Medici Ratings and Reviews
Nothing I read told me this resturant was IN a hotel. I would have prefered a standalone....the online menu is not current. I went specifically for the seabass and they no longer served it. I ended up ordering scallops and they were quite chewy and hard. Very unimpressive...No where near worth the price.
The resturant was very nice and elegant. I thought wow, this is going to be great! The food was excellent, cooked to perfectly and tasted like it should. The whole setting was nice, calm, and relaxing. Just what I was looking for on Valentines Day with my lovely girlfriend. The only thing was, our service was not nearly as good as I thought it would be. The manager was wonderful and very nice, but our waitress, not so much. She acted like she didn't want to be at work and only checked on us about 3-4 times during the evening, which was disappointing. Overall the resturant was excellent, just wish the service would have matched how good the food was.
We arrived at the time of our reservation and stood in front of an empty maitre d' station for several minutes. When the host finally arrived, we were ignored until everyone else had been seated. Once we were seated, the server brought some water and left without asking for a drink or appetizer order. 15 minutes later, she returned to take our orders, but had very little knowledge of the menu, wine list, or bar selections. There was a loud child in the booth adjacent to us, which did not help matters. The server was untrained. Our water was never refilled. The scallops were overlooked and rubbery. The steak was mediocre at best. Olive garden would've been better.
Honestly, I tried Medici because I waited so late to book for Valentines Day. I was pleasantly surprised by the atmosphere, very impressed by the food and enjoyed the quiet nature of the dining room. Wasn't ultra crowded, even on Valentines day, but I only think it was due to the fact hat it is inside a hotel. The food was great! Braised duck was amazing and my wife loved her lobster tortellini. We don't get out much, but I'd go back for sure.
I originally chose Medici because I needed a 1000 point reservation to earn my gift check. I'm so glad I went. The food was amazing. First, the garlic bread (with real garlic baked in) and served with olive oil and parmesan was fantastic. I had the rigatoni with sausage which was extremely flavorful and well balanced with a little bit of spice. My friend had the lamb chops--three delicious and very thick chops. The service was great--very friendly and attentive. The only think I would have asked for was a wider wine selection.
Great food and atmosphere. The ceasar salad and mixed green salad are truly excellent; the sauces are so yummy! The bread they bring out is so delicious; it has garlic in it and it's so fresh and yummy... really enjoyed the food... and our server was such a nice gentleman.:
Food was very good, although the scallops could have been hotter. The main criticism was a restaurant like this should have more refined service. Don't take the knife I used on a messy appetizer and put it back on the table for me to use for my main course! Clean off or cover the tablecloth when it becomes very soiled in eating the appetizer. Otherwise service was friendly and competent.
Service was awful. Restaurant was empty. Only one other table of diners on a Friday night, but we waited almost 15 minutes to even have drink orders taken. Waitress also did not come across as remotely knowledgeable. Not an enjoyable experience in the least.
Crab in crab cakes not cleaned of all cartilage and scallops not cleaned properly. Small wine selection and salads very overdressed. The temperature in the restaurant is freezing. Good restaurant if you are staying at the hotel for business and don't have a rental car, otherwise, make the drive to another place.
If you are attending an event at the Cobb Energy Center, this is a great option for a quick meal beforehand. Park in the self-parking section and then go to Medici. We loved the foccaccia bread with dipping oil and parmesan cheese that they just set on your table. No need to order the bruschetta with this bread already coming to your table! We shared the over roasted veggies and they were delicious. My husband's trout was delicious, and my lobster and shrimp tortelloni was absolutely wonderful. We shared some truffle fries, which were good, but not really necessary. We passed on desserts, as they were nothing to write home about. It is a hotel restaurant, but the food was very good. We were able to get to our show with no problem.
I ordered the $32, filet and it was about the size of my Android Cell phone. It was so small, the whole table laughed at it, we really thought we were being 'punked.' I ordered fingerling potatoes to go with it and it was just ok. Not a place I will think about going back to. Sorry guys!
I took my wife here for Valentine's Day and we had a marvelous time. The warm bread and olive oil was wonderful, as was the crab cake appetizer. We both ordered pasta (fettucini and rigatoni) and both dishes were very good. They had a touch of spiciness to them that really made them wonderful. We were not at all in a hurry this night, so the rather slow service didn't bother us at all. However, on any other evening I might have been wondering what was taking so long for my food to come out, and they weren't that busy - plenty of open tables. Lastly, their prices were a bit high, but it was very good food, very nice atmosphere, and plenty of free parking. We'll certainly go back.
This place was great. I planned a surprise dinner for my Wife to wish her good luck on an interview the next day and they were very accommodating. I had flowers sent to the restaurant and they had it on our table when we were sat. Then almost every employee we saw went out of their way to come by our table and wish her good luck on her interview. The food was so good I had to ask them to send the head chef out so I could tell him how great it was. Would recommend to my best of friends and worst of enemies!
When we first arrived, the host tried to sit us in a table that jutted halfway out into the lobby. Not quite the setting we were looking for. Our poor waitress arrived and we found out that she was the only server AND runner in the place. Everyone else had been sent home for the evening. At 6:00 on a Sunday. Yeah. Once our food started arriving, it was a mixed bag. The caprice salad had some of the worst mozzarella I had every tasted on it ( it could have passed for ricatta ) but the portabello pizza was fairly decent. The entrees were executed fairly well, but some of them were quite bland. I guess this place thinks they get a free pass since they are in a luxury hotel. Medici could be a wonderful restaurant with a little extra work.
Although we are normally greeted by a friendly host that refers to us by name, we were hurried to our table by a less than friendly hostess. The restaurant was empty and we were sat at a table that had crumbs on the bench and a table that was not completely set.
The server came by seldom. The food was good but not outstanding. The atmosphere was boring. Not because of the decorations or the theme of the restaurant but we were literally the only people in the restaurant at 7:00 pm.
Not sure if I will give this one another chance. Maybe on a weekend.
Showed up at the restaurant at 6:00 on a weeknight so didn't get a real crowd effect but the staff was very friendly. The Sea Bass was absolutely delicious and my friend devoured his Lamb Chops. Very pleased with the overall experience and would be happy to return.
This restaurant is conveniently located to Cobb Energy Center, so we went prior to the opera. The biggest disappointment was the food. My partner ordered a tortellini entree, which came swimming in a buttery sauce, and the tortellinis fell apart before he could even lift them out of the plate. The risotto with my entree came overcooked and mushy. The food was not worth the price. The atmosphere and service was nice, though, and if they improve the food this would be a nice place to go before a show at Cobb Energy Center.
My wife and I went to Medici last year for our anniversary and had such an enjoyable experience we went back again. The atmosphere was great. It is a very beautiful restaurant!
They have the most extensive wine list I have ever seen. My wife said we even had the same waitress we had last year. Valet parking is available if desired. They had a special Valentines dinner last year. Because of their brunch special this year they didn't offer it. I think Medici will be our Valentine anniversary restaurant from now on.
This is a great place to taker a client for a nice lunch to discuss business. The food was very good, the noise was low and the service was excellent. The menu is not extensive, but is certainly adequate for a lunch. This was my first visit and I will go back.
Waitress was polite but she was the only one for the whole restaurant so service was very slow. Waited on check for 15 minutes because she was attending other tables. I would not recommend the lobster ravioli. It tasted like they poured sugar over it. I expected the food to be better. Also, the online menue is outdated. About half of the items are not on the actual menue. This dinner was for my wife and mines 20th anniversary and I wish we had chosen another place to eat. Hotel was wonderful. I would recommend staying there but walk across the street to eat.
