Delicious food and great atmosphere! Love this place! A hidden gem! Great for a date night too!
I had been once before and found the menu very Interesting. Unfortunately, it’s seems in the meantime they have scaled back the kitchen. The cheese plate was lovely, and the meatballs were rich and delicious. However the emphasis is certainly on wine. The owner spent a good amount of time discussing the bottles they have and he clearly cares deeply about his wine list and his customers.
Such a wonderful staff! Loved the tacos and ceviche on the Tuesday night menu. Would go back for sure!
Super memorable and romantic spot, and the burrata on the charcuterie board is a must. Definitely making this a semi local spot.
Beautiful ambiance and setting. Sat outside, was comfortable and DJ was spinning good music that was not too loud. Food and wines were on point.
The best, had a really great experience, great food, everyone was so nice I loved it!
Loved the ambiance and the service was great, but unfortunately the food was forgettable and way too expensive. Oysters were small and sub par as was the charcuterie plate. We were given a glass of wine that tasted stale, and sherry that was served at room temp instead of chilled. Very cute place and would reccomend only for cocktails.
Overall, it was good. Food and wine selection was good. The music level was too loud. Not a place for an intimate dinner or for a nice quiet place to have a glass of wine. I think my biggest issue was when I said something about the music level. The manager gave me attitude and said this is a music centric place so too bad. For a $240 bill for 2 people, I expected better than that kind of comment to a customer. Would I come back? I don't think so when there are so many other places in Silverlake to chose from.
First time. Beautiful spot. Great food and awesome service from Corrin.
Great food staff and ambiance
Beautiful dining experience
Melody is a hidden gem.
Barely noticeable from the street and a bit off the beaten track, but the food is fantastic, the wine list is interesting and reasonable. The food is seasonal and fresh with unique combinations and subtle touches of flavor. Scallops were outstanding and peach dessert was perfection.
The service is low key, yet friendly and pleasant.
I will certainly be back.
The scallops were cooked perfectly and tasted super fresh. The burrata and tomatoes was also a winner - some of the most flavorful tomatoes that I’ve had all season. Kale lollipops were also a winner, as was the shishto peppers - although they definitely had some heat to them. A DJ was playing great music and people were dancing which was a fun. Service was great. I’ll be back
I found Melody on a random Open Table search and I’m so glad i did. I loved the homey feel and the relaxing patio. The wine was delicious and the 5 small plates was the perfect amount for my party of two. I really enjoyed this place and highly recommend it.
Love this place- great addition to the neighborhood!
Melody was a delightful find. I discovered it on Opentable looking for reservations for a party of 3 people near Koreatown. While the location is not what you expect when you walk in you are immediately transported to an incredibly warm, modern, and stylish atmosphere. The outside/inside seating is fantastic. The food was sublime and all locally sourced. The wine selection was suburb and the servers were wonderful and modern. I love the fact that they add the service fee of 18% and share with back of house. All in all...don't sleep on Melody's. It has the recipe for a staple in restaurant in Silverlake. I will be back for brunch.
This place is a great neighborhood spot. The food is reliably delicious, the wine list is very solid, and i could hang on the patio all day. Overall a great spot for brunch or dinner.
One night, my wife and I felt like a romantic night out. We randomly chose Melody from a handful of new L.A. area restaurants. First impression: Absolutely beautiful patio! Even though Melody is in the heart of east Hollywood bordering on Silverlake, the veil of foliage surrounding the patio makes it feel worlds away. Melody is essentially a casual wine and small plates getaway - type of place where you want to order an *extra* bottle of wine just to be able to sit a while longer. The entire space is beautiful. The food is delightful and from what we understand, seasonal. We shared gruyère toast with mustard seeds, a light, flavorful scallop terrine and a delicate smoked brandade (Italian fish) “dip” (really more of a mousse.) The service was wonderful, the music playlist was light but not boring and we could easily have a quiet conversation. All-in-all… AMAZING. We will definitely be back.
