Stoney River Steakhouse and Grill - Atlanta
Valet parking available.
Very nice addition to a very nice hotel. Not very busy when we were there, but everyone was super friendly and the food was excellent
I really can't review this restaurant. I gave it average ratings, because you have to enter something. But, I can't say it is "Good", "Poor", or "Outstanding." We didn't get to eat there.
I've heard terrific things about Medici. But, I booked online for a Sunday evening, when I found myself in Atlanta after a Braves game looking for a great place to eat. The restaurant permitted the reservation to be booked and it was confirmed through OpenTable. The OpenTable site showed in Medici's profile that it was open for dinner on Sunday evening. But, when we arrived at the restaurant, it was closed and we learned it wasn't open for dinner Sunday evening. It was not a real problem, we ate at the hotel bar next door and were given the opportunity to order from the restaurant's menu, since they apparently handle the in room dining for the hotel that it is in and their kitchen was open. We didn't eat at Medici though, despite booking through the OpenTable site. I think someone should look at the settings they set on booking.
The restaurant was completely empty and no one was at the front desk to seat us. We left and ate elsewhere.
There's something really wrong here: we booked the reservation on Open Table but it booked us at "Cumberland Parkway" in Cobb County (where, by the way, we were told by the owner of Medici, 999 Peachtree Street, there is no other Medici restaurant). This was a bust. We ended up going to a different restaurant altogether.
very disappointing, we could have many events there but would not based on
Perfect for pre opera dinner. Excellent food and service with time to spare before show.
Excellent, look forward to returning. Chef came out to make sure everything was to our satisfaction.
Medici is the main restaurant in very popular hotel in suburban Atlanta . It always tries hard to please ,but seems to always fall short . Hotel restaurants need to be exceptional to survive and attract more than the convention crowd.
Always greeted with a friendly smile , the staff is there to please. Menu choices pretty typical , food preparation and taste about the same. Burgers, steaks and chops are the best choices.
If it is raining outside,I would say, bring your umbrella and take an Uber . Many choices very near the hotel.
Chicken pasta was dry. Its a really nice place but it'd be nice to have a larger menu. I would go back but only for drinks. Overall we had a good Valentine's.
Food was good, but the menu was very basic. Wine list was good but also limited. Given that the bar opens right in to the restaurant, it was very loud and limited the "romantic ambiance" of our Valentine's dinner.
It's one of the nicer places close to the ISU campus but the food is just ok. It's not horrible but not fabulous. We've been there multiple times because of the location. The gouda mac and cheese is usually pretty good but this time there was no smokey gouda flavor, just tasted like regular mac and cheese. The pub fare and burgers are pretty good. Don't get the fish (salmon or talapia), it's fishy tasting. It's not easy to eat healthy there but the spaghetti squash bolognese was pretty good.
Food was fair-good. But bill came to $110 for two entrees (salmon and sirloin steak cooked medium, not medium rare as ordered), two glasses of wine, and two cups of stale coffee (once fresh was requested, was much better... but they shouldn’t serve stale coffee for $3/cup).
Hot crusty bread & olive oil w Parmesan-Delicious
Wine-Bottles are overpriced at 3x retail
Sirloin Steak w truffle fries-Fair. Overcooked, not especially flavorful, steak and tasty, but soggy, fries
Salmon with Brussel sprouts-hit of meal. Crispy skin w delicious veggies
Coffee-Stale until I requested fresh which was good. But I shouldn’t have to ask for fresh, not at $3.00/cup
Went there because convenient to opera. Just plain overpriced for mostly fair food. In fairness, salmon was perfectly cooked, but not a reason to return.
My husband and I went here to celebrate our birthday days. The staff treated us so kindly. We felt like Barak and Michelle Obama. We plan to come back soon.
Booked on open table after traveling for hours only to find this hotel restaurant wasn't even OPEN! Total disaster!
I truly appreciated the chef and server's attention to detail. They were exceptionally accommodating based on my food allergies.
The food was excellent especially the Jerk pork chops. The drinks are wonderful as well. We had the shrimp cocktail with tiger shrimp and the French Onion soup both were excellent. I highly recommend this restaurant.
Medici in name and listing is an Italian restaurant, right? The menu might suggest otherwise... not much to choose from. I ordered a chicken and pasta dish of which I can only describe as dry: the meat was dry, there was very little sauce.
Valet parking was $10 if you made it in & out in 2 hours, which I didn't... free self-park option available.
We waited for an hour and 10mminutes for our salads followed in 10 minutes by entres and One in our party of 7 didn't get served until everyone else was done. We were given a 10% discount which should have been given to us anyway because we were there for a conference which they knew!
Nice restaurant inside a hotel. While it was a little pricey because it is inside the hotel I found the value to be ok. Meaning I didn't feel like I was really overpaying "that much". Not your typical Italian restaurant. I'm had the filet and it was better than I expected.
The food is fresh and fabulous. Unbelievably good for a hotel. Great service.
We wanted a meal before an opera at the Cobb Energy Center. We got there before 6pm, told the staff we had a curtain to make. Took forever to place a very simple order, forever for it to arrive. Forever to get check, forever to get out of restaurant. Oh, and there were very few other diners in this huge restaurant. Barely made it by curtain time, only because of proximity.
