for what I would consider to be a very very reasonable price.
It's a unique experience. The carefully curated menu is unusual and exquisite. The wine list is enormous. It's unforgettable.
Very good mean and excellent service. Tasking menu on the pricey side but well done. Would have wanted better explanations on the pairings with the food item. Two separate staff did the 'discussion" would be enhanced by single discussion.
Good but fish plates were too salty, some plates were amazing, others not so much. Not sure it’s worth the high price tag
From beginning to end - outstanding. And because it was our anniversary I requested flowers and a carrot cake (our wedding cake). Thank you so very much!
We brought our son and niece to this restaurant for a nice leisurely dinner. Our staff was amazing! To the personalized to our taste drinks..to the many courses of delicious bread...fabulous pasta, entrees to the to die for desserts, we loved it here!
Excellent food. Wonderful sauces accompanying the fish dishes( halibut and bass) , superb cheeses, creative and delicious peach Melba. Only complaint ,restaurant was noisy.
First time visit - went with my boss for a working lunch. Food and service were phenomenal. It was pretty quiet the day we went, which is the only reason I didn't give the ambience 5 stars as well.
The sweetbread was the best ever. The tomatoes with a teaspon of goat cheese Really. What a shame. The Porrclet was overdone. Disappointed. Dessert Peach Mille Feuille more cookie than puff pastry. Again disappointed.
The only good thing was the service which was impeccable and professional.
The restaurant decor was cheap and common at this price point a tablecloth was expected. The silver was so marked that I thought my spoon was unclean. The flowers near my table in the niche were wilted. Shame.
The washroom was so dark with a 40 watt bulb and I mentioned it to girl at reception. Shame again.
Luckily, Boston has some fine restaurants so I shall never return. What a waste of money.
Halibut was a bit dry, everything else was good
Overall, another very nice experience at Menton. At some times, it felt as though the staff were trying to rush us through our meal, which is probably understandable but was disappointing.
My partner and I came here to celebrate our anniversary and we could not be more pleased. Highly recommend!
One of Boston's best. The foie gras was one of the best I have ever had.
End of summer dinner for college bound child.
Ambiance, service and presentation of the dishes were excellent. We got the chef’s whim. Only three of the eight dishes were interesting - the foie gras, the fruits de mer, and the wagyu. The artic char amuse bouche was the only dish that blew me away and I wished the other dishes were at this level in terms of flavor combinations. The other dishes ranged from good to bland. I expected more given the price and reputation but overall a pleasant evening.
a must. i cannot say enough about our great expereince in both occasions we have been to this restaurant in about 3 months. drinks are very creative and unique. food is great. service the same.
our waiter Danny both times has been simply the best, you can get. he has been extremely attentive to our needs and concerns of my pregnant wife.
enjoy a lovely dinner at this great restaurant.
The food was exquisite and the service excellent. I hope to go back soon to do the Chef’s Whim menu with wine pairings!
The service was amazing! From the moment we sat down until the moment we left, we were taken care of! The food was delicious and the wine menu was great! I would definitely go back again.
The food was delicious. No question. The staff needs to pump the breaks a bit, great service doesn’t always mean efficient service
Fantastic food delivered with exceptional service in a very unique atmosphere.
We were there during Restaurant Week, and had the special menu.
The corn soup, roll, and dessert were outstanding - great pastry chef. Thought the artic char slightly undercooked, and the plate looked a bit bland, but the flavor was delicious.
Great attention from service staff.
Great place to celebrate my sister's birthday while she was in Boston for a couple of hours. The food was delicious and the presentation carefully crafted. We went during Dine Out Boston and each got 3 courses for $35. We both got the corn soup with trout which was nicely pureed and smooth, I got the artic char, which was delicious and perfectly cooked, she got the duck confit fettuccine which was tasty but a little too salty, and we got one of each of the two desserts which were tasty but ran out of time to enjoy. While it wasn't busy, service was a bit slow, and disappointing to only have enjoyed a few bites of dessert, especially since it was beautifully crafted with many components to enjoy and we had been reminding staff we had limited time to work with. Overall it was a good experience. Anyone doing a 3-course lunch should allow for at least a couple hours. 1.3 hours wasn't enough.
Great lunch with girlfriends. Beautiful surrounds, food and service. All excellent.
