Absolutely awful. We waited 40 mins for 2 glasses of wine, a basket of bread and overly salted burrata. We had entrees in but we chose to leave due to the extremely slow and shoddy service - we weren’t going to wait another 40 mins for that food. I’m sure there are better places nearby to go to! Avoid this place.
We have dined there before but this time the food quality, taste, was extremely ordinary and disappointing.
Enjoyed dinner and food never disappoints
Attentive server, delicious food from a contemporary menu, also elegantly prepared. Patio seating made it feel private yet connected. Perfect for a celebration, special family gatherings, or private meal with a special person.
Very popular midweek lunch place. Menu was not as website presented so surprised us a bit. Good food and nice staff.
So delicious!!! The monk fish and mussels were outstanding!
I ordered the paella this evening, and the seafood had the "iodine" flavor. I did give it a fair shot and took about 6 or so bites, but I just couldn't handle the aftertaste. I didn't ask to have it removed from my bill, but I did send the food away and ordered the Med burger instead. I asked for a medium-well burger, but it was done a bit on the rarer side of medium-rare. Still it was edible and the seasoning was done well. It came with a side of fries. I also ordered the papas bravas, which was excellent! I had a few glasses of chardonnay.
The server was kind enough to take the order of paella off of my bill (since I didn't eat it). Overall, the evening was not as great as I had experienced the first time, but I'll be willing to give it another try since sometimes even great restaurants have a slightly "off" night.
Service was poor
Amazing experience again at Mediterra. Gorgeous ambiance (sat outside), great food (in particular loved the chilled pea soup, tuna / salmon tartare, my strip steak) and fantastic service.
As good as usual; great to be back! With tapas and single mains options there is much choice.
I understand that businesses are recovering and may be short staffed but maybe don’t take on more reservations. The two times I have been back within the past few weeks have been disappointing to say the least. The service was extremely slow. It might have just well have been self service. No drink refills, took 3 people to get one request that my son had to wait extremely long for to accompany his meal (hungry children are often impatient), and the quickest service was clearing our plates/ bringing back the check. I hate leaving bad reviews but want to give constructive feedback so others have a more favorable experience.
Great food, lovely ambiance and friendly staff
Birthday dinner was great and cocktails were unique and fantastic!
The octopus app was delicious
Seated us on the patio when it was cold and rainy, without even turning on the heaters before they left. When we told them it was simply too cold, they offered us a table in a corner of the bar--but said we had to be out in an hour and a half. Then they spent the rest of the night all but ignoring us. Food was alright, but we ordered sandwiches and no alcohol and bill was about $30 per person. Overrated/overpriced. And made us feel very unwelcome.
We celebrated our anniversary at Mediterra. First time there since the pandemic. We found the interior ok and not as welcoming as we remembered. The menu was less interesting than previous but still good. Our main dishes ( strotsapretti with shrimp and bronzino) were both excellent. However our appetizers and desserts were less so. Blueberry pound cake was dry, for example. The service was slower than we would have liked, but it was a busy Saturday night. That’s good, we want restaurants to stay around! Overall, a good but not great dinner in downtown Princeton.
Won’t dine there again. Why? Despite great food and service, after leaving a new, compact, black and expensive umbrella beneath my table in a dark corner of the room, the manger would not himself nor allow me to look under the table where new diners had arrived. The umbrella is lost. The staff could have checked for me. Small courtesy. This alone is reason enough, for me, not to return.
We enjoyed a delicious lunch of chilled pea soup and Cuban sandwiches and the service was very attentive. While the Cuban sandwiches are not as authentic as others I’ve had, the pork was delicious and the added twist of spicy peppers was a nice zesty surprise. Great location next to the parking deck. Reservations are a must (even for lunch) because this place gets very busy.
Great to be out with well spaced tables
Great place. Something for everyone.
Delicious food and attentive service in pleasant outdoor setting
We were seated immediately and all the staff were kind and accommodating. Food was excellent.
I gave it 2 stars for the following reasons:
1. My friend and I requested a table outside, which we were able to get. Once the hostess showed us to the table, he just left. The table was full of leaves and pollen, and I had to use my paper towel to clear
2. I selected the homemade spinach pasta with the braised lamb. The sauce was heavy-cream-based—a LOT heavier than expected. Maybe the chef had an off day, but it should not be the customer's fault. My friend had the burger, which, from what he shared with me, left a lot to be desired
3. The waiter was really friendly and expeditious, but it was not enough to make up for the rest of the experience
Always enjoy eating here. Great staff and love the Tapas. They have a great indoor area as well as outdoor dining and the red Sangria is really good.
Pleasant late brunch on the patio at Mediterra. Tapas dishes were very good, especially the hummus and burrata. All in all a nice meal and experience!
Everything was great, except the porch tables were not six feet apart. For those of us who are just beginning to leave our homes after over a year in Covid confinement, these safety measures are really important.
This is a great outdoor place with socially distanced tables, and many were covered by the awning so we missed the sweltering heat. Our waiter could not have been nicer and on top of our order. White sangria was superb! The tuna/salmon tartare and pea soup tapas were fabulous. Perfect Sunday lunch! Absolutely terrific!
Food was delicious and the service was great! I will definitely go back again.
Service was awful. Food was unseasoned and lacked flavor.
We have been going to Mediterra since it opened and have always enjoyed the overall experience. While the food was tasty, this time the service was sub par. an hour to be served our main meal, waiter was less than attentive. Had to get up from the table and look for a server to ask for some bread (twice) while we waited for our meal. Then realized at hoen they charged $3 for the bread :( Hoping this is a one off due to Covid and the lack of experienced staff. Food was tasty!
The restaurant has a very nice outside eating area,......BUT...
Bring your own food to enjoy the meal.....
My wife had a Mediterranean bowl....not good...avocado old...
I had the lamb pasta...lamb quite fatty....
Other places to try in Princeton...
It was a great experience and I highly recommend it.
Our food in the past has been very good - which is why we returned recently. This visit, I'm sorry to say, the food was somewhat salty and not up to previous standards.
Always great food. Lovely space i. An adorable town. Service was slow this time but always on my list for Princeton.
So great to return to an old favorite after 14 months at home!
Excellent service and food. Outdoor dining is fantastic. Great menu selection and wine list.
Amazing food! Dog friendly! Great waiters! Would definitely recommend!
We asked for extra bread 5 times different people. Got it at the end of the meal. Otherwise everything was excellent.
Delicious food, awesome service, good Covid measures. Red sangria was very good too! never a bad meal! I highly recommend 5em!
Great experience. Reservation was honored and even on graduation weekend the service and food beyond wonderful!
