The ambiance is awesome service was good but for a $450 dinner for 2 people did not think food was at that level and should not have to pay for bread and butter.

Always a wonderful experience. Old Palm Springs atmosphere. Great place to spend a special occasion. We were there on a Friday evening. Bar was very active. Restaurant was filling up by 7. We both had the steak Diane which was delicious and finished it off with a bananas foster.

I cannot believe that I was served a reheated steak frites at this restaurant. Even the waiter was surprised. Second, who serves crostinis with escargots – the whole point of the butter sauce is to be able to dip bread into it. FYI, 'Au PoivRe" is missing an R on the menu. $18 extra for sauce for the $80 steak? What a disappointment.

Nicely updated interior that has retained its former charm and glamour. Impeccable, attentive service and exquisite cuisine. We used to be regulars at this venue pre-COVID and we will continue to frequent this gem going forward. Everyone in our party said it was the best meal they’ve had in Palm Springs in a long time. Bravo!

My friends and I ordered filet mignon and ribeye steak, respectively, plus several sides for dinner! The meal was well prepared to our specifications, and nicely presented by staff. Our chief staff team member Alex did a phenomenal job coordinating meal details, and periodically checked back with us to see if anything else was needed! Great service, excellent attention to detail, and marvelous follow up. We will return to dine again at Melvyn's! Thank you again for a fabulous meal!! You make dining out a true pleasure!!!

First time at this iconic restaurant. We enjoyed it but it wasn’t what we expected. Some charm still remains but the old atmosphere isn’t there.

I kept expecting Frank Sinatra to walk around the corner any minute. It’s what fine dining used to be. Other restaurants should all try to be more like Melvyn’s

I really do enjoy Melvyn’s, but our experience on thanksgiving was less than par. The waiter was awful and very rude to my mother with the simplest requests. There was no food for 3 out of 4 options on a prefix thanksgiving menu. We were told that we were to pay an additional gratitudity by our waiter after paying. While I appreciate the management following up after my payment of the bill and for the personal call, I find it hard to accept that paying over $600 for a dinner for three, constitutes us being offered a discount to come back after this service.

Great Thanksgiving dinner. Just check the bill before leaving, they over charged us for 2 desserts that were part of the prix fixe and then adjusted the price but still charged us for tip based on the wrong total…

Went there for Thanksgiving dinner. Was expecting a great traditional Thanksgiving meal but everything was just mediocre including the service. Ambiance was fine and the bar was also nice.

It was a great experience. However, in hindsight we wouldn't do the Thanksgiving preset dinner again. For $115.00 per person, plus a 20% "service charge" plus a 4% wellness charge it was over priced for a turkey dinner. When the bill came they asked for a gratuity of 18 to 22% on top of the service charge. We chose not to give any gratituity. Our total bill came to nearly $350.00.

We used to love coming here years ago, but the new owners simply don’t seem to have the same passion for excellence. Food was okay, temperature not great. Service was good and the waitress was nice. The old bougainvillea room was very loud. Price for what you get is ridiculous. It’s never been cheap, but the quality in the old days was well worth the price - not so much now.

Melvyns’ is a must. The atmosphere was fabulous. Our server, Jackie, was amazing. We had the pot pie and Mac and cheese, it was outstanding.

Absolutely the worst possible night. Two hours to get dinner. Waiter said it was outside his control. Every table near us came and left while we sat there in shock. Steaks were tough and cold. Blamed the pot pies which we have ordered many times there. Best thing was the bottle of Opus we brought from home. Truly unfortunate. Oh and I will mention the woman with the boxer dog who verbally accosted us when we walked in for looking at her.

Wonderful food. Best steak I’ve had in a steakhouse in a long time. Not over seasoned like most places. The rest of the food was also fantastic. The service staff was all old school very experienced and worked together like a well oiled machine. Great room and atmosphere. Highly recommend!

We had a great dinner, excellent presentation and taste. But for the price, the restaurant needs to hire more personnel. Waiters and busboys are over worked with the amount of reservations they have for dinner. I would not return for dinner, maybe I will for drinks at the bar .

Although Melvyn’s has a rich and long history, they are not relying on that. The food, service and entertainment are all carefully considered. It was a pleasure to dine there.

Started the night with a $10 charge for valet parking - should have parked in the street since it was a Tuesday night. Prices have really gone up since the last time we ate here ($65 for overcooked Steak Diane served ala carte), but the kicker was the $5.65 “Wellness Charge” added to cover health insurance costs—NOT for the server, which I wouldn’t mind paying, The manager did remove it when asked and was nice about it. Suggested even HE wasn’t covered by it. (Server said it was for full time management, so not sure who that is). Sorry. It’s not THAT nice. I miss Mel.

Melvyn's harkens back to the Rat Pack days. Swanky restaurants, wait staff in tuxedos. I want everything on the menu! Seating is comfortable. There's a separate lively bar area where you order off the main menu. I was pleasantly surprised how busy the bar was and with people of all ages. My friend ordered the salmon and it was the thickest slab of salmon I've ever seen and it was perfectly done all the way through. I ordered the shrimp scampi and there was the biggest shrimp I've ever seen! I'll definitely return.

Was anticipating a great night but was disappointed. The place is pricey, but we knew that going in. Had the wedge salad, it was more like an iceberg cup with dressing, etc. ,not a classic wedge. The deviled eggs were these weird pickled eggs that had an odd texture with filling piped on them. We had the prime rib special. Dull, unflavorfull meat that tasted mealy. They brought us a dessert for our anniversary, which was nice of them but was a "pannacotta" that was essentially a rubber jello mold. And the thing that really puzzled me was the up charge to make a drink. You pay for the base liquor at $16, then they add $3.50 to make it into a martini AND they charged us 50 cents for a blue cheese olive! And the drinks were 2 oz. Cocktails. Not the generous size you get at Copley's or Spencer's. Surprised of this experience because the Avalon group is now running it and have always had good experiences with them. Save your money. Go to Mr. Lyons or Copley's for better dining experience overall.
