    Service was impeccable but food was mediocre. Execution and quality did not disappoint, however there were no exciting flavors and it sure wasn't worth the $1k price tag for a party of two (including tip and supplemental courses).

    I think that Menton has not fully recovered from the pandemic (and the whole Barbara Lynch drama). The service is *much* less professional and attentive than previously (timing of dishes, presentation of wine pairing, description of dishes, checking in on table, training and knowledge of food and wine). The food is often excellent (bluefin tuna with foie gras, sweetbreads, all four of the desserts), but other courses are just okay (squid ink pasta with tee-tiny pieces of king crab and sea urchin you could barely taste, slightly watery (undercooked?) black cod, one-note duck breast. Cocktails were a mixed bag -- the espresso martini and L'Azureen were excellent; the gimlet was too sour). You would think that for the prices you pay here ($180 6-course tasting menu, $135 wine pairing), you would have an in-house trained sommelier to talk about the wines with you, but no -- the sommelier apparently isn't even there much of the time -- he was over at No 9 Park when we dined. The server was trying her best, reciting the memorized notes as pleasantly as she could, but she obviously knew very little about wines and was not able to do a proper job. The wine pairing was not especially successful -- we weren't crazy about several of the wines at all, and the pairing of a fruity pinot noir with a very delicately flavored cod dish made zero sense. We did very much enjoy the lovely sauternes that was paired with the dessert course. I'm not sure we'll come back any time soon. It's just too expensive to not have an outstanding experience across the board. It's disappointing, because this used to be one of our favorite restaurants.

    Tasting menu was really well done, although not the best we’ve had. I felt the server/sommelier did not pay as much attention to us as I would have liked (compared to other experiences). My wine glass was empty for most of my courses before I was half finished eating them. Usually when we have tasting menus with wine pairings there is more detail about the courses and the wines. The lack of enthusiasm really took away from the overall experience.

    Dinner at Menton was the best tasting meal experience I have had in a dozen years -- both the food and the experience. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable, and answered all my questions but were not intrusive. The tasting menu was very well balanced in flavors, textures, and design. Each dish was just complex enough to be interesting, but also approachable. All-in-all, this is a destination restaurant that I will recommend to all my colleagues and friends coming to Boston.

    Amazing service, great atmosphere, really good food. All together was a great dinner. The reason for 4 stars is mainly the price. The food was amazing, but nothing totally blew me away, like I might expect for a $350/person meal. I got the Wagyu tartare supplemental course, which was fantastic, but as someone else mentioned, the preparation of it didn't seem to do the cut the full justice it deserves. I think my favorite course was the squid ink campanelle. If money isn't a concern, definitely worth checking out Menton, but I've had comparable food for less. Granted, I also am not extremely well educated about culinary arts, so take this with a grain of salt. Just someone who enjoys good food.

    Food was on point. Everything else was meh! At a place like Menton you’re paying as much for the food as you are the experience. Well, the experience was a complete miss. Inconsistent service. Empty restaurant and we were sat in the wort seat in the house. Wine pairing not even close to worth it. Light pours and no explanation of what we were drinking. Rushed. Overall, meh! If you want this level of a dining experience save your $$ and head to NYC.

    The service and ambiance are fantastic. The execution of each dish was great. My only refrain would be what was chosen for each dish. We love tasting menus but this one fell short. The tuna to start with was phenomenal, but the following sweetbread and sea urchin felt like something we endured rather than enjoyed. Serving two dishes back to back that are so unique in flavor is a bold choice, and unfortunately we didn’t feel that it was a good one. I would certainly return with a different menu, but this one fell short.

    The bill was $850 for 2 people for dinner. The meal was ok but not outstanding. Half wine bottles not available. Poor selection of wine by glass. Tables very close to each other, basically you can hear others talk. Cocktails not impressive. Overall no reason to come back for the price.

    For a meal of this price, one would expect not to have tables of people drunk, yelling, and cursing. One would expect not to finish your drink 30 minutes into the meal and then not have anyone offer to bring another for the entire rest of the evening. One would expect not to have to wait 10-15 minutes between courses with an empty table and no waiter attention. Food was ok and the servicepeople were friendly, but these sorts of lapses are bad for any restaurant and inexcusable at this price point.

