Medium Rare is an award-winning, iconic, full-service restaurant famous for its French-influenced steak and frites (fries). The restaurant offers a three-course prix fixe meal, featuring a flavorful fresh mixed green salad, artisan rustic bread, hand-cut fries, and the main course—scrumptious Coulotte steak topped with a secret sauce. Medium Rare also offers a variety of decadent desserts, such as the 7-layer chocolate cake, the 7-layer carrot cake, and their legendary hot fudge sundae. We have been to MR several times and our server Andy made our night extra special. He was very attentive and walked us through all the drink options we had. He always had a great attitude and was a delight to talk to. The steak was great per usual and we had a wonderful night. Until next time!

If you make a reservation, they do not actually reserve a table for you. We came on time for a reservation and the hostess said “sorry a bunch of people showed up right before you.” I was speechless. Don’t let people make a reservation if you don’t reserve tables! She said there were people finishing up and it would be twenty minutes… we decided to wait and were given a table 45 minutes later. I asked what was going on and she said they couldn’t make people leave even if they were done eating and not ordering anything additional. Actually, yes, you can! I asked when we sat if the entrees could be brought out quickly, the waiter said yes and they were brought 45 minutes later. This restaurant only serves one thing! I asked how long the second round would be and they said it would be quick and it was 35 minutes. Just tell the truth! The overall incompetence probably means I will never go here again even though the food is tasty and it’s close by.

IT IS EXPENSIVE VALUE WISE. SERVICE WAS OK - EXTRA ITEMS ARE EXPENSIVE AND TASTE IS BLAND. AMBIANCE IS JUST ABOVE FAST FOOD.

Good service from Sheamus, steaks cooked to correct temperature. But cheap, thin cuts of meat and overly cooked fries, over-sugary cocktails, and over dressed salad. Felt like a fast-food steakhouse experience.

Medium Rare appears to be a different take off the famous steak, frite restaurant Entrecôte (in NYC, Paris and Montreal). Overall, I thought it was very good. If I had to rank them Entrecôte would definitely come out one top. Reminder that this restaurant only serves steak frite and french fries, with a starter salad and some great drinks. This is the best steak frite I’ve had in Massachusetts. The salad was excellent, and the fries were OK. The special sauce was excellent as well which I put on both the steak and fries. The service was attentive and very friendly and I quite quick which we appreciated. Probably my biggest complaint for a high-end restaurant like this is the music was very loud. I couldn’t hear the person diagonally across the table. I wish they turned it down. Also the steak frite was excellent, but I wish they trim the fat on some of the pieces more carefully otherwise I can’t say enough good things about it. I would recommend this restaurant and think the fixed price is pricey but worth it and good attentive service. Just ask for a place away from the speakers - maybe outside.

Food was excellent, staff was very friendly and helpful. Volume inside was very high but we were able to sit outside which was much quieter.

The bread may have been the star of the show. The salad was very much over-dressed. The first round of steak and fries was cooked as marked on the table. The second round was a bit overcooked. If you aren't a fan of salty fries, ask them for a fresh, unsalted batch. I may go back and try brunch, but I'm not in the area often.

Good steak but not great. Some of it was too chewy. Fries were also good. Bread and salad were very good. The meat portion may seem small at first but you get a second serving of steak and fries after 10 minutes of so.
