Can't wait to get back to Philly so I can come back for another meal.
Great place off the beat and path of Philadelphia. Food is A+
Delicious food for an Italian food lover.
Grilled salmon was excellent and a large portion. The pasta special was quite unique (calamari and pistachios). Nice that it is a BYOB. Try the bronzino too.
Appetizers, dinner and desserts were very tasty. Very nice restaurant.
One of my favorite 'go to' neighborhood restaurants in Center City. Authentic Roman cuisine, freshly and expertly prepared. The Pinsas are an ancient Roman take on pizza and are not to be missed. And the service is always attentive without being fawning. Just one of the friendliest and reliable dining experiences in Center City.
This was my 2nd time here and I'm not sure I will be back. It's unfortunate too because my issues are somewhat out of the hands of the restuarant. There a lot of rude people who eat here. I think that's the BYOB calling. The restaurant is also incredibly loud. It's small and tables are close together but the other diners make it very difficult to hear. Both times we dined here it felt like the loudest bunch of people jammed into one space at one time. This time, the table next to us was actually yelling to one another. This restuarant also takes very large parties all night. Tables of 8, 12, and larger. The host asked us to move so they could accommodate a table of 14 who was angrily waiting for us to leave (we still had dinner in front of us) so they could sit. They decided to hover around us and have a photo shoot while we finished eating. We were offered free dessert to move. I felt bad for the host (they were clearly young and didn't have patience for anything but Instagram) but we were seated 15 minutes past our reservation time and this is kind of what happened sometimes. I don't think we will go back.
From the moment we walked in until the time we got the final check, everything was perfect. The service was even better than the perfect meal.
Always delicious! We keep coming back!
Very good food!
Loved the vibe in this place. Only complaint would be the noise level. Good and service were excellent. Highly recommend.
Truly wonderful food and service
We were ecstatic to sit at Melogranos for Valentines Day, expecting a delicious dinner and warming service. We learned not to expect anything. A week prior to arrival, we made reservations for 9:30pm. Upon arrival, we stood near the cold door waiting for almost 45 minutes for the table we had reserved for 9:30. Reserved. The hostess said it would be only a couple minutes and nothing else, for 45 minutes. Rough start Melograno. We understand it’s Valentines Day and busy, but one doesn’t wait 45 minutes for a RESERVATION. Anyways...
The restaurant crammed too many tables into the space. Once finally seated, we were practically on top of the couple next to us. We were also disappointed that no one acknowledged how late we were seated. Everything continued as normal.
Our server was friendly and made good recommendations. The food was very good and came out in a timely manner despite how busy it was.
We would try it again but hope for better service next time.
Excellent food, reasonably priced. Great service. Will return.
Great food. The entire experience was great and the food was well priced. I love BYOB places and thins was one of my favorites in Philly.
Will be going back to Melograno. I have already recommended to all my co-workers today. Food was excellent. Service was fast and friendly. Love that it is BYOB.
Excellent food. Server was very helpful with recommendations. Tieramisu was particularly good and I would not have chosen it except on the recommendation of the waiter. He was right, it was special!
Amazing, authentic , creative Italian byob! Highly recommend this ! Went after seeing a movie at the Roxy movie theatre which is across the street and also a comedy club , Helium , is on the same street. I am a first generation Italian and am very selective , highly recommend!
Love sundays at melograno - quiet, delicious.
We waited 45 minutes for a table even though we were on time for our reservation. All was well tho as we were comped 2 lovely charcuterie trays as soon as we were seated. The service and food were impeccable. My daughter had a broken jaw and asked for some chicken broth. The chef prepared a wonderful seafood broth with saffron risotto instead. Above and beyond!!!
Tight space, can hear conversation of people at table next to you. Felt rushed by management, so loud that it's hard to hear server. Food was okay, but definitely not the best Italian I've tried.
Great food, service and overall ambiance. Highly recommend pasta or pizza with truffle oil
Romantic scenery, a bit loud but over all one of my new favorite places. Margarita pizza is a must have, it’s a great kept secret.
Great food and service. The maître d’ is first rate.
Meatballs are an absolute power move
Overall it was a good experience. I love a BYOB and the food was really good. I thought the service could’ve been better, more attentive.
Staff was great
Melgrano continues to be one of the very best of Center City's Italian Restaurants. From appetizers to pasta to main courses the food is excellent and has been so for many years. The pasta with wild boar is the best in the city and if you have never tried the Cotoletta as a main course - do. Many of the serves have been there for years and that is to your advantage....and it is bybob.
Went for restaurant week. I heard this place was great but I was not impressed. Service was slow, food was ok. Bathrooms were dirty. There are much restaurants in the city. I’ll pass next time.
Food was fantastic. The lighting was perfect. The service was quick and friendly. Awesome time.
My fiancé and I went to Melograno for a Restaurant Week treat, mainly chose it because it had Italian and was BYOB. We unfortunately forgot to bring a bottle, but after being served the food was kind of glad because then we could just eat and get out of there without having to quickly finish a bottle.
Maybe the food quality was not as good for restaurant week due to the volume of patrons they had joining them for dinner, but my fiancé and I thought the food was rather bland and very one dimensional, not enough flavor. I hope to be proven wrong should I ever end up dining there again.
By far is one of the most delicious Italian restaurants I’ve ever been at before. The food there was outstanding I had the lamb osso buco , the veal meatballs, pork chop just for example of deliciousness would definitely be back as a regular ❤️
Waiter was awesome. Food was fantastic, will definitely be back in the future.
Excellent food and service (though perhaps a bit slower during Restaurant Week). On a busy Saturday night the noise level was high making conversation difficult but a week night might be mir manageable. Definitely worth trying.
Fantastic food. Fantastic friendly and helpful service. Great ambiance. The whole package. We had the fish of the day which was superb and pasta. Cooked to perfection. We will be back soon! (And live that it is BYOB!!!)
My dining companion and I very much enjoyed our visit to Melograno's during Restaurant Week. The menu choices all sounded delicious and it was hard to select. We enjoyed our 3 course dinners and the service we received. The sound can be a bit loud, but the food was OUTSTANDING.
Just overall very fair, was disappointed. Went for restaurant week and was expecting better after having heard good things. Service people seemed cranky which set a weird tone/vibe.
We went for restaurant week. Food was great, but like others, we found the place rather loud.
We went to Melograno for restaurant week. It was our first time at the restaurant and we were very happy with our choice. The RW menu had many offerings and half of our party of 6 opted for it. All of our dinners were superb, as was the service. Really like the open kitchen ambience. We will go back soon!
