We really enjoyed the food items on the regular menu. However we ordered two entree specials which were mediocre and overpriced. Nice that the restaurant called to advise that they are BYOB
Great food, esp killer gnocchi. Service was excellent and lovely ambiance. Very enjoyable.
Always consistently great! Very social BYO right near home... off nights are non-existent here..great value!
Overhyped place with regular Italian food ...
The dinners were excellent for everyone and service was very good
We had the calamari which was really good, not the typical breaded and fried. We also got 2 pasta dishes that were excellent. The pasta is made fresh eveyday
We each enjoyed salad and small plate, just the right amount of food. Everything was delicious. Servers were pleasant and helpful. Window table away from noise was a great spot.
Waiter was unprofessional and petty. Not the first time.
Restaurant week: good value for three course dinner. Food and service was great!
Wonderful restaurant - food was excellent, friendly servers, and able to have a conversation and be heard
Best BYOB restaurant in Philly, I was really amazed by how delicious the food is here.
Always the best!
We have been several times and its always very good
We had an excellent dinner at this wonderful Center City Italian restaurant. This is one of 3 Philadelphia area BYOBs owned by this creative chef and restauranteur couple, and all are fabulous and have become our favorites!
Food was excellent the service was great I will becoming back .
Fabulous, original food. Everything I ate was outstanding-- crepe, wild boar, desserts. I also tasted meals others had and wonderful food. Only complaint was that my birthday wasn't acknowledged when I came in--only when dessert served to other guests and I shared their fabulous desserts.
My friend left wine in car so she had to go back to get it and that slowed things up, but that was her fault, not restaurant's.
We had some great food. Best pork chop ever. Calamari was a delicious appie. Tiramisu was just excellent. BYOB is a big plus.
Consistantly good food and service. The atmosphere is congenial and staff pleasant without being overly chatty.
We went for restaurant week and everything was delicious! Service was great!
Great experience, delicious super reasonably priced and wonderful friendly service and environment!
We had a great time at the restaurant. The manager was very friendly and generous, comping our desserts because we had to wait quite a while for a table after our reservation time. The food was very tasty, and I’m sure would have paired well with wine if we (out-of-towners) had realized that it was a BYOB establishment. The only ding on the evening was trying to get wait staff attention (e.g., being served the appetizer but not provided with utensils until we could finally flag someone down 5-10 minutes after the food arrived). However, if I lived in Philadelphia I would definitely go back!
Great food - will be back.
Great food & service, nice atmosphere! Highly recommend.
My only feedback is that it should be clear it is a BYOB before you sit down (maybe at reservation phase).
Great food and service. BYOB is always great.
Food was not quite as good as we’ve had before. Octopus had a slightly unpleasant slimy mouth feel and the shrimp risotto was a tad underdone with a mildly dull taste profile. The gnocchi on a cream sauce were great and saved the meal. The ambiance and service were outstanding. We will be back, but will probably stick to the mussels and pasta.
Always delicious food. Always friendly, attentive, and courteous service. We look forward to dining at Melograno every few weeks.
Excellent service, decent pricing, delicious good, and great atmosphere! New favorite restaurant!
Super friendly staff, the food was great for the price. The BYO aspect made it even better!
Service was wonderful, very friendly and courteous. Food was delicious, and very reasonably priced.
Melograno has remained popular because of the excellent food and excellent value. As it is a BYOB, one can have a very good dinner at a very good price. Our service was outstanding, truly a professional (in Philadelphia, unfortunately, this is rare). Our only complaint -- it is very noisy. "Energetic" on the rating sheet is a ridiculous euphemism. Looking around, I could see no sound absorbing panel -- in this day and age, it is annoying when a restaurant is oblivious to extremely high noise levels. Having lively tables of six where women are shrieking to each other to be heard does not mean it's a great restaurant. Melograno is sufficiently large that it could try to have more quiet areas -- it doesn't even try (we requested a quiet table).
My party of three all had outstanding food. It is always outstanding and the BYOB feature is a nice add-on.
Phenomenal experience. The food was immaculate, the service was excellent, and I would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for amazing Italian cuisine.
Great food seems to be authentic always a good crowd and nice vibe extremely noisy
Very good homemade pasta and great food. Good value too
Food was delicious and portions were enough. It seemed like they were short staffed for a Saturday night but overall it was pleasant, friendly, and we were not in a rush. BYO that takes cards is also nice
Great dinning experience, food was delicious!
Consistently good. Wonderful staff who is always welcoming, courteous, professional and some of the best in the business. Bravi a tutti.
One of the most solid BYOB experienced in the city. Genuine Roman style Italian food with a stable menu of "go tos" and a rotating list of creative specials. Ask for Antonio - one of the best servers in the city.
On a trip and passing through Philadelphia. We were really happy we found this restaurant. The food was as good as restaurants we have enjoyed in Italy.
