Medium Rare - Bethesda
Service was great and we really enjoyed our brunch. Pricing was reasonable and the food was delicious.
This was a delightful experience to in-restaurant dining - the first since Covid closed restaurants. We chose to eat outdoors. Our server was fabulous, portions were great, everyone devoured BOTH portions. Cocktails were delicious (strawberry-infused lemonade, yeah!) We felt like humans again! We'll be back! Special thanks for recognizing my husand's birthday with that fabulous big sparkler! There's joy in the world again!! Thanks, Medium Rare! (even though we'll medium-well diners...hee, hee).
THIS PLACE IS BOMB! THE FOOD IS AMAZING!
My friend and I ordered the French toast and steak and eggs. We practically licked the plates! lol! Our service was great and appreciated that our server had an N95 mask for his and our protection. I did feel that the tables could have been another foot apart, but it was ok since we dined outdoors.
The food was amazing! We sat outside and it was great! Service was awesome!
We LOVED our meal! Reminded me of one of my favorite meals of all time in Paris! We are so happy to have discovered Medium Rare!
Love the food and service
This place is awesome, wish there was one (or more lol) in the Baltimore area!! A gold mine!!!
We waited a very long time to be served our main course - about 15 minutes waiters came by and said the food would be brought soon - there were not a lot of customers - I really don’t understand the problem. We have gone there many times and have enjoyed ourselves will think twice to go back.
Birthday dinner for my daughter and niece: great meal and great setting abs great service. Everything was fantastic and topped with sparks!
We had a terrible experience. Steak was undercooked or overcooked. Eggs were cold. Salad was freezing and service was terrible. Enough said. Not going back. At least not to Bethesda.
Fun vibe - good food, but very limited menu.... Staff was very courteous :)
Good Food, cooked just right. Free second helpings always a good way to walk away full!
What a wonderful find. I loved the food, the service, the value and the ambiance. Look forward to visiting again soon!
The food was great as usual, however the service was ok. Our waiter mixed up our drinks at the table and acknowledged it, however did not fix it. Additionally we waited much longer for our food than tables nearby that had been seated after us, which was frustrating because the menu is prix fixe.
It was just what my grandsons wanted.
A little loud on this Saturday evening, and the service was a bit slow. But Medium Rare does one thing... and does it well. The steak was prepared to order, and the fries served as the perfect counterpoint for the rich meat and sauce. The chocolate layer cake capped off a delicious meal.... may have been the richest and best I’ve tasted in years!
Just delicious! A very nice food experience and great service.
Not usually a fan of prix fixe, but there is something to be said for choosing a specialty and sticking with it. Bread, salad, and steak frites are about as straightforward as you can get, but Medium Rare carries it off. The artisan bread was terrific, as was the simple salad. My steak was prepared perfectly, and served with a delicious sauce and crispy frites. I was pleased with the portion size - and when a server showed up with seconds, I simply had it boxed to go. Great spot for families with picky eaters - nothing exotic going on but tasty meat and potatoes.
Probably won’t make it a regular stop on our restaurant rotation (prefer a bit more choice) but Medium Rare exceeded expectations.
I was there with my three young sons and the waiter charged us for 4 adult entrees. One son didn’t even eat steak and he knew it! We also told him it was our first time at the restaurant. The manager corrected the bill and apologized but it was still very annoying.
This was our second visit at the Bethesda location. Everything was perfect. The salad was perfectly dressed, the bread was perfectly flaky, the fries were perfectly salted, the steak was perfectly medium rare, the Shirley Temple was perfectly grenadined (lol), and the sparkler sundae was a perfect finish. The greeter and servers were perfect too!
Great service and great food!
Fun, solid but VERY loud. Also, be prepared to wait at least 1/2 hour past your reservation on a busy night.
Very good experience. Cozy place
We were seated almost an hour after our reservation and then it took another half our to be served food. The food was very good, however. I might try again on a week night but never again on a Saturday.
Once we were seated it was worth the trip. But we didn’t get seated for an hour after our reservation on a Saturday. Very good meal worth the wait. Very good value.
We had a7:00 reservation and weren’t seated until 7:40. This is the second time I have has dinner reservations at Medium Rare Bethesda and we were seated 40 and 45 minutes late both times.
We have 7 pm reservations and we’re seated at 8:10 pm
This was our first time dining at the Bethesda location. It's very nicely laid out and the temperature was comfortable. The hostesses were nice and the servers were friendly and attentive. The meal was perfectly prepared and the drinks were kept refilled. I'd say it was a highly satisfying dining experience overall.
Great service, friendly staff. Music was a little loud but overall a great experience!
we reserved our table for 9:15 and we sat at 10:15, nobody even came to us and apologize. They over booked
Waited 45 minutes for a table
Disappointed that even after making a reservation 7 days in advance, we had to wait for an hour to get the table on Valentine’s Day. It seemed like they were seating people on first come first serve basis instead of recognizing the reservation.
While it was Valentine’s Day and a bit busy, we did not get seated until 9:50 for an 8:45 reservation. An hour wait when you have a reservation?!! Ridiculous. Not only did we have to wait, the restaurant did not offer us a drink or any compensation. I will return to Medium Rate... because I like the food, but never again on a holiday or on traditionally busy days.
Our table for two was inconveniently sat directly next to the front door. People kept funneling in and crowding around our table while waiting for theirs. I couldn’t even take a sip of my drink without someone bumping into my arm. At one point someone even had the audacity to sit on our table while we were attempting to eat our dinner. When we addressed the issue with the manager, she was extremely dismissive of the situation and couldn’t care less. She told us, “I don’t know what you want me to do, I can’t do anything about the crowd”. Worst service ever received. I understand places are busy, especially on holidays, but a good manager would’ve done what they could’ve to avoid that situation from ever happening.
Overall a good experience for a casual Valentine's dinner. The bread was excellent. The main course was very salty (particularly the fries).
We knew they offered a limited menu and expected it to be crowded and loud for a Friday night Valentine's Dinner. It was all of that but the food was great and it was a charming dinner in an upscale cafe setting. Round 2 on more steak and frites was a welcome surprise.
Medium Rare is our go-to restaurant for casual family special occasions. Very much what you see is what you get, but what you get is always high quality and delicious. The dessert is amazing, but recommend sharing them as portions are huge (cake and sundae). Our tween loves it, as do we.
Food was great. Had a reservation for 8pm. Wasnt seated until 8:30pm.
