Good food. Great mussels. Beware they do not tell you the kitchen is closing at night and when you try to order dessert or coffee they abruptly tell you the kitchen is closed. Happened on two different occasions so not a one time thing. Still recommend overall if you like French inspired cusine.
Wonderful as always. The salmon Benedict was amazing (and I don’t even like tarragon). My husband loved his lobster omelette but wished it had been crab. (Hint, hint)
Servers were nice. Food was decent. I recommend the bottomless mimosas if you have a Designated driver
I’ve been a fan of the restaurant in its former, smaller incarnation, for years. Now that capacity has vastly grown due to the expanded outdoor seating, they may be short-staffed. There was a big brunch crowd yesterday, and service was really below par. It was a hot day, but it took us at least 20 minutes to get any water, after asking at least 2-3 times. I heard other tables complaining about service directly to the server. This was a big birthday brunch for a friend (the restaurant also dropped the ball for a birthday dessert) so it was embarrassing. Food is still good. I’ll try it again. But they need to improve service ASAP.
First time dining here! My date and I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food. It was definitely busy, as expected for a Sunday brunch hour, but they could definitely use another server. We felt as if the servers could not catch a break with that many customers/tables. With that said, the servers did the best the could and provided wonderful table service.
Would definitely come back here for future dates.
Awesome ! Great food ! Music a little bit too loud !
My wife and I have been fans since this splendid bistro opened. We used to live up the street so it was a regular spot. We are both mussel lovers. I have never, ever in all my globe-trotting encountered a kitchen that could serve up such an extraordinary array of tastes and flavors in its niche. We are almost always mussel customers. But on the occasion we go for steak tartar or steak fritte the kitchen delivers. We moved away from the area. So we revisit when we can. Tonight we had illustrious guests visiting from NYC. Broadway stars. We took them here. Sebastian and his crew can receive no higher compliment than native New Yorkers calling it the best bistro they’ve ever dined at in the states. So, Seb, you have some work to do to be the “best” anywhere!!! Thanks for all you do! Chris & KC.
We sat outside and enjoyed the food, the ambience, and the great music by Chloe and her French jazz band. Very good service, especially considering how busy it was and the difficult time restaurants are having getting enough staff. It made for a really lovely evening, and we will definitely go back. We were looking forward to mussels and steak frites, and were not disappointed! It did feel like meeting in Paris, which is wonderful!
Muscles not as fresh, 1/4 were closed inedible. Lots of bugs biting our legs. Several ppl requested being moved from next to the tables by the sewer/curb on the street. Took a long time for return from waitress even though it was kinda empty. Drinks were VERY watered down wouldn’t answer when asked if they still do the all you can eat muscles. Waitress was very nice but didn’t see her much.
Love the authentic French flavor with baguettes and menu. Had the Escargots that was plenty with butter and garlic, as well as the duck mouse. Both delicious. Ruby, our server, was very courteous and helpful. We would do again. Thank you.
Lovely table in the garden — very French street scene vibe… excellent food and service… extremely enjoyable
Definitely not French Cuisine, but food was still good. Outdoor area is on a blocked portion of the street, but ambiance isn't very intimate
good service good food. And good drinks
I will come back again
This is our second time to Meet Me in Paris. Due to COVID there was a lovely table outside. The food was excellent and wine was excellent. We had a wonderful mix of items. Artichoke, blue cheese puff pastry, French onion soup and bouillabaisse. All of the food was wonderful. Found it a bit disheartening that they charge for bread, especially when I ordered a bouillabaisse. I was able to get the bread since oysters didn't open they comped bread. Also, sangria was a can. Would have been nice to know before ordering. Service was not as good as in the past but that is true everywhere right now due to pandemic. Overall, still and excellent dinning experience.
Mussels taste bad, calamari over cooked and dry, crab cake is over cooked as well
Came here for our anniversary and it didn't disappoint. The only draw back was the ceaser salad. They give you Lettuce stalks and not Lettuce, you barely get the leafy part which is annoying. Otherwise we were satisfied and would return.
Excellent, tasty, rich French dishes in small portions
We really liked the food - the scallops with risotto (outstanding), the truffle fries (who knew they came with cheese!?!), the steak tartare, mussels with mushrooms and truffle sauce. Unfortunately, contrary to the Open Table advisory, there was no valet parking right by the restaurant, and my husband's bad knees had to struggle with a walk of several blocks - if only we had known! The pedestrian-only mall was a surprise that even Waze couldn't navigate. If you're serving a sauce-rich dish like those excellent mussels, the waiter should warn you in advance that it doesn't come with any bread or toast points. We were still glad to try a new place - not cheap, but fun, and great tasting French bistro food.
The food was overpriced for what it was and often bland and uninspired. Very disappointed.
I miss the original menu, but it was still a pleasure to dine there. One of my favorite places. A tad pricey for what we ate, but not too crazy. Try "Happy Hour" which they generously offer every day of the week, a pleasant surprise.
We are French and it is one of our favorite places in town.
Highly recommended 👌
The only truly negative had to do with being seated right next to the bus lane on Culver. Everyone seated there asked to move The buses wize by and the tables shake. The noise is deafening So chairs in that area were very uncomfortable. Chairs right by the actual restaurant are much more comfortable.
