service was excellent, especially the wait person, Dexter. The manager was also very nice. Things have improved with better staff, especially the laving if the former bar manager who was rude and hostile, Many stopped going. Prime rib was excellent.
Extremely impressed with the service & the atmosphere. Our server was wonderful!!! She was able to get the chef to make the dishes that were not on the menu.
Will go back again!
This was our second time for dinner--Simply said--GREAT! Asked friends after our first time there--and seems EVERYONE we spoke with enjoys going there for dinner!
Can't say enough good things about this place!
A nice place to chill and have a wonderful meal with friends. Even with the renovation going on, the staff made us feel very comfortable and welcome. The food was excellent!
I was disappointed to learn that my reservation to sit on the patio was not honored. I arrived several minutes early for the reservation. In addition the main dining room was closed (due to renovation). I did not know this in advance. We had a table by the bar...which was noisy and somewhat unpleasant.
However, I will continue to come to Menlo Grill --under 'normal' circumstances, they have excellent ambiance, a good menu, attentive service. The biggest reason I come is convenience - and quiet atmosphere. This meal was definitely 'not quiet' - due to the bar.
The Grill never disappoints. This time dinner in the courtyard with 3 friends. We each enjoyed our menu and wine selections. And the ambiance was just what we wanted.
Avg food, avg service, noisy children playing jungle gym
Pleasant music (guitarist) on a Sunday evening with friends.
Server disappeared for long periods of time, they didn’t mention anything about we were celebrating our anniversary, I shared that info at the time of the reservation. Cleaning empty dishes took a while too. Also at the end of the evening the desert that we wanted was not available.
The service was exceptionally awful. It was my birthdat and it turned into an epically awful special night out.
A nice breakfast experience before checking out of the hotel.
Was all excited to eat here... and well it is expensive... we had a $50.00 credit towards dinner with our booking so that was nice... the food was ok. Mine was a little bland. We really liked staying at the hotel for the romance package and the late check out. We would eat here again but there are better places in the area if you want to leave the hotel.
This is a favorite restaurant, and I've dined here many times. My most recent experience wasn't the best, although the food was, as usual, very good. The problems were with noise (from a table with toddlers who were screaming, making conversation difficult) and service (understaffed, slow, a waiter who may have been new and overwhelmed). Two of us had salmon, fixed perfectly and very good; another had the steak salad and pronounced it "delicious," and another had a salad that turned out to be dinner-size and the risotto, both excellent.
Good food and service. Quiet environment. Waiter was very nice, but not knowledgeable or wines. Reservation was honored promptly.
What a hidden gem! We dined on the outdoor patio to celebrate two July birthdays and catch up on a perfect summer day. Staff/Hosts were very charming and helpful and the tuna salad and steak salad we had were terrific. Thanks for a great celebration!
Very Nice restaurant inside the Stanford Park Hotel, nice patio with live music from 6:00PM. Enjoy the Sunday Prime Rib a lot, great value.
The Sunday night prime rib was delicious -- but only if you order the bigger size. Our friends had the 8 oz. cut, which was thin, well-done (instead of medium), and disappointed them. My husband and I had a big thick rare piece of prime, just as we had ordered, and it was very good. The accompanying mashed potatoes and slice zucchini were disappointing.
I ordered a martini before dinner and the glass came 2/3rds full. Martini glasses are not very big, and only widen out at the top, so the two-thirds mark was about half of what should have been a normal size of a martini.
Food consistently delicious. Service is always great. Has a beautiful setting inside and outside. Always enjoyable
Good selection of dinner entrees in a very pleasant atmosphere. Close to Stanford University and across the El Camino from Stanford Shopping Center.
Birthday brunch for six, service outstanding, outdoor dining area delightful setting.
A nice, quiet atmosphere with good parking, good food, and good service.
Our waiter made our grandson, who had just turn 21, feel very special!
I was at the restaurant for dinner on Monday 6/18 and the food was excellent. When I went to lunch yesterday, I ordered the same salad and was disappointed. The portion was significantly smaller although the cost was the same and it didn't have nearly as many blueberries & grapes as the previous salad. It contained more kale stems than leaves. We also weren't alerted that the courtyard was under construction as we would likely not have chosen to sit out there had we been informed when checking in with the host.
Always a delight at Menlo Grill, with their exceptional food and outstanding wait staff. Thanks!
We enjoyed our lunch at the Menlo Grill. The service was pleasant, and the food was very good. We will return!
Nice and quiet restaurant mainly used by Stanford Hotel’s business guests. The restaurant was not busy. My friend and I were not there to discuss business over lunch but to catch up after not seeing each other for several months. Salads and nonalcoholic beverages were very good. Hostess and initial staff were attentive but we felt that our waiter was abrupt and kept pressuring us to pay and then leave.
We had fantastic service for breakfast on Memorial Day. Our breakfast was well-prepared and filling.
Food mediocre, waitress awful, prices up, disappointed after years of living the place
Very nice, French Lamb Chops were perfectly cooked, scallops with risotto excellent, deserts to die for!
Quick, easy, mid-priced place for decent high-quality burger and beer/wine. Bar seating allows for a speedy in-and-out experience, with large-screen TVs featuring local sports.
wonderful setting but service quality variable, depending on whom the waiters are. love that everyone greets
I often go to the Menlo grill when I am having a business meeting for the following reasons: relatively quiet except on saturdays and sundays when it gets very noisy unless you stay out of the main dining room. the staff is friendly and reasonably efficient. parking is always available. the food is good but not too fancy.
Very disappointing. Server was very friendly but service was very slow. Water glasses were never refilled. Dirty dishes sat on the table for long periods of time. Most disappointing was pretty much all of the food. Soups were just ok. Avocado toast was pretty good. Salmon was mediocre. Mushroom risotto was not good. Pork chop was mediocre and accompanying veggies were bad. Prime rib was not good. Overall food was not good.
Went for Mother's Day brunch. Food was very average, at best. Halibut was tasteless and dry. Truffle gnocchi had truffles that did not seem fresh.
We went to Menlo Grill for mother’s day brunch. Food was superb - we all agreed that the parfait was the best we’ve ever had, and the pastries and main courses were very good too. Ambiance was very nice.
Service was strangely bad. Not sure why they didn’t have their act together on Mother’s Day. We waited 20 minutes for coffee and to put in our order, and even then they brought the wrong dishes and forgot to bring some of our beverages. Very strange.
Overall I would still go back for the food but with some service improvements this place could be truly top-notch!
Great Mothers' Day breakfast - mom was pleased! Yes indeed she was.
We had a sadly subpar experience. First, they dinner substitute a change as asked. Second, a pancake came in undercooked. Third, our poached eggs came undercooked with the egg whites in places still clear.
To their credit, the comped ever error. Had decent service and food otherwise. Just sadly, disappointing for a special occasion, Mother’s Day.
Had an early Mother's Day brunch celebration with family and experience was comfortable and relaxing with good food and wine and excellent service.
Really enjoyed the ambiance and ease of access
It's a very nice space off the lobby of a hotel. The service was poor; nice attitude, but not well-trained. The brunch was generally terrible. The omelettes were overdone and lacked flavor. The bread was okay. Just not worth the price. There are better restaurants out there. If food is not a priority, then this is a very pretty space for an event.
Everybody in our group was happy with their meal ...while Menlo Grill didn't pay much attention to our reason for being there, for our family & friends it was the best place to celebrate our college graduate.