Maybe it would be ok if you were staying at the hotel and just hanging out....
Our server Lizette was TOTALLY AWESOME!!!
Excellent Cesar salad and chicken dish. The wine was good. Bread was fantastic. The gelato was not very good.
Not worth the money. We went there before our concert at the Cobb Energy, as it's very close by. I expected a more elegant ambiance, service and menu options for the price. The menu only had 4 options and were listed on a sticky physic covered paper. And as for service, the waitress have no class. You are treated like you are at a cheap chain restaurant but you're paying just like you would at a 5 star restaurant! Disappointing!
This is the closest quality restaurant to the Cobb Energy Center. You can dine and leave your car there during the show.
The lamb chops were cooked just right and delicious. The brussell sprouts were excellent. The whole meal was enjoyable as was our server. She was pleasant and very attentive. Would go back again.
Great hostess great service great location
Food was delivered quickly ....the entire staff anticipated our needs
Food was great. Service was wonderful.
We tried Medici before going to the opera - not too many people were dining there - to be specific there were two other tables there when we were there. Service was slow and terrible. It is in a hotel, which is fine, we were welcomed by the manager and he walked us back to the restaurant. The food was very good. Everyone enjoyed their meals. The corking fee was minimal - we brought our own bottle of wine with us. Service was so slow and inattentive, we had to find the hostess to pay our bill and make it out in time to get to the opera. Would have loved to have found a new place for pre opera dinner and due to the service this is not it.
The people here are very nice, but that only goes so far. First, there was no host when we arrived so we had to wait 10 minutes to be seated for our reservation. I normally don't mid waiting if it is full, but this place was empty. Then we had to ask for waters not once, but twice while we were deciding on our wine. We ordered a bottle of wine and it took 20 minutes to show up. Once we finally ordered, it took roughly 40 minutes to get our food. When the food finally did arrive, my fiance's order was wrong. Not like they messed up a specific request, they brought her the entire wrong entree. They didn't refill our waters once during the entire meal. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
Good food in a quiet space
Good find! I took a customer to dinner and was very happy with the food and service! Will definitely go back.
The food was delicious and good portion size. Just enough food to fill your belly and no leftovers. Very close to Cobb Energy makes it easy to have a meal before the show. The chicken was cooked to perfection. The roasted pepper and shrimp soup was delicious. The bar is combined with the restaurant so it can be a little loud at times. The bathrooms are actually located in the lobby of hotel, be sure to go before dinner they are not conveniently located. We had a very nice dinner, thank you Medici.
This was a gem you would not expect to find in a hotel. The wait staff was wonderful and the food was amazing. I would def. come back here again for a nice romantic evening
Most listings for restaurants on your site clearly indicate if a restaurant is within a hotel. This listing did not. I was very disappointed to get to the restaurant and find it is in the Renaissance Hotel. In addition the location on the map did not correctly show this restaurant was within the hotel.
I travel often and if possible avoid eating in the hotel restaurant. It was the very last place I would have chosen to take my wife for a Valentine's celebration meal. Your listing is very misleading!
Service extremely slow . Entree portions small and not good value for cost . Not sure I would try this restaurant again
They should be closed on Christmas, if they don't intend on serving the regular menu that is posted online. The whole experience was just weird. The hotel was hosting a religious convention where we had to walk though groups of these conventions goers to get to the restaurant, which kinda made things awkward from the get go.
It was Christmas, and not much else was open for lunch/dinner. The menu was limited to burgers and salads. NO PASTA dishes at all, no bar service due to county holiday regulations. Only 1 server for about 4 tables in the whole place. We ordered 2 pricey burgers and a mahi mahi sandwich which took over 30 minutes to get the food. The food was bland and unappealing. It was almost like they were forced to be open by the hotel and the chefs had the day off. Too bad, I really wanted to try this place. Guess if your a guest of the hotel and don't know the area on Christmas day, it'll do.
Nicole and Gilbert took great care of my wife and I during our recent dining experience; the conversation was more than in-passing and we tryly enjoyed their company! Our dishes were prepared just right and they were delicious. The entree prices are reasonable for the ATL metro area. We're headed back again this FRI.
Nice selection of entrees and appetizers. Reasonably priced.
We went before the opera last year and had a good experience so went back last weekend. Not so much this time. Several notes for the server:
1. I don't care how overpriced the $19 no meat Caesar salad is; we are NOT on a first name basis the moment we sit down.
2. For God's sake, don't tell me if your bread is frozen and being defrosted and that's why it comes after my five tiny scarily colored ravioli with unidentifiable minced seafood inside (if there was any shrimp or lobster in that I'll eat the plate next time).
3. Ditto #2 if your coffee comes at the push of a button.
4. This is an Italian restaurant and all your wines are from California? And you don't know that Montepulciano is a varietal and not a wine maker? Seriously?
I mean, if you just want a decent place near Cobb Energy Center or you happen to be staying at the hotel Medici is in or you don't mind the adjoining bar and its Malcolm Gladwell lookalike DJ playing bad 70s music, then by all means, knock yourself out. Otherwise, plan ahead and go farther afield, because Medici just isn't worth it.
