We had a group of 7 on a fairly quiet Sunday evening at the restaurant to celebrate a Birthday. The food was outstanding - everyone loved their entrees - we had orders for the lamb, scallops, ravioli and chicken. The date and goat cheese appetizers were also a big hit. The restaurant supplied a complimentary dessert for my daughter for her birthday on a nicely decorated plate. We had a really good meal and good service - definitely recommend.
The food was delicious and well prepared, and our waiter was exceptionally patient and accommodating. My pasta with chili peppers and sausage and sharp cheese was unlike anything I've ever had, which was surprising as I've eaten a lot of pasta over the years. The balance of flavors and textures was perfect, and the chef wasn't afraid of heat. My family devoured all their food and did not share so I can't report on it.
the food and atmosphere was good don’t get me wrong but that was some of the worst service i’ve received! i made reservations beforehand for my mother’s birthday and even noted it in the reservation, yet upon arrival we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated and it was all the way in the back by the kitchen.... we didn’t have water until a solid 10 minutes after seated and bread took 30 minutes!!! on top of that, our waitress was forgetful with smaller things like taking away our dirty dishes and bringing out sharing plates with appetizers and bringing the correct knives and forks for meat etc. since it was my mother’s birthday we did get free dessert, but she was so forgetful she charged us still for it and we had to correct her. i love the food but that was just awful service and it wasn’t even our waitress alone i saw other tables angry annoyed faces with their service as well and no staff seemed to be in sight really unless for water or bread
Nice selection of delicious food and wonderful service
We loved it: hummus appetizer was beyond good; branzino & rack of lamb were terrific; baklava was over the top compared with others; the wines were also very good!
I took my family for Easter brunch and the food was exceptional
We went to Easter brunch here. Needed reservations. Brought to table near restroom entrance and asked for different table, which we were told "might be difficult as it is Easter brunch". Meanwhile, empty tables and booths were visible and we did have reservations. After a few minutes, we were moved to a different table but I wondered at the hesitation with empty spots and several parties of 2 already seated at similar booths. Anyway, food was excellent, a lot of variety and very authentic. This brunch is a little bit pricier but very nice, we were not rushed. I would recommend. 2 people, 2 Mamosas, $80. Special occasion.
All dishes were excellent. Everyone's food when it arrived, appetizers and main course, was hot. Server was extremely knowledgeable about every menu item we had questions. Prices were acceptable for the quality of food. Alcoholic beverages were a little high; well drinks are almost the same price as the handcrafted cocktails.
Love this restaurant! Food and service are great.
Love this place! Great food, great service. Don’t like the tables in the middle. They are too dark. No candles or anything. Otherwise perfect for business or dates, calm and quiet.
So love having Mediterranno nearby. Wonderful choices from Italy to middle eastern. We chose the wonderful Lemon Rice soup. The beet salad was wonderful. The Pear Salad can be counted on for a favorite.
The food was excellent as usual. The sardine appetizer, something you might be hesitant to order, is outstanding. The scallops and branzino were excellent but the braised short ribs were the best I have had in Ann Arbor, not to mention the fact that the serving was copious. Desserts beautifully round out the dining experience.
Our table was ready as soon as we arrived and our server was appropriately attentive during our meal, timely, but not hovering. One of us ordered the date small plate and a salad, another had the Greek lemon soup and spanakopita, my husband enjoyed the lamb gyros and I had the chopped salad. Remarkably, they all arrived at the same time, perfectly prepared except for the overcooked chicken in my salad. It was acceptable, but could/should have been better. All in all, it was an enjoyable meal and we’ll return.
The food and staff were great; however, the service was incredibly slow.
Overall it was a good experience and our waitress was great. However when we first arrived even though the place was relatively empty it took a few minutes for someone to greet us at hostess stand. Then ordering took forever because our waitress was also the bartender. Since we weren’t in any hurry this was fine last night. They seemed understaffed? The food tasted great. I feel that the prices of the main meals ($30-$45) doesn’t match the level of service and attentiveness would except. To feel comfortable paying that amount of money I would want better quality of “service” from entering the door. And side note, we were really cold at our seat. Even though booths were empty located on inside walls they placed us in front corner window booth - would would be great if on a sunny warm day but at 8pm in the winter in michigan is not the best option.
Living in the Birmingham area we chose to drive to Mediterrano to visit friends living in Ann Arbor. For appetizers we had crispy brussels sprouts and spinach pie. Both were great. For my entree I had the bronzino which was moist and delicious. My husband had chicken mediterrano which was a little dry but tasty. Others had dinner sized salads and enjoyed them. We will plan on returning again during the Ann Arbor Art Fair in July.
Excellent service , food and ambiance.
What I didn’t like was the silverware placed on the table after being wiped with a wet rag.
What kind of bacteria was growing on that rag?
I thought this restaurant had table cloths.
That was a turn off for such a elegant restaurant.
