Faultless food but appeared short staffed and had to wait almost an hour for tea and egg on toast. Long queues to pay at end and service staff touched the top of my glass and cup when putting them on the table when I’m about to drink from there.
The food is excellent - imaginative and well-executed. The two front of house members were of staff were obviously short-handed but doing a sterling job given that. The only down-side to Medicine is the loo. There were no hand towels and the loo roll is never put in the holder and the place looks tatty and a bit dirty.
The food was beautiful and served on time.
The space was clean and spacious.
The staff were lovely
Service very slow, waited 25 mins to even be offered a drink. Drinks then came out at same time as food. More staff needed. Food up to usual standard
Very clean and well spaced with very friendly ambience. Super food - good range and some extra twists to the tastes. Thoroughly enjoyable.
Food was delicious and the staff were lovely. Would definitely recommend and return again
Food was delicious, cakes are incredible!! just a perfect little place
This was my second visit. Not quite as pleasant as the first in the sense that I felt the meal wasn’t quite at the standard as the first time. Still good but presentation was less admirable and less in bowl. Table wasn’t cleared before we had dessert or before we left. Would still visit again and try another dish.
Another lovely breakfast
Food always good standard and service always excellent from the staff
Loved our quick bite of lunch and feel it’s vital to support this amazing local business. The staff, menu and service are consistently excellent and good value for money. Keep on doing your thing...your residents love you guys.
Wonderful food. Service was good. Attentive staff.
Booked table ordered coffee and cream scones was told has soon has we sat down we had only 30mins assistant came to take order 10 mins later the coffee came 10mins later still no sign of scones they came 15min later when she served us she said I need this table we said only just received the scones she said I will give u fifteen minutes very poor service won’t b returning service and quality has diminished to what was the normal practice defiantly will not recommend this medicine bakery codsall
Good luck trying to get served. We walked out. Woeful.
Always friendly and welcoming service and amazing food.
Fab food, service excellent, great vibe, very clean.
Excellent experience as always, lovely food, great service
When booked on line was sent confirmation that we had table from 12.30 to 2pm. On arrival was told could only have table for one hour! It took 10 mins to order and food arrived at 12.50, therefore leaving just 40 mins to have meal. We ordered coffee at 13.10 and was approached at 13.20 to be told we needed to leave table at 13.30, we hadn’t even received our drinks at that time. We left without our drinks. Very disappointed, the food is excellent but the service is slow. Normally more than happy to wait but not when they have a stop watch on your table. I’m a regular visitor, once a week for years except when they were shut for lockdown, even went there before it was under this management and was simply known as The Village. Won’t be returning, felt very harassed and rushed. Shame really as food is good.
This was the first time I have been to medicine since its re-furb and prior to the pandemic. I had booked a table through OpenTable, but it wasn’t made clear when making the booking, that they were one hour strict booking slots. When we arrived we were seated at probably the worst table they had created, from which had a view of the bakery prep store and was between the toilets and the sacks of flour one of which burst while we were there. Whilst his location had minimal noise level it also had zero ambience that you wanted to be surrounded by in what is a lively eating environment. Prices were higher than I expected saying that the food is of exceptional quality, had we not been moved out we would happily have had a second or maybe even third drink and a desert but one hour was just not enough time for this. Had I been Informed it was a strict one hour slot I would not have booked or would have booked a second slot as there was nothing stopping you from doing this, which seems ridiculous. Hopefully things will improve when regulations are eased, none of the above will stop me from returning I will just be better informed regarding requesting a table location and an extended timeslot.
The sour dough when toasted was very hard even the knife couldn’t cut it.
There was a sauce on the plate that wasn’t listed in the menu as I would have asked for it without.
The bacon was very delicious and the eggs benedict was the best I’ve ever tasted. 😋😋
We liked the privacy of the booth.
Service was excellent and we will be returning.
Ps. Please put prices on the cakes 🍰
Brilliant service and the food was amazing will definitely visit again.
Best place around. Lovely food. Lovely ambience. Covid careful.
Been here a couple of times before and normally impressed. We were sat for 20 minutes without anyone coming to take a drinks order, despite people who came in after us being served. Coffee took another 20 minutes to come and were barely warm. Food was ok, but not to normal standard (garnishes etc missing that are normally there and food not hot). No cutlery with food. Not sure if they were understaffed or it was just a bad day.
Great food & atmosphere. Staff were very friendly. Would definitely visit again.
Love it! I think it’s improved since maybe a year ago, the staff are so lovely and the food is amazing! Try the Cronut if you go or the matcha loaf, to die for! Will always go back now as it’s one of my fave places, just like the one in New Street (Bham).
I do enjoy the quality of the food but it’s way too overpriced for what it is. Also, there is a member of staff (a tall woman) who every time I’ve been, is so miserable. The service is pretty average but considering where they market themselves in terms of price, should be considerably better. I would go back but would go back more regularly if they fixed their prices and service.
Staff were rude and short. There was not enough staff, we were waiting for napkins etc for a very long time.
Food was delicious as always and staff were very friendly. Little error with our order but the staff were so apologetic and gave us a discount (which wasn’t asked for btw but much appreciated. The atmosphere is lovely and it’s nice and clean.
I was initially unhappy with our seating when there were obvious empty seating booths more within the open venue. Was reseated following a discussion with the attendant. She was very efficient, however lacked that friendly warm customer service...
Non of the attendants had hair nets and the lady that served us had long painted nails and long hair which want netted
This is a lovely place for a coffee and light meal or a pastry. The food quality is excellent.
Another fantastic breakfast from
Always good food and great service
Rude staff, very poor service and not made to feel welcome at all.
Had a lovely family breakfast
Great food great location and fabulous company
Lovely spot. Cakes are amazing. Food was fantastic
The food was great and the service was amazing, the staff were very friendly.
Food and atmosphere was great, good selection on full menu, however I reached out in advance to ask what the gluten free options were and got sent the menu. My Mum who is celiac chose the masala eggs which came with GF bread only to be told they didn’t have the bread on the day which was disappointing. Service was slow, there was an issue with the iPad ordering which I understand but we were told we would have to vacate the table at 3, accepting that as we were a little late but would then expect quicker service to take food order to manage the appropriate time scale.
One waitress was quite blunt and not as polite but our server was lovely.
Amazing food, amazing service our family had a great time.
Great food great choice
Definitely will be back
Super food , extensive menu — hard to choose ! Wonderful setting, mostly white with large plants scattered around. Friendly service.
Only tiny drawback was, we waited to pay at the table, told we had to pay at the till which also served bakery customers and the tables were not numbered.
Friendly, great service and amazing food. Would definitely recommend to others!
Service was polite but really slow. It took a while to be seated (despite having booked), a while for our order to be taken, a while for drinks to arrive and so on.
(Also the table smelled a bit eggy.) Perhaps the cafe is shortstaffed currently which led to the slow service.
The food was lovely however (7/10) and menu options are really varied and interesting compared to other cafes. Overall, we had a lovely time.
The atmosphere is really nice as it is booth seating with lots of natural light.
