Medium Rare - Arlington
I’ve never had a bad meal here. The food and service are consistent, and it’s a pleasure to support a local restaurant that gives back so much to the community.
Very pleasant experience. Food was very good, as usual.
Servers were confused with seating chart. Multiple servers came to table with wrong order. Food was cold, fries were soggy. Overpriced and overcooked steak
Loved this restaurant the first time, but last night the meat/potatoes were not hot. There was a long wait after we were seated too. So although I've recommended this place before, I cannot anymore.
Very reliable and excellent service. Family loves it.
Waitstaff did a fantastic job, very polite and efficient. The outdoor patio is a wonderful setting and we will be back again soon!
We celebrated our anniversary at Medium Rare Arlington last night and it was perfect. The staff was attentive, and food was delicious, and the overall experience was exactly what we wanted. It was the perfect beginning to a fun night in DC. Thanks, Medium Rare!
Usually a consistently good, reasonably priced dinner. Tonight the bread was rock hard, the steak wasn't the right temperature and the service was lackluster
Good food, friendly service but a bit sparse. They could have used more wait staff to remove dirty dishes between courses.
Great food, really bad sound! Concrete floors and loud music made it hard to hear one another.
The music is a little too loud, hard to carry on a conversation. Normally the meat was tender, tonight meat was a little bit tough to chew. We still enjoyed the evening though.
We sat outside on a hot night but it was very breezy and comfortable. Medium Rare does one thing and they do it very well. I've stopped ordering Steak Frites anywhere else because I'd rather return to Medium Rare.
Great stop along the road.
The serving personal were prompt but not intrusive. Perfect
Food was excellent my dining companion had triple fries. They are that good. Remind me of fries. In Belgium
Good steak, great fries. Friendly staff. Nice relaxing early evening meal
Best deal ever for a boozy brunch
Great birthday celebration
Great tasting tender steak cooked just right and wonderful slightly crunchy fries! Table service was average- the young waiter took our order without noticing one of our places didn't have napkin & silverware set. Also they lost track of my Opentable birthday note. Lots of attentive wait staff so service was quick and we never felt forgotten.
Took our daughter, husband & 2 grown grandsons to get together before leaving on our family vacation, to discuss last minute details. They loved it as much as we did the first time we went.
Service with wonderful. Very attentive, but the food was fantastic. As my daughter said,”it is all the things I like the most in one meal. The steak, shoestring for, salad with a great light mustard vinaigrette & the bread & butter, like you get in France.
We shared a slice of key lime pie & carrot cake. Both were tall & delicious.
My only complaint is that a group of guys, way over on the other side of the restaurant were so loud, we could not hear ourselves talk at our table. They left shortly after & then it was fine. I think the high ceilings bounce sound across the room.
Despite that short period of noise, we had a great dinner & evening. Thank you.
Delicious . Enjoyed everything, from the steak, cooked to perfection, crispy shoe string ff, my favorite type, the salad, especially the dressing ( my husband does not like salad, but cleaned his plate) & the best bread & butter.
Desserts looked yummy, but too full to partake. Maybe next time.
The food was good but I suppose service goes a long way for me. I felt like the attitude was to get rid of my group as quickly as possible. It’s never good to feel like you’re a burden while dining out. I did not expect perfection but did expect better.
We tried the brunch at MR for the first time and unfortunately the food and the service were not as good as dinner. The bottomless mimosas were fine, but I'd rather have my meat and fries topped off (which they don't do at brunch).
Service was good. Meal was yummy. Carrot cake - delicious!
We sat outside and it was full of trash. Not very appealing.
Food is pretty tasty. The ambiance and service are like a fast food place, but that’s understandable for the price.
I made a last minute 3-party reservation on Father’s Day but it was for my sister’s birthday. We were sat 10
minutes prior to our reservation and we’re able to get through our service in within an hour! The food was delicious; the strawberry Tito’s drink was well made and the second round of food was a delightful surprise. I’ve worked in hospitality and mother (who was also present) owns a restaurant. We were both thoroughly impressed by how well executed the service was. We can’t wait to go back.
Went for Father's Day. Had a reservation but when we arrived, they had to "find a table" for us. The hostess seemed very good though and the entire staff seemed to really be working hard, but maybe a overwhelmed. Got stuck with tons of extra dishes on our small table because there was no one to clean them off promptly between courses. The food though -- horrible! Got their "famous" steak and egg benedict. Tasted more like liver than steak and both husband and I felt like we were eating canned dog food given how it looked. Very soupy with essentially raw eggs on top. It was bad. Fries were good. Fruit and parfaits were good. It was super loud in there -- playing heavy metal on a Sunday morning with a family crowd celebrating Father's Day. Even husband (who loves heavy metal) commented that it was odd. Don't plan to ever return.
Great deal on brunch drinks! The food was decent overall. What does stand out is the French toast, which was a huge portion!
Had a reservation and was seated in about 3 minutes. But without a high chair. Understandable because it was Father’s Day. Server was nice. Forgot a few things but again, understandable. Food was amazing as usual. Sat outside which was fun! Especially with 2 young kids!
Waiter had zero experience. Nice kid but needs a 101.
The salad is good, with a nice dressing. The bread is really good - classic, crusty French style bread. The steak and sauce, as well as the fries, are quite tasty. The portions are small: the dinner plate is slightly larger than an appetizer plate, but smaller than a dinner plate - presumably to give the impression that the portions are large. But the steak is sliced really thinly and fanned out, so is is probably 3 to 4 ounces by weight. They do provide a second helping, but even with that, the total serving is probably not more than 6 ounces of meat. The service was incredible slow. For a restaurant with no choices (except for drinks or dessert), you would think they could get the food out at a decent pace. But it was about 40 minutes from arrival before we got out salads and about 55 minutes from arrival before we got our steak. The drink service was also slow. Some of the servers were quite friendly and helpful, but some (surprisingly the ones who appeared to be in charge) were less friendly and in some cases had some attitude. Overall, it was a good experience, and I likely will give Medium Rare another chance in the future.
We were disappointed the meat was not as tender as in past visits. The salad and frites were great. Our cocktails were under-whelming and costly.
Excellent service and delicious food. Server was very attentive to our needs. Highly recommend.
We had a wonderful time at medium rare. Our server was fabulous! The food was also fabulous! We will definitely be back. It was a special treat for out of town guests to enjoy it as well.
Our waiter was cut but forgot to turn the table over to another waiter, so we sat for 20 minutes, waiting.
Great place to go! They forgot it was my birthday but it was a great experience otherwise.
Slower service to tables, especially waiting on check and drink refills but overall fantastic
Some of the wait staff had a hard time remembering that we preferred carbonated water as opposed to “still” water, and kept trying to refill our glasses with the latter.
Always have a wonderful meal at medium rare restaurant. The meal is great for the value. It can be noisy at times inside seating but it’s a great restaurant to go to.
