MEET in Paris
FORMERLY a VERY big fan --- always encouraging friends to head there - but not anymore! Went there for a special Sunday brunch. Once we were seated we were told that there were no lobster dishes available -- they were out of lobster. A huge disappointment! We drove over an hour for the lobster omelette Waited 15 mins for coffee in the tiniest of cups --- so three sips and it was empty -- took 15 mins to get a refill and it was from a carafe under the hostess station and was dead cold. Another few mins of trying to get someone to replace it. We were given a truly tiny baguette of four small pieces of bread for 4 people. They made us feel terrible asking for more. But their prices are high so we should not have been scoffed at for asking for more bread. We were told that they could sub crab for any of the lobster dishes so we ordered one --- What makes the lobster omelette so wonderful is a tomato seafood reduction sauce that is heavenly -- but when the dish came it was probably a teaspoon of drizzle --- perhaps they just served so many they were trying to stretch out the sauce that was left --- the dish was terrible -- my 24 year old athletic son ate half (what does that tell you). The fries were underseasoned and cold. I ordered the full combo breakfast that includes coffee but was charged for the coffee - received a glare when I pointed it out. Had to ask for the butter and jam that comes with the breakfast combo. We didn't say anything else because they were clearly annoyed at the service they were being asked to provide. With so many restaurant choices out there I am sad as I have been a big fan and previously gave this restaurant high marks (please cancel my former rave reviews)-- not only was the food disappointing but the service was terrible --- seriously when you can't get a cup of coffee right that says something --- it's just not that hard.
Service was horrible. Super slow. We went for breakfast and there wasn’t anyone sittIng there when we arrived. Still took forever to even get the water. Coffee was cold. They wouldn’t let my friend supplement her potatoes for salad. Really? I wouldn’t go back.
This place has the best mussels and the ambiance is amazing. Sitting on the patio drinking rose and eating a bowl of mussels and fries is like heaven...
Mussels we’re very good.
I would appreciate a few wine choices under 50 bucks. Go on Sunday when the wine is half price. If you can sell it for half and still make money it’s overpriced to begin with.
fOOD MAGNIFIQUE. dEBORAH, THE HOSTESS TRIED TO HELP US GET A CAB TO GO HOME. cULVER CITY IS NOT VERY COOPERATIVE WITH TRANSPORTATION ON A
DEBORAH IS A GEM OF A HOSTESS. KEEP HER AND PAY HER WELL!! LINDA MILAN, CULVER CITY RESIDENT, 40 YRS, LAKESIDE VILLAGE CONDOS, 310 837 9445.
We sat indoors, which was a bit cooler during the day around lunch hour. It was packed outdoors on the patio though, and would be lovely for a date or ladies outing. We were with family though, and wanted seating in a more quiet and cooler space. Mussels were delicious. The Paris burger with guyere was bomb, and you can’t go wrong with fries! Quaint interior. Wonderful staff and service!
A dear friend took me to one of my favorite restaurants for my birthday and we both got sick! I asked for the appetizer escargot and it was completely different than what I got in the past (it was a cream base). The server offered to change it to the butter garlic base that I was used to and it came back so salty, but I was happy that they exchanged it for me. My steak was brought out luke warm so the herb butter wouldn't properly melt over it and for the finale I spent the rest of the night in the restroom and so did my dear friend! It was her first time there and she was confused as to why I thought it was such a great place. The bill was $200 for the two of us and the quality of the food was definitely not worth it. It makes me wonder if they tampered with our food because the appetizer went back. Not my favorite place anymore, I will not be back.
Wonderful service and cuisine as usual😊
Always go here before going to the Kirk Douglas. Love seeing the same great server, Nicloe. Was a bit disappointed they don't have the 1/2 serving of Mussels anymore.
Food was awful, tasted like it was made yesterday, then reheated today.
Waited an hour for a mediocre meal
What a disappointment !!! I have never experienced such poor and unprofessional service, and never paid $17 for a beer !!! Half of the things that appeared on the menu were not available.
I had been wanting to try this place for a while now. It was a group of 6 of us meeting for brunch on a Sunday. We sat outside which was nice as it wasn't too hot out yet. We placed our orders and then it went south after that. Our drinks came out in spurts. Our food came out for everyone except one. That order was soup and salad. It took asking twice before the last meal actually came out. I don't know if they were understaffed or if that is the norm. I noticed other tables felt their waits were long too. The food was good but cold because we waited for everyone at the table to be served before eating.
I don't think I will be trying this place again.
lovely restaurant with nice outdoor seating. Great happy hour menu all week long not just limited to weekdays.
Excellent food as usual. Mediocre service as usual. The kitchen takes too long to bring out meals. We waited 30 minutes for ours, but they were excellent when they got there. I go here a lot when I go to the Kirk Douglas. There is a strip of about 6 restaurants on Culver Blvd. but this one is the best!!! The view is lovely. The patio breezes are lovely. Suggest going at an odd hour like 3:30 to get peace and quiet. :-)))
I thought my $30 pasta meal would come with salad, a soup... something! The meal was delicious, but $30 is way too expensive for a standalone meal.
Went for the AYCE Mussels... it was excellent.
