I had the truffle and mushroom parpadelle and it was as good as advertised.
I have been to Melograno many times but not in last year. Service was excellent; room was lovely, since it was early, not loud, but the food, overall, was disappointing. And that's the first time I've ever experienced that at this restaurant. Normally, outstanding food.
Continues to be a great place with amazing food and fun, hip vibe. It’s perfect for groups, a special event, or just a quick - delicious - dinner. Always visit when I’m in town. And continually recommend to friends looking for a tasty bite.
We enjoyed dining at Melograno. The food was excellent. We each had the delicious striped bass
and soft shelled crab and spicy mussels appetizers. We finished with a refreshing mango sorbet.
The wait staff was very helpful and welcoming.
Delicious food and the pizza is amazing. Great service and fun ambiance. Will definitely be back.
Very good Italian cuisine. Service was excellent, attentive, not intrusive.
Absolutely fantastic. Did not expect to be so impressed. Can’t believe the food. I thought I was back in Tuscany. The service was 5 star. On those alone I would recommend in a heartbeat, but then the check came. I was floored. Yeah it was byob, but it was soo cheap I thought I was robbing them. 1000% recommended. Best meal in ages.
As always the food is excellent. Great specials. Pleasant wait staff. Always bring our friends there for dinner. We love Melo Grano.
Lovely restaurant and impeccable service--kind, accommodating to every request. The fresh mushroom pappardelle is just excellent. This is not 5-star Italian, but it is friendly, easy, moderately-priced, and delicious.
I rated the food good from past experience. We actually left at 9:05 pm because we were not seated for an 8:30 reservation. No apologies from the host, and poor communication on updates. Noise level is quite loud. We dined a few doors down the street at Porcini, which is an excellent Italian BYOB. I highly recommend Porcini.
We had a nice date night out, our server was very attentive. It was a little noisy in there but it was expected as it was a Friday night at prime eating time. The portions seemed a little small but was very delicious. Would go again.
Charming ambience, inspired food, great neighborhood.
Just okay. Dined here with a friend for her birthday and wasn’t overly impressed with the food or the service. I told the hostess and notes in Open Table that it was my friends birthday and they didn’t bring a candle out or anything which is a small thing, but was kind of a bummer after a mediocre dining experience there. Not bad, not amazing, just okay for me.
My entree (breaded chicken) seems to have come straight from the Sysco food service.
Just discovered this gem in our new neighborhood. The tables are not jammed in and the food is clean.
I suggested the pasta tartufatto to my friends, they raved about it. The daily specials of watercress salad and pasta with mussels and calamari were outstanding. We must go back soon.
I found my pork tenderloin very dry. Others in my group found their entees lacking flavor. Our server was not very attentive. However, it was an extremely busy evening for the restaurant. I’d like to think it was an off night for them.
Very authentic Italian food very well prepared and presented. It is a BYOB so an excellent value.
it was a nice experience. the staff were helpful. the environment was nice but busy.
All was great. The shrimp dish had an unusual taste and color.
Food was delicious as always. One if my favorite places. Only complaint is the noise level. Many loud parties going on.
Good food. INSANELY LOUD and we were in the window seats so people waiting for tables were hanging over us the entire time. I wouldn't return because the atmosphere was stressful.
My wife and I went here the night before running the Philadelphia Love Half Marathon. We were expecting to have options for large pasta dishes with great flavor. What we found were very bland dishes, small portions, and an environment so loud that we finally quit trying to have a conversation with one another. Our impression was that the only major draw to this place was the BYOB policy and party atmosphere.
Wait staff could use another person on the floor. Salmon and dorado fish courses were terrific. I never had a Beddia pizza but can say that Meolgrano's pizza compares favorably with the gold standard, Pepe's in New Haven
Melograno's food has always been good, but we left and stayed away for along time due to the outrageous level of noise.
Tip" come early and be seated at the window. Noise level much less. The food was great
Food delicious, great waiter, knew all the dishes, slowly explained everything. Love the place but guests I brought thought too noisy for a family dinner, hard to hear each other. But menu interesting and delicious. I would definitely go back. Like the BYBO policy.
Food is decent and our waiter was great. The management staff, however, is a different story. A few girlfriends and I came in for dinner and ordered a full three courses and our dinner took around 90 minutes (not unreasonable, in my opinion). I have never been so passive aggressively rushed out of a restaurant by a restaurant manager. You could also feel him and another staff member hovering over our table very visibly annoyed that our table hadn’t turned over yet. There are way too many great BYOs in this city with a way more friendly staff. Seek those out instead.
Went on a Saturday night and it was quite busy but the service was prompt and friendly. Food was outstanding across the board, from the apps to the entrees and we had a great bread pudding desert. Prices seemed relatively moderate and since it's a BYOB you don't spend a fortune.
Beautiful restaurant. Small but charming, loved the decor, very simple. Great lighting and ambiance of the entire place. Moderately prices menu and the BYOB cuts your bill in half. Nice and courteous service. Food was delicious, menu options were slightly limited. Great recommendation for Italian food in Philly.
Food was just okay. There was a lack of vegetables in the main plates offered. Maybe we should have added them on as sides, but would have been nice to have them already paired.
Great atmosphere! Even though the menu is limited, the food was yummy.
Wonderful service and fantastic food!
We have been here twice in the past month and truly enjoyed every dish we tried. Highly recommend and BYOB.
Superb food and excellent service with the added benefit of being able to bring your own wine.
Great place for dinner with friends.
It was screaming loud. Food great, service excellent, not good for date night
First time experience and the server was amazing. He helped make recommendations, which was probably super easy because all of the food was amazing. 10/10 will come again
Very accommodating and the food was unique, tasty and innovative.Loved the melitzana pizza
My wife and I travel to Italy every year and just returned from a two week trip to Rome and Florence.
If you cannot get to Italy, Melograno makes you feel like you are in an Italian Trattoria.
The food is prepared carefully with local, seasonal fresh ingredients and tastes just like the meals in Italy.
Our server was exceptional in explaining all of the details regarding the menu and specials, while not rushing through the explanation. We never had to ask for more water, home maid bread, or to pour our wine.
The management and staff were professional and friendly....and we learned a few good tips from them for traveling to Naples and small towns in southern Italy.
Melograno success is not surprising, since the Chef and management are from Italy.
One trip to Melograno and you will be looking for a flight to Italy.
