The owner and waiter was trying to be overly polite but it became rude....within a 15 min period we were asked 5-6 time if we were ready to order. We felt rushed and uncomfortable. No time to look at the menu and open the wine.
went for Diwali dinner with friends; Some of the appetizers were a bit underwhelming; asked for medium spiciness level but tasted bland. Service was hurried; Highly recommend the thai fried rice.
Our second time dining here in just a few weeks, this time with family, and everyone enjoyed it. Food was great, they accommodate special diets and vegan, nice ambiance, in a shopping center but does not have that feel inside. Great local discovery for us. We will be back.
Shibani is amazing hostess and the food is absolutely delicious!
Didn't feel that the food was anything special and ambiance was lacking. Service was attentive and I'm always willing to try a BYOB
It has been too long since we have eaten here. It is too bad that this restaurant is a bit far from our home so we do not make it very often, but we have been very happy every time; this visit was no exception. The food and the service are outstanding. I really like coming here with a group so we can eat family style because I would not want to be limited to only have 1 entree. While it was moderately busy when we were there, I am always surprised that Melange is not more crowded given how good it is.
Loved the food on both times we visited.
Good food, Good service what else could you ask for.
The quality of the food and service has deteriorated over the time. I use to be a regular but not anymore.
It's was ok
We waited so long for service. The waiter took almost 10 minutes to come and greet us. Then we had to wait so long for our food to come out.
I was having lunch with a colleague who works in the area and we wanted to try something "different." Melange was a great find, especially as it is in an area that feels and looks very "corporate beige." The service was impeccable; even the owner stopped by our table to inquire how our lunch went. The interior is lovely; rich colors and nice seating. The menu is a good mix of unique items. However, the chef will easily modify anything on it to taste. I can't wait to try them for dinner.
Food was good. Dry sautéed cauliflower was very good. Spice level was good, ordered medium, could have ordered spicy. House lime soda -sweet was nice to have something different.
I was looking for something different, near my hotel in Parsippany. There was not much to choose from, but I was very pleased to find Melange. I was also lucky that the owner was present, who is quite a lovely person. We have a brief but very pleasant conversation and she is most earnest in her work, and proud of her restaurant. The service was quick, but not too fast, and the food was great. I asked the owner for an appetizer and main course recommendation. The fish cakes were perfectly prepared, as was my main course. I highly recommend this restaurant!
Live in Parsippany, went with wife. Very friendly service and the food was very good! Will be back.
Pad Thai and Singapore noodles very good but lacking in quantity of chicken. Truly paltry amount of protein which required an up charge making the dish cost over $15. Really should cost $8 and come with a soup or spring roll. My wife's grilled tilapia had to be sent back as the vegetables....requested instead of rice...were cold; the fish portion, like the aforementioned chicken portion, was tiny for the most expensive dish on the menu at $25. That killed the restaurant for me unless they were to send us a gift certificate for a return visit.
Been here before, Thai food was fine but with this visit, Singapore Noodles was NOT at all a Singapore Noodles, not a hint of taste!
I should know, i lived in Singapore and one of my favorite Singaporean dish is "Singapore Noodles"!
Lunch special was available but special treat (as you would have in other restaurants) for our friend's birthday was not available, not a great place for celebration.
Consider Melange for your next dinner near Parsippany. The southeast Asian flair adds an interesting mix of spice, Indian and Chinese favors to come up with interesting dinners. Service was slow but we enjoyed the Jasmine tea and conversation. Our salmon, lettuce wraps, chili fish and spicy chicken dinners were worth the wait. Lovely owner makes you feel welcome
We travel for work and our group eats out every day of the week. This is only the second place in Parsippany/Morristown area that we returned to for another meal. The other was Il Capriccio. In fact we went to Melange two nights in a row and a few said they wanted to go back again tomorrow. The Jasmine tea, lettuce wraps (spicy), salmon, spicy crispy fish, Mongolian beef and chicken stir fry were all excellent.
This was my third visit to Melange. Tried something different each time. The salmon this visit was perfectly mad, ample portion and great price.
Food was excellent. A touch pricey but you get what you pay for! Remember to BYOB!
Very good food and attentive service.
My wife and I went here for New Years Eve and had a great meal. We'll be back.
Good food, great selection, and attentive service. The hostess came by several times, food was served in order we wanted it and plates were brought to facilitate sharing. The warm tuna salad was amazing, as was the coconut shrimp.
Melange was a true fusion of various Asian culinary techniques, with some new twists on old favorites. The Lemon Lobster was a true champion. My family and I will be returning for more.
Good alternative to Ming in Morristown.
I went to celebrate my girlfriends birthday and I'm from longisland this is by far the best food in jersey ! And the host was so pleasant , servers extremely helpful . Will go again soon.
I would go back just for the owner, she was extremely pleasant as was the rest of her staff. There weren't many people there so you could hear individual conversations pretty well. We got the rice noodles with meat, very typical Asian with a lot of food. I would suggest asking for less sauce.
Looking for a good dinner spot near hotel we were staying at in Parsippany, NJ, just happened to run across the listing on Yelp & Open Table for Melange and what a great find! French Thai/Pan Asian, really mostly Chinese and Thai, run by an Indian and Nepalese staff! Excellent food, reasonable prices, but note it is BYO. In a suburban office park right off main highways 46/80/287 and easy parking but not that easy to find the right strip mall where it is located. Right near Sheraton and Hyatt House. Wouldn't go far out of my way but if you're in the vicinity or staying at one of those hotels don't miss it!
The food and service was great.
we go to melange for lunch quite a bit as it is near the office - the food is consistently good and the service is always very warm and friendly.
Our foursome visited Melange for it's convenient location and menu including vegetarian dishes. The group hadn't been together in a year so there was a lot to talk about. The service was perfect. They did not rush us and we were able to enjoy good food and good conversation. We will be back again, for sure.
We found Melange accidentally through Open Table and have eaten there a number of times. We especially like the Manchurian cauliflower and the curries. Siobahni, the owner is so lovely and makes guests feel as though they are dining in her home. My only suggestion is that it would be nice if they updated the menu occasionally or offered specials. But everything we've tried is wonderful.
Good food and menu choices. Bit pricy and food bit on the salty side. We enjoyed it and a new favorite
Easy parking. Quiet, nice ambiance - but not great food.
The four items we had- shrimp dumplings, vegetable dumplings (almost no flavor, odd & sweet dipping sauce), chicken sate (not good), chicken lollipops (the only tasty item, but very salty)- were not worth eating.
Unfortunate this was $40!
Was ok. Enjoyed the food. Staff was a little odd about where I had made reservations (Open Table vs. their private service). A little uncomfortable having to deal with that. Awkward.
Owner was very helpful and came by a few times to check in on us, which was nice. It was good for lunch. Food was fine, but the spicy wasn't noticeably hot nor spicy. Stop in if close by, but not worth a long drive.
First time dining at Melange was a great experience. Great table setting with eclectic Asian fusion menu. All of our meals were outstanding. Try the Coconut Shrimp. Not your typical recipe (i.e. fried). Fantastic presentation and outstanding flavors.
