Owner Melba Wilson opened its doors for locals and travelers alike to have a pleasant dining experience with great service. Fried catfish strips, barbecue short rib sliders and spring rolls filled with black-eyed peas and collard greens make delicious appetizers before feasting on the main course. Guests can choose from entrées like Melba's popular Southern fried chicken with eggnog waffles, which was a winner on Throwdown! with Bobby Flay, as well as pan-seared sea bass and the barbecue turkey meatloaf. Had the best time at MELBA’s like I always do. The food was great, the ambience was fantastic and I felt like I was back home in Norfolk, Virginia. Go! I would recommend the Spring Rolls, Fried Chicken wings and Macaroni and Cheese.

The food was beyond amazing! Our server, Brian (I believe), was so kind and suggested Melba’s Spring Rolls for a starter. OMG!! Brian deserves a raise for that alone. Food was fresh, seasoned well, and I cannot wait to come back next time I’m in Harlem.

My husband and I are visiting from Atlanta and wanted Southern Comfort food. Melba’s did not disappoint! We had smothered chicken, greens, potato salad, fried chicken & macaroni/cheese. The ambience was pleasing with familiar R&B music in the background and our server was friendly and accommodating! Melba welcomed us to Harlem NY in the most beautiful way and when visiting NY in the future… we will definitely be returning customers!

Melba’s was okay. I had the salmon it didn’t have much seasoning and was pretty underwhelming. The Mac and Cheese made my night! I didn’t like the peas and rice or the yams. I can’t say they were not good, they just didn’t do it for me. I ordered an Arnold Palmer and had to ask about it a couple of times, by the time it came out I had already drank my water and didn’t want it anymore. There were some guest in the place that was a little bit too loud; but otherwise ambience was good. I would still recommend giving it a try.

Never a disappointment dining at Melba's. Fried chicken was juicy & crispy. Service was outstanding. Cocktails were exquisite. Always a delight dining here!

Dine today and the former Governor Andrew Cuomo was there. As always, the food was delicious and so was the drinks. Rum punch is one of my favorites.

Melba’s was everything! The Hostess was amazing in her soft voice, Our waiter was tops! the way everyone sang happy birthday to anyone who was celebrated and the gentleman who cleared the table! I would eat there again!!
