Melograno BYOB is a contemporary 3 bell Italian Restaurant located in Rittenhouse Square, which was also recognized in Bon Appetit's Top Tables. Roman-born Chef Demontis transforms traditional Italian food and elevates its flavors. This was my 49th birthday dinner. The waiter took it upon himself to bring me my tiramisu with a candle. So sweet. The food and all service was incredible.

Fantastic Food and service. I have had dinner at Melograno many times and it has always been great. My only complain is the noise level. I am not sure if something can be done to bring it down.

The food was good and portions generous, especially since we were there for restaurant week. The tiramisu was comparable to what I enjoyed in Rome and the best I've had in the states to date. I would go back just for dessert alone.

Excellent dinner chosen from the specials and a menu with many choices. Bronzino, lamb shank and the pasta with scallops all were hits. Luca was terrific, knowledgeable and attentive.

We ate at Melograno on Sansom Street on a Saturday night, and the restaurant was crowded and noisy, but the food and service were excellent as usual. We each had appetizers, the burrata for me and the char octopus for my husband, and they were great. The handkerchief pasta with braised muscovy duck ragu and the tartufate with forest mushroom black walnuts were well prepared. Melograno continues to be one of our favorite restaurants.

Food and service were great, which is why we came back. We live in the neighborhood and eat out a lot and would come much more often than we do except that the place is much too noisy. When we came with friends, we could not carry on a conversation because we couldn't hear the people just across the table. Even when we come early before the restaurant fills up (like last evening), it is noisy. If they could find a way to muffle the noise, we would come more because the food is that good.

Our go to restaurant in center city. They pay attention to their customers and add their personal touch to every experience. The food is to die for and we are always thrilled with our dining experience. This is the place where we take our out of town guests. Never tire of it.

We had a lovely dinner at Melograno, we’d wanted to try because we love L’Anima, its sister restaurant in Grad Hospital. The Amatriciana and special seafood pasta were excellent, and we also had great antipasti and pinsa. You can’t beat a delicious BYO in this city, much better than spending 2x as much at other restaurants in Rittenhouse.

Food was very good but the portions were small relative to their prices. The restaurant space was large and the sound level rose as the evening progressed and it filled. By 8-8:30 the noise was too loud and distracting.

The dinners for all four of us were excellent. However, the noise level continues to be an issue which is due to people speaking loudly and conversing with others at nearby tables. We will return to Melograno as we always enjoy the food which is great.

Everything was well prepared, good service. But I wanted a 6:30 reservation only 6 or 7 was on open table. There was hardly anyone there at 6 or 6:30 and not full when we left. Waiter very good, excellent tiramisu. Brought 2 visiting friends from Australia, who enjoyed their meal. Have been to Melograno several times. Always a nice menu and a plus for BYOB .

The pasta was delicious. We ordered duck ragu, crab pasta and beet ravioli and all were great. The burrata and the octopus appetizers were good but not as good as the rest of the meal. The crème brûlée was nice and I loved the decadent chocolate mouse. The place was pretty empty on a Wednesday night but we had a great time. Don’t forget it is a byob cuz the nearest state store is 2.5 blocks away!

This place was delicious and impressive! Service was 10/10. Empty plates were removed from our table immediately to make room for more plates. It is BYOB. Octopus, burrata and meatballs were so good. The meatballs were one of the best I’ve had. Steak and truffle fries were our favorite dish we ordered believe it or not. Best truffle fries by far.

It felt like Rome! The lively vibe, people laughing and talking , enjoying each other; Homemade pasta and interesting recipes; and basic lovely simplicity amidst the formality of Rittenhouse. This is a special place for dinner and as it was in our case a birthday celebration.