I can’t say that I would, we met our friends there but were not greeted. We waited 25 minutes with no one coming to bring menus or offer beverages. It was not busy so that was not the problem. We decided to leave and only then did a waitress came to what the problem was. Sorry to say I had been looking forward to this place. I may give them a try another time.
Went for Sunday brunch. We were seated immediately (inside). No discernible AC. It was hot and noisy. We could not hear each other speak. After being ignored for 10 minutes, I flagged a busperson for water. We were sweating. After another 5 minutes, a waitress appeared and told us she thought somebody else had our table. We ordered. One of my guests received the wrong meal. We had to flag down someone. Another’s was taken to a table outside (and returned from there a few minutes later with no apologies or explanations). I sat with my sole delivered meal, which eventually got cold. Meals finally were sorted. More bus persons flagged for more water and coffee. Waitress never returned to check on our meals. And the coup de grace- the food was awful. The crab on my cold eggs was off. The lobster sauce was a tiny spot of deep orange on the eggs. The game and cheese crepe w fried egg (one egg) was devoid of cheese. The eggs w salmon had no hollandaise in it. Nobody finished their meal. Had to flag someone down for the umpteenth time to get a check. Took ten long minutes before the waitress (after I yelled to her) took my credit card. She had no idea ours meals were misdelivered and misplaced. I would have spoken to a manager but doubt there was one. Certainly it was chaotic and poorly run enough...
The first time I ate here, was so painfully noisy inside. This time, ate on the patio, and when we moved our table away from loudmouth next to us, noise was improved. Our server was simply lovely and thoughtful.
To EIP management, Please work on noise level inside so we can enjoy ourselves in cooler weather. Thanks
Great restaurant. Staff always remembers us and always takes great care of us. It’s our go-to spot for special celebrations. Love it. Food is always great.
the food was awesome and our waitress was engaging a fun - I think she was from Croatia - which like a couple of dumb Americans we thought her accent was French - LOL - anyway - she was fantastic and also had another waitress who introduced us to some new wines we have never had before. Kudos to everyone at MEET!
Charming Parisian style bistro, very good service with good value menu
A fun place to dine before a show. Delicious food, although the menu can be limited. Service is generally good, but can be erratic.
It was pretty good food. Place was out of several items on the menu that we were planning to order.
Fantastic as always!
This is one of our favorite dining places in Culver City. The food is excellent, the service is terrific and the ambiance evokes some of our very favorite Parisian restaurant experiences. High recommend!
We have been going there for several years since it opened and we are never disappointed. Great neighborhood restaurant
This restaurant now adds a 20% service charge to every tab. We missed the small print on the menu and were surprised, as this hadn’t been the case before. Service wasn’t up to speed as it has always been before. Our order was wrong and it took a long time to catch the attention of the wait staff and get what was ordered. Very awkward! We have always liked the food and ambience a lot. This time we were pretty disappointed.
I felt that the Coq Au Vin portion was too skimpy for the price and I am not a big eater!
They made an error on the wine which was quickly corrected.
My friend had to send back mussels, because they were either all closed or practically empty. The waitress did bring more that were better.
We enjoy the Parisian ambiance, but there is a way to go on providing good food.
About as close as you can to duplicating a café in Paris without the ten hour plane ride! Onion soup delicious and NOT salty as many other places prepare. The fresh salmon quality in the salad I ordered was outstanding. Very charming w/fair prices.
It's a nice place to meet a small group of friends for a quiet and tasty meal.
Our server was quite attentive, unlike some other reviews. The food was average to good, and the desserts were disappointing. Their drinks were overpriced. All beers are over $10; my herbal tea was $4.50. Their teas come in teabags, not loose like in real Parisian cafes. I didn’t even get to drink it since it came very late with our bill. The decor is “Parisian.” The inside can get cold because all tables are their underneath numerous AC vents, so a light jacket is recommended. With so many other restaurants in downtown Culver City, we do not have a desire to go back again.
Good happy hour menu and food. The host and food runner were nice and courteous.
But unfortunately the waitress who took our order was impatient, unfriendly and not helpful. She needs to be retrained.
The perfect place for brunch! Delicious mussels, onion soup... Vive La France!
Great service, free Wi-Fi and fantastic staff. The ambiance is exactly like a place in Paris!
Nicole took care of our table with the same memorable attentiveness as she had exactly one year ago. The interesting menu includes more than bistro standards. Nicole's recommendation, the evening's special, salmon with lobster coulis, grilled asparagus and potato puree was perfection. The delicious peach crepe for dessert was big enough for three! Yes, Paris: tight terrace table placement adds to the casual and friendly atmosphere, Street parking was not a problem. The evening was so easy, so hassle-free, a total pleasure, We will return more frequently.
Nice and quiet spot. Feels like eating in a Paris bistro.
Haven’t been here in a couple years & took a friend after raving about it! Still as amazing & delicious as I remember! Best steak salad & of course petit Chablis!
The ambiance was nice - it felt like a sidewalk cafe in the heart of Culver City. Unfortunately they were understaffed and our server was stretched too thin. Used plates stacked up on the table. The steak was a bit over cooked for medium rare. Initially we were told that the 50% off wine on Sundays were offered only if everyone in the party ordered entrees, but they made an exception since we were a larger party and ordered appetizers.