Cool space. Very friendly service. Interesting menu and top quality food
Cool place. The music level kept changing which was a little annoying for brunch, not terrible though. Wish they had gluten free bread and decaf coffee. Would go there every day if I could. Love it.
It was fantastic!
Their “casual” French menu was superb and the restaurant was beautiful and relaxing and classy!
Had a great time here! Tried about half the menu and everything was excellent. The wine list was as promised, adventurous and delicious. Wonderful service in a perfect environment, not sure what more anyone could ask for!
Eric and Paloma put a beautiful restaurant together! The vibe, the food, the wine list and cocktails exude every part of their personalities. The jams were so good, spinning only vinyl!
Must stop by!
Great food and cool design.
Dined with friends on their patio on a temperate Sunday evening. Relaxed atmosphere. Attentive service. Cool vibe. Yummy food. Glad to see Virgil brightening in this way.
Great patio. Really creative dishes. No liquor license, so only beer options.
They automatically charge 18% gratuity regardless of party size and also charge for tap water, which was a little strange without fair warning. Really fun little spot - would try again. They also offer reservations & valet parking.
Melody blends an awesome space with great food. The indoor-outdoor dining space has a relaxed vibe in what feels like a converted house. The food keeps getting better, serving a comfortable and casual yet top-notch menu that feels like it fits the space. The smoked brandade dip and scallops are both winners and not to be missed.
I only say I would not recommend to a friend as there are so many options out there. Food was good and well flavored but not impressive enough to bring me/us back. Service was generally good but I did not appreciate a male staff person (manager??) moving a table umbrella covering my guest and me so as to cover other guests exposing us more to the sun without asking first or such. Also, special Sunday afternoon brunch alcoholic beverage was tasty, two for one at that hour, but heavily iced and filled halfway on glass so personally I felt the restaurant was being skimpy. The outdoor patio is good and fine and I would imagine many would find it quaint.
Thus, an overall experience for you would be fine. But for this diner, not enough to woo me back.
I love the food and the indoor/outdoor vibe, our party however was not a fan of the dj and the music was too loud and not a good vibe. FYI - this was Saturday the 9th...
Yelp assigned only two $, yet we had to order 2+ items each so we each spent over $40 do our food.
This little adorable converted craftsman is such a gem! I'll be frequenting this cutie pie.
Charming space nicely decorated good wine very nice patio food nothing different but well prepared.
Came just for food (no drinks this time). Split 3 plates between 2 of us and it was the perfect amount of food at a great price. I do like how they add the Service Charge to the bill and do not leave the ambiguity of giving a tip. I saw no slide in service with this approach (very much like London).
The muscles were amazing. Skip the Octopus (almost no food).
Romantic and fun
Amazing food service decor!
Honestly one of the worst dining experiences I’ve ever had. Food is not good. The only thing anyone liked is the burger which is from the happy hour menu. (We can’t speak for the chicken sandwich or mussels because they ran out.) The prawns, which the owner said were the best, were not good and had the gross dark vein still running through. Regardless of the food, the owners are rude and don’t take accountability. They tried to charge us for food that wasn’t served (canceled mid-meal) and that was supposed to be comped as an apology for running out of food. The owners discounted our bill by taking the 18% service charge off instead of taking items off the bill, despite my request to do so instead (we wanted to tip our server). They didn’t care at all that it meant the server would suffer losing her tip instead of the owners losing some revenue. The owner told us it was “our choice” if we wanted to tip her in cash. Just not the type of business owner I want to support especially if the food isn’t good. I’ve heard they charge for tap water although we were so frustrated by the other charges on our bill, we didn’t check/notice that. I really hope this business leaves and something better takes the space over because the patio is really nice. (I’m not the only one who had a problem with these owners judging by their yelp reviews.) The 7 of us were all in agreement we would never go back. Eat somewhere else.
Our server seemed like she did not want to be there. She was extremely short and unfriendly
Excellent, creative food. Wonderful ambiance and great service. We sampled a lot of different dishes and enjoyed all of them.
Great new eastside LA restaurant. Tasty brynch. We'll definitely be back.
