Very tasty & tons of menu options - cozy, hip interior - server was very knowledgeable about the menu.
Had an amazing evening at Megu for 14 people!.
The staff were fantastic and the food and services was exceptional..
Thanks for looking after us Megu Team!
We were a large group and the waiter offered to give us some options family style. The food was excellent, albeit over-priced and the waiter ordered way too much food for us (in hindsight we should have checked what exactly he had planned for us before it was brought to the table, but it was so loud that it was hard to communicate with him). Apart from some sides and appetisers there we no vegetarian options on the menu. Service was quite slow, especially in the beginning. They gave us one drinks menu for a table of 14.
It was a very nice place to have diner. Our server was nice.
Let’s make this simple, Ive ate good and great Japanese/Sushi in NYC.
Megu is Extremely overpriced, from drinks to entrees the pricing is ridiculous.
The food is good, aside from the Omakase which was disappointing and very uninteresting the overall quality of food is good and tasty.
Presentation is nice, some dishes have their own serving trays and mini presentation with fire or visual effects.
Ambience was nice, it’s a dim lit specially lighted restaurant that makes everyone look good.
Drinks were delicious but again the 20% overpricing factor was just stabbing us by every round.
I wouldn’t go again
Amazing experience start to finish.
Loved everything about this place from the ambiance to the food. Service was amazing as well. I definitely plan on going back.
We had such a terrible experience at this restaurant that we wound up leaving. We were initially sat at a terrible table so we asked to be moved. We were cordially moved to a better table but then asked to move again by a different host who told us that table was reserved. He didn't seem to believe us that his colleague had sat us there. When we told him we didn't want to move again he told us we were welcome to leave and when my husband started to stand up, he told us "Adios". He was incredibly rude and we will not be returning to this or any other Megu!
i celebrated my 17th birthday there this past wednesday and it was a great experience!
I really enjoyed myself! The music is great and so are the cocktails and the food. I will be going back :)
Very poor service.
Megu was fabulous - 30th birthday gathering with fantastic appetizers at the bar, followed by an excellent dinner! Excellent and friendly service, A totally great evening!
Food and service wss great, if your looking for a quite romantic dinner not here, this is place is fun and the music is loud. Nice crowd of people.
The host and servers made the night great honestly. A lot of items on the menu weren't available. We had to wait 30 minutes to be seated even though we was on time for the reservation. Space was very limited on where to sit/stand during the wait but the host and servers were so nice and fun to talk to that they made the visit pleasurable. Will go back again with an earlier reservation on a not so busy night.
Food was amazing, service was great. Only complaint was they served TAZO green tea. I was expecting a more quality tea than that.
Amazing ! Service and food !
What a disappointment! This is nothing like the original Megu. Wait staff is inattentive, food is mediocre and way overpriced. No wonder it was empty on a Friday night.
As beautiful as it looked in photos it was absolutely ruined by a filming of a housewives episode occurring in half the restaurant. They couldn’t find our reservation. They were non apologetic for a cheesy party happening for housewives. The food was mediocre but worse because the 7 dishes we ordered were served all at the same time. So it was tough to enjoy the flavors and dinner bc they were cold by the time we got to it. Lame all around. The waiter however was lovely.
They should let people know of any events happening at the venue when booking reservations. Food was not good at all specially considering the price.
This place came as a referral for a vday date. Place and decor are cool . The food wasn’t bad but way way way OVERPRICED!! Portions and prices suck and that’s why I won’t ever refer or go back. No value to this place at all . If you wanna throw money away then go ahead but if your hard earned money means something to you then stay away. Staff was great I really mean it ,but the food portion and pricing was a scam
So much fun!! Such good food and service!
Totally overpriced, very mediocre. Missing items from order and didn't even bother saying anything. Just wanted to leave...
