Mediterranean Restaurant - Carmel
Food and service were good. The water served was tap water which was undrinkable.
Great food even better people.
Food okay. Nothing special. Very noisy. Interior design very dated. Salad skimpy. Lasagna tasty. Big open room. No privacy. Not good for intimate conversation or date. Would not rush back.
We were visiting from out of town - the staff is enthusiastic and attentive but it really can’t rescue the mediocre and dated food.
Christmas Eve and partial family reunion. Everything was outstanding!
My dad was visiting for 1 day so we took him to Carmel. It was a very nice place in terms of the vibe, food and service. They have live music, 2 managers stopped by to see if we having a good night and we got a complimentary dessert on the House. Highly recommend!
Good food, good value, great service and fun entertainment.
Such a great place to enjoy an exceptional meal, excellent service by all the staff, and the sounds of the culture. A memorable experience we will definitely enjoy when in Carmel.
Average food, expect more given the competition in Carmel.
Beautiful place and great food! Sister restaurant down street. Delicious aromas with Mediterranean any Greek accents!
Shared Taziki and pita plus gyro lamb on a bed of rice with a small greek salad. Very tasty AND satisfying. I had 2 glasses of wine with this. They were VERY generous pours at a very reasonable price. The server was friendly and efficient. This was very good value!
Best meal we have had in Carmel, and have been here a week! Perfect and scrumptious❤️👌
We had the best service in Carmel! We live there and have comparisons- trust me you wont be sorry! Amazing food!!
Wonderful hospitality, the waiters will play the drums, sitar and sing. Guest will dance. Lots of fun.
Excellent food. Noisy place and made much worse by allowing a troupe of Mariachi type singers to come through, play forever and beg for tips. Really annoying and out of place.
Wine list is overpriced.
very basic bland meal for Carmel, sorry. there are numerous other options for amazing food, skip this place.
Easy in and (too) quickly out. Would be great for folks in a hurry. Food came out really quick so felt precooked. Chicken kebob was dry and gyro meat sliced to thick. Wait staff was very friendly and attentive. Nice that owner stopped by the table to check on us. Nice touch was the bite of baklava after the meal .
We love the singing and dancing. It’s not a fancy romantic place but the food is delicious and its fun. We go fairly regularly and are always happy. Recommend the labneh
Everything about this little restaurant is charming. Comfy seating, a little crowded but that's part of the charm. The service was impeccable, especially at this reasonable price point. Very noisy and family oriented so if you're looking for a zen-like atmosphere this place will not be for you. It is a joyous cacophony of conversations, music, and proximity. I loved it. The only nit that keeps it from being a 5-star for me was that my lamb shank - one of the most expensive items on the menu and therefore deserving of great attention and demanding of high expectations - was overdone. It tasted great spice- and sauce-wise, just overdone. Everything else our party of four ordered was excellent. The apps were super tasty (baba ganoush, dolmas, soups, pita). Will definitely come back when we visit Carmel again.
Great restaurant, one of favorites!!
This is a fabulous restaurant in all areas: food, preparation, presentation, ambience, service. It is the sister restaurant of Demetra’s just across Lincoln Street. The food is scrumptious and the servings are generous. We are looking forward to returning.
Service fast friendly and food met expectations. Lively, friendly place and fun to go there.
An excellent experience from beginning to end! Everything: the food, the service, the overall feel, and the sense of being welcomed.
The food was average at best, not as tasty as I had expected and sloppily presented.
The food was just okay...but the LOUD, cramped setting was so distracting. We were at a table for two between two big groups of people in the back of this tiny restaurant. We had to yell to hear one another speak. The waiter brought the wrong thing to me as he probably couldn't hear my order.
The hummus was quite bland. The Greek salad was good.
Simply an awesome place. Awesome staff and they surprised my wife with a birthday celebration and sing a long.
Excellent food and hospitality....
Had a great time. Service was outstanding as they happily accommodated a special request for us.
Will definitely be back.
We’d indicated on our reservation that it was our anniversary. When we arrived, the hostess greeted us warmly and the server brought us each a complimentary flute of champagne with his best wishes. The smoked salmon appetizer was delicious and large as was the “Great Greek salad” entree topped with gyros and the Greek combination plate. As we finished our main course, a host who had been playing a tzouris, brought the cook out to sing “Besame Mucho”. The host came over to us & to another couple also celebrating their anniversary and encouraged us to stand up and dance, which we did. When we declined dessert, our server brought us a small, delicious baklava and said how honored he was that we’d chosen to celebrate our anniversary at the Mediterranean restaurant. It was an unexpectedly unforgettable evening. Kudos to the Mediterranean team for making it so special.
The food and service was excellent. There was always someone dropping by to make sure nothing was needed. The servers and managers (?) were very friendly. The only downside was how noisy it was inside. The food was delicious and the portions generous.
This restaurant is owned by the people who own Dametra Cafe, a Mediterranean restaurant up the street. We had been to Dametra’s a few years back, and I mistakenly thought that I was booking that place. This restaurant has the look and feel of Dametra, and the same menu, only the prices are a couple of dollars more, per item. It appears to be their overflow that takes open table reservations. That being said, if you're Looking for really good Mediterranean food in Carmel, this is the place to go! We arrived early, around 6pm And the restaurant was not busy, and the noise level was really low. We had the babaganoush appetizer, which looked a little whiter than traditional babaganoush, but was very flavorful. The lamb kabob plate came with rice, and Greek salad. It was very tasty. The Vegetarian plate, came with 2 falafels, that we’re a little dry, hummus, rice and Greek salad. The portions are very generous, so come hungry! They have a large menu, with something for everyone. They also have a nice wine list. This is a place that we will definitely come back to.
Visited over Memorial Day weekend. It was very busy, but the staff still managed to get our food our fairly quickly. The food was delicious and the service friendly. Fun place to come for a bday. There was a table celebrating a bday and the staff pulled out a string instrument, percussion instruments and sang a song and got people in the restaurant up and dancing.
Great food. Wife loved it. Great service.
This was the best dinner ever! Service and food were amazing and we had the best time here!
Food was delivered fast and was accurate. Friendly service. Lamb was cooked a little over but still very flavorful. Bread was warm, fresh and tasty.
Gute mediterrane Küche. Getränke Preise etwas überhöht. Aber das sind die Kurse in Carmel-by-the-Sea.
Great salads for lunch.
Great food and service. Excellent value for the whole family
Best mousaka and lasagna ever! Fun atmosphere - music, clapping, singing - a really fun place to eat
We had great service. We were there for an anniversary dinner. Shrimp skewers were delicious. The lamb shank was chewy and green beans tough. The owner listened to our complaint and might have made an adjustment if we hadn’t paid already.