As usual an enjoyable dining experience. Staff always willing to answer any questions to help make the meal memorable. Have tried most of the menu and have not found anything that disappointed! Servers always have a smile and great attitude! Looking forward to going back to try another new dish :)
Calamari seemed to be breaded in cornmeal. Did not taste good. Risotto needed more flavor. Waitress was lovely.
Although it was later on Valentine's Day (8:45pm), the restaurant was only moderately filled (which was fine with us). Our server was wonderful, very knowledgeable and attentive. The food was delicious and the atmosphere nice. We will be back again sometime.
I took my wife for Valentine's Day at your restaurant. I have known Mediterrano since late 1990's. Then, the food was great, ambiance great too, good service. This time, I was shocked. Food was marginal, small portions, limited food choices. I have to say that the guy that served us, was great and he was trying to make us feel very good. That the only positive a I can say about our experience at your place.
Mediterrano's lamb chops are the gold standard. Perfectly trimmed and encrusted with pistachios (no mess cutting off fat like at other restaurants) and a balsamic glaze. +1 extra star if I could. You won't be disappointed.
The food and service were very good. The restaurant was very busy, but we did not have wait for service, drinks or food very long at all. would definitely recommend this restaurant.
Sons birthday and we were disappointed with many items......!
The hostess came by at the end of dinner and was told of our meal....?!
She only commented ........” next time it should be better “ ......hummm .....???! Well ....don’t think so as one of the three didn’t eat.......!!!! Will just tell ALL of our experience.....others may appreciate the HEADS UP!
Hope you might find this as a correctional review only........!
The service was a bit slow, but we were there to catch up with friends, so it was not a big deal to us.
Good food and service.
The grilled sardine appetizer was as outstanding as it is an unusual offering. The lamb rack and the grilled Branzino were also excellent. The wine list also stands out. The atmosphere is very comfortable and it is one of the few restaurants inn Ann Arbor where you can actually have a conversation and not worry about the noise level.
Enjoyed the special New Year's Eve menu. Duck ravioli were delicious! Talented chef.
Seafood dishes were fantastic. Wish they gave us bread to wipe the sauce with and complement the small portions. Very grateful for the quiet dining experience.
Our work group has made this our 'go to' restaurant for the last three holidays. Excellent food and great waitstaff. Highly recommend Mediterrano!
The person who was in charge of our table was wonderful!
We had a wonderful weekday dinner at Mediterrano. Both the food and service were top notch. I had the chicken under a brick and could not stop nibbling long after I was full. My husband had the pasta with spicy sauce snd three meats. The biggest reason we don’t go to this restaurant more we often is the lighting. This is a nice restaurant, good food, nice wines and great service. The price point is appropriate but the lighting makes me feel like I’m eating at Dennys. This is not what I want. It’s even worse when you get a table in the bar area.
All was well except that it took too much time to be served two salads for my friend and me.
Mary Ann our server was GREAT. Took very good care of us. Had a great table location for conversation. Food was excellent. Yummy bread. Octopus appetizer was very tasty. There was quite a difference in serving sizes for both the apps and entrees. Made some of us feel a little under-served. Big plate of lamb and a pretty small brick chicken.... 3 stuffed dates and this big mound of mussels. A pleasant evening all together. I'll be back.
Our entrees were excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our server. She was wonderful and we loved talking with her about Crete -- her home. The dinners were the best we've had at Mediterrano. We had a great evening. Thank you!
My wife and I went to Mediterrano on a football Saturday and it was pleasantly not packed.
The beer & especially wine selections were great. We went with small plates that were actually quite large. The Brussel sprouts, calamari and salmon were excellent and filled us up nicely.
Overall great experience, with nice quiet ambiance even on a game day.
One of our favorite restaurants. Creative and unique menu with great flavors. The bacon wrapped dates, octopus, and portobellas with Haloumi cheese are all great!
They did a wonderful Thanksgiving dinner! Well organized, excellent food and great service. We were impressed and hope they repeat next year!!! We would recommend to everyone. Kudos!
We went there for nice weekend dinner. Took 20 minutes to get the wine we ordered after we asked for it second time. I should not be too hard in the food as they hit the mark 50%. My husband ordered a pasta he has had before and he said it was as good as they have ever made it. I ordered the special, Greckian pork chop. It was terrible! I should have sent it back it was that bad. Tough as leather , over cooked. The veggies I found way too sweet. And the apargus was big, thick stocks that there tough. Of course the waitress, as always the way, asked, "how is everything tasting" before I even had a chance to taste it! I was so unhappy. Service was slow. I should have said something before we left but was just ready to leave. She should have known when she took my plate, I ate nothing! It was the special for crying out loud, you are supposed to get that right
The overall atmosphere of the place was great but we were very underwhelmed with the food. Calamari was very salty, the risotto was watery and my paella just didn’t taste fresh.