Last night I dined at Megu for a late Galentine's Day dinner with 10 girls and I was extremely impressed with every single experience I had. From the attentive and hospitable service, I received, to the delicious dishes, everything exceeded my already high expectations. I loved my cocktail, Wild Ginger, it was fresh and not too sugary. Dinner was so amazing, I'm still full! We had rock shrimp, Wagyu gyoza, a ton of sushi (with truffles and edible gold), and tons more. Every time something came out, we had a new favorite! Loved it so much we're booking a birthday there for a few weeks from now. Definitely my new go-to restaurant.
The atmosphere and vibe are perfect for a special occassion or a date night. Would highly recommend this venue for some sushi and excellent drinks.
Went here thinking that it was the quality of the old megu in TriBeCa. Was vvvery disappointed and embarrassed I had picked this spot to celebrate my boyfriends bday bc it was cheap and cheesy and not near as good quality of what megu used to be. I purchased a promotional coupon for a five course meal off gilt city for $179. They said this was 60 percent off but there wasn’t even an option to get this on the menu which makes me to believe that this was some made up menu and a scam just to get people in the door. Sushi tasted like delivery sushi , not Fresh. The megu I knew flew in their sushi fresh every day. This megu has coupons for seamless at the front check in. Needless to say, I won’t be returning and will advise my friends and network to stay away. What a serious disappointment
Our server was disinterested but it didn't affect our experience. This was my third visit so I knew better than to allow this server's lack to affect my view of the re staurant. Still a great spot for any occasion. .
A little pricey but overall good experience!
Waited a hour for dessert, they gave us the wrong food, and the waiter came over like 3 times in 3 hours. Thats how long things took. Won’t go again.
Went here for Valentine's Day. Their prefix menu was incredible and service was top notch. Highly recommended for date night and special occasion.
If you've ever wanted to sit in the middle of a loud obnoxious club and dine to ear shattering music then this is the spot for you! As you scream at your dinner companion(s) in an effort to hold simple conversation, you'll be treated to a series of air horns randomly dumped in by the DJ. The food was amazing but not worth the steep price.
The best thing i can suggest is to turn it the F down and dump the air horn sounds. It's LIKE a club, but no one is dancing. Ambiance would have been 4 stars if the music was turned down and the random air horns during the sets were cut.
Also, don't bother asking to redeem any vouchers. My Purewow voucher for free sushi roll was declined despite calling ahead and verifying they would take it.
Definitely a fun, upbeat place to go for sushi. Food was good! We weren’t exactly looking for that vibe but nonetheless still a fun night out.
We ate dinner at Megu on 2/15/18 and had a great experience! Decor was amazing as was the service. Everyone was very attentive and pleasant to speak with. We had amazing appetizers which was our favorite part of the meal. Best i've ever had! We will def return in the future for more fine dining.
I came here thinking I was going to have sushi but after watching steak come out for the table next to us we decided to have some steak and it was amazing! The apps were delicious too salmon belly tacos were so good we had 2 orders. This is my new spot.
I had gone to the Tribeca location countless times in the past. I was disappointed when the restaurant closed, but excited to check out the new space when Megu reopened in the Meatpacking.
I called to make a reservation and spoke to Asia- she had such a lovely personality and disposition, I got a very positive feeling right away. When I arrived at the restaurant I was warmly greeted and went to the bar to have a drink with my girlfriend. The bartender was attentive and the drinks were very satisfying...the great happy hour prices didn't hurt. The manager William came right over and introduced himself and made us feel right at home. We ordered several rolls and sashimi and loved every bite. The space is very different than the old Megu, but just as fabulous...we will be returning soon!
I wasnt a fan of Sushi, but my dinner guests were. We settled on Megu because of their selection of Sushi and cooked options. It was a great choice! My friends loved their Sushi and my Short Ribs were delicious. Excellent service and lovely ambiance. I will be back and I might try the sushi next time!
Came here thinking I was going to be eating sushi and turns out I ordered 2 steaks after seeing the people next to me order them. Looking forward to coming back here for the sushi .
Somewhat over complicated food. Sacrificed flavor for elaborate presentation.