Service was amazing! The food was delicious! One hiccup was that one French onion soup came out kind of late but no big deal. Enjoyed seating outside.
Unfortunately, we were very disappointed in our experience at Meet in Paris last evening. It was surprising because prior to Covid, we always enjoyed our meal and service at this restaurant. They must have been understaffed and overbooked. The hostess was filling in as a server during certain points of the evening. She once brought a glass of white wine asking who ordered the cosmopolitan. Then tried to say that the white wine was the cosmopolitan! The actual server was very nice, but was covering too many tables, forgetting to bring items that we had requested, drinks, clean plates, extra napkins, etc. He was very apologetic but it was not our typical experience at this restaurant. Our food was tasty, but the grilled artichoke was slightly under cooked. One other thing that was bothersome to me is that the outdoor wooden tables were very sticky and felt dirty. I did not want my silverware to touch the surface. White table clothes would be a great improvement. Sorry to be so negative, but I was so surprised that I thought I should mention it so they can make some need corrections.
Our first time here. Our server was really great. The “cocktails” are mocktails Wine based margarita 🤔?
so beer n wine is your best option
Blue cheese puff pastry was delicious as suggested by our waiter. The artichoke and tiny and tough not as good as they sound. Pass on those. Lobster bisque was the bomb! My sea bass was ok. The salmon was ok. Truffle fries ok. A little pricey but understandable after the pandemic but not really worthy. Al fresco dining is great but the cars going by are way to fast for my comfort level. Oh and the bread was super great!
Loved the seafood boullebaise and boeuf bourgnignon. Other dishes like the chicken dijonnaise were decent. Did not like the scallop risotto. The service was so so, as I had to ask for things multiple times and our server seemed to disappear for a moment. Also, the moment when the waitress, clearing off the table next to us, whacked a handful of crumbs towards us. Again, service could use some improvement.
How do you NOT have oysters on Wednesday when that is your Wednesday special ? The explanation was that they forgot to order them
The menu has changed and includes only tapas. The tapas were OK
The server was doing his best but they were clearly understaffed
My entree came within 15 minutes, however my friend’s did’t come for 45. I think the waitress forgot to put in his order. They took it off the bill, but it put a damper on the experience. The food was good. When it finally came. Also wish they had a full bar, the wine selection was limited.
The place was so dirty like nobody cleans anything
Food wad cold as hell
Who would eat mussels cold !!
And the baguette , nothing like french , bought probably frozen package from Sam’s club and baked 1/2 way
It wasn’t fully even baked
I will never go again
Specifically that we could smell the pie from probably around the area (homeless) 😞😞
Great place for special celebrations...or anytime you are looking for a great place to have a meal.!
Food: We grabbed a few various dishes to try which were all very good but their MUSSELS!!! Amazing. They were so tender and well cooked, we can't wait to return again.
Service/Drinks : There was a brief mistake with the cocktails which our waitress corrected and she was so lovely and helpful. They were also a little watered down, but that was fine. The food was just so good it kind of made the night great.
Downside: The table was STICKY and pretty gross, our clothes literally kept sticking everytime we leaned close to it and had to try not to touch it. A table cloth would be helpful and we'll ask if it happens again. But honestly, again, the food will keep us coming back!
Bad slow service pretty good food but won’t be going back for awhile
Fun vibe with outdoor music and outdoor dining. Food was really good!
Lovely atmosphere. So nice that they provide live music. Have eaten there twice this week. The only thing I need to say is - it's so nice that they serve raw oysters, but I honestly feel they really should be served on crushed ice. These are warm evenings, and, well, ice was needed for the food safety, I do believe.
This place is French Tapas. And I was disappointed that the waiter was ultra pushy in getting us to order more. I had been having some stomach issues personally and didnt appreciate being badgered to order more and more dishes that were tiny and $19 each. Very annoying.
This place is good HOWEVER I took wayyy too long for our server to take our order & they don’t serve hard alcohol so if you want to take shots 🥃 good luck they don’t have a regular bar. And the bugs was way too much … there was a fly in my water & a dead fly on my plate…… Plus their a/c didn’t work. Overall, still a good place to go if you’re looking for a nice sit down if you don’t mind the flies 🪰 ( it is outside in a tent so yea they couldn’t help that too much).
The food was good, the drinks were pretty good, the only downside is that the waitress was busy so we didn’t get our waters till halfway through our meal. It was a busy day so I felt really bad. She also brought our refill waters at the end of our meal.
I thought the brunch selection was lacking. Too few selections
Our waiter was extremely rude and angry. The food and drinks were not up to par with our other visits and the music although wonderful was extremely too loud. I was very disappointed.
Amazing food and less expensive than initially thought it was going to be! Not necessarily tapas as the entrees are decent portions.
Food was fine, drinks were ok. My Niçoise salad was overdressed, had no green beans, and the tuna was shredded tuna from a can. Service was horribly slow. We weren’t sure if the server was hungover, sick, or just didn’t want to be there. Had to find the server or flag him down to order our drinks, our food, and ask for the bill. The bread came to the table at the same time as our food. Server appeared to forget the food for our son as well. It was a meh experience. We won’t be back.
