We were there for Sunday lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the dining experience. Selections were as described and in reasonable portions. its very easy to recommend Mediterra with confidence. A return visit is assured.
Every year we go to Princeton to listen to the Westminster Choirs sing at the Princeton Chapel for Readings and Carols. For the past couple of years we have been dining at Mediterra before the show. They have an outstanding restaurant, with great food and the people are so nice there. Recommend for any occasion. We live in Shrewsbury NJ where they just opened up a new place called Albarino. We are eating there next Sunday.
Our waiter was professional, helpful and very personable. He helped with some recommendations. The food was tasty (just a little too salty for my taste) and the ambience was energetic. This was not my first time at Mediterra and I will definitely be back when in the area.
Our party was quite large and we waited a very long time for our food. Almost an hour at lunch. Our server seemed annoyed and not very friendly. We were disappointed in the frittata that some of us had. Dry. No one asked how our food was after it was served. The burger was delicious. I have had delicious meals here in the past so I will be back! It was also so noisy we could not hear anyone at the table.
Food and service never fails to disappoint. It was a busy night and table was not ready but they promptly called me on my cell when it was. Service was just great. Food was terrific. There was even some strange occurances with fellow diners who left us with stories for years to come. Great night! Thank you!!
Fantastic meal with my sister on Saturday night after strolling though town decorated fir christmas. Everything from the martini cocktails, and mussels to start, to the scallop entree and pork shank entree was delicious. Beautiful ambience created a nice experience all around, with a lot of attention to detail. Total thumbs up!
This is my fourth time eating at Mediterra. The atmosphere is still warm and inviting; and the food is still absolutely delicious. The variety and diversity of the vegetables that are used in the dishes are flavorful and give the dishes more depth. In my opinion, this is one of the things that sets Mediterra apart from other restaurants. For a starter, I had the Tri Color Salad. I didn't know all of the vegetables that were used in that salad, but I can tell you it was absolutely delicious and fresh - I wanted more! The bread basket on the table is also a stand-out feature. I love the lighting - it's just right for evening dining.
I've been dining here for years and while the food is always been very good, I think in the past year or so it has gotten even better. A same that the service can be hit or miss. Also the noise level has always been high as there are so many hard surfaces. Recently I've also been bothered by tables that are simply too close together making private conversations impossible. All that said, the food will bring me back, but perhaps not quite as often.
Although the wine list may appear intimidating, the soft spoken sommelier from Tuscany always makes amazing recommendations. He recommended a Zenato Amarone which would have never hit our radar-it was amazing. He will proudly talk about the region, the grapes, the wine making process, etc so engage him in conversation and ask questions, his knowledge is endless. We enjoyed the mid range priced wine he suggested which paired well with our food and renewed our interest to further explore Italian wines. Great place to explore great wines with an amazing and one in a million“guide”!
Food is always good but also overpriced, as are the drinks. Would love to eat here more often if it was a bit more affordable. Seemed to be understaffed on this occasion, but that is not our server's fault. She was lovely. The atmosphere is always enjoyable.