    I took my wife her for our anniversary dinner, a delicious tasting menu. EVERYTHING IS TOP SHELF! You don't come to a place like this if your trying to find a value meal in the least. Again its top shelf down the line. So unless your loaded to the gills. Its a once in a blue moon special occasion. Beaucoup bucks! We loved it.

    Came at the recommendation of several highly accomplished (Beard/Michelin) chefs. Service was OUTSTANDING. Atmosphere was pleasant and the decor chic. However food was disappointing - maybe 50% of the courses seemed worthy of the standard set forth by BL.

    Despite the negative press that Barbara Lynch has gotten recently, Menton lived up to its earlier reputation as a first-class restaurant with inventive food and superb service. We were greeted warmly and treated generously by the wait staff. They insured that our visit was truly a special occasion.

    The food was outstanding! Not only beautiful but delicious! This was experience was everything we expected and more. Our Server, John George, was excellent and very accommodating. We can’t wait to go back next menu change!

    The food was absolutely dreadful. The chef seemed to have an inexplicable obsession with crumble, incorporating cookie crumble, and something crispy into nearly every dish for an extra texture. The pork belly emitted such a strong odor. Furthermore, it was incredibly bizarre to be served a croissant as an appetizer, which unfortunately tasted just as terrible.

    Special Mother’s Day prix-fixe brunch. Interesting dishes and combinations of paper. They were all great except the cheese soufflé that was slightly cloying. In addition the service of this soufflé was completely unprofessional, leading the cheese sauce to spill all over. I was surprised that no bread was served with the meal and that we had to specifically request some.

    We had the chef’s menu with wine pairing. Razor clams were phenomenal. The pig skin delicious. The squid ink pasta were too salty. The monkfish was outstanding. The duck was average. The popcorn chocolate soufflé was great but a bit too sweet. Service was impeccable. The wine selection was delicious and matched very well all plates.

    This was a 6 course dinner but the food took very long time to be served. Whole experience took 3 and a half hours. Food was okay not spectacular as you would expect for the extremely expensive dinner. Not coming back.

    Very friendly staff, however the level of the service, alongside the food and wine, was sub-par. All meat was prepared very nicely, but the wine pairing seemed like an afterthought at best. Meals were not consistently presented or plated similarly for everyone at the table, and the presentation of the wines seemed hasty. For a meal (we had the tasting menu and wine pairing) at a total of $1500 for four people, we had unfortunately expected more.

    An absolutely stunning meal. Everything was exceptional and the chef's tasting allowed us to explore so many beautiful courses that Chef prepared. The service was excellent and the setting was perfect. Menton did not disappoint!

    Our visit to the restaurant was outstanding. The food was not only delectable but also exquisitely presented. The staff's service was exceptional. Nevertheless, I feel obliged to mention that some of the "extra" menu items, except for the caviar, should have been incorporated into the Prix Fixe menu, given the Prix Fixe price. Despite this, we are willing to revisit the restaurant in the future.

    The service at Menton was impeccable and it was undoubtedly the fanciest meal I’ve ever had. The only offering of the night was a 6 course tasting menu. Some dishes were a little outside of our comfort zone but it was all tasty. Appreciated all the “extra” courses on top of the 6 main plates - amuse bouche, 3 different breads, palate cleanser, and mini pastries. It was a really fun gourmet experience. However, for how very expensive it was, I would probably not go back. I’ve had less expensive tasting menus that were a bit better.

    This was a terrible experience. They told us we had to wait at the bar, but all the tables were set for the evening and the restaurant wasn’t full. It only went downhill from there. We called and were told we could do a tasting menu or the four course. We all wanted the four course, but were told the whole restaurant had to do the tasting menu. That was the first disappointment. The service was painfully slow. We sat down at 7:00 and could not believe how slow it was. At one point, I looked at my watch and it was 9:00. I looked again and it was 10:00 and we still had 2 courses left. We asked for the bill at that point and just wanted to leave. They comped the meal so they knew things were bad. We don’t like to be rushed, but this was the opposite. If we had stayed, I think we would have been there until 11:00 (4 hours). The courses were minuscule. The Cabernet was $40 per glass! The food was plain and not tasty. We went back to our hotel and ate. We were still hungry. Skip this disaster of a restaurant.
