   We reserved a table in the dining room, only to find that as of May 1st, dinner is only served in the bar or patio. We had a glass of wine while we waited for friends in the bar. ...about 5 minutes. The server refused to bring us napkins and utensils until we placed our order. She said it was "a rule." Our service was very rushed. We will now only go in the winter when the dining room service is open again. The food is great.

   Another great meal at Menlo Tavern! Went for a birthday lunch with 2 other friends. We order iced tea (wonderfully flavorful), Calamari for the table (perfectly crispy and hot) Cesar salad with grilled shrimp, and one with chicken (crisp romaine, delicious dressing, crunchy croutons, and perfectly seasoned protein) and to end the meal, a complimentary dessert (lemon tart brûlée) that rivaled any French restaurant. The service was attentive and friendly without being over bearing. Convenient parking too!

   As always preparations were excellent. Main course choices for vegetarians are limited. Good choices in the bread, soup and salad category. Enjoyed the seating near the courtyard but would have been even nicer if we could sit outside in the courtyard.

    Usually love Menlo Tavern but lunch today wasn’t great. They were doing construction right outside which was very loud. I tried to move the plate with my soup on it and the plate broke in half spilling tomatoe soup all over the table and my sweater. It was such a mess. The staff was fine and tried to clean it up but offered no apologies or to compensate me in any way.
