Medi Wine Bar is an inviting space offering Pan Mediterranean cuisine, a wide selection of wines from the region, combined with unparalleled service.
Medi's rich food menu includes small plates, such as Bites, Mezzes, and Tapas, as well as main plates complimented with some of the best valued wines that the Mediterranean region has to offer. Food ideas are based on the different areas of the Mediterranean cuisine and are presented in simple but creative ways.
Taking advantage of the luxury that NYC has to offer when it comes to fresh produce and food supply, Medi will bring out of its open kitchen a seasonal menu that will include some of the most simple but yet very interesting creations that will fit the concept.
The Space has an Open Kitchen, Large Bar and Dining Area, Outdoors Garden, and Wine Cellar. Rooms are ready for private events separately or combined.

Except that the restaurant did not seem to be prepared for our reservation (seemed to be that they did not have it), the staff was friendly and service was good. The basement is a little cramped and there are a lot of plates and other service items stored all over the place, including behind us as diners.

I first stumbled upon Medi a couple of years back when my husband and I were looking for a pre-theater dinner. It's become my favorite place in the theater district. The food, a combination of Mediterranean influences, is consistently excellent, and the staff, mostly from the Balkans is attentive and fun (special kudos to Kush!). The noise level can get a bit high; on a recent visit with a friend who's a bit hard of hearing, I asked to be seated downstairs, and for most of the meal (from 6 to 7 pm on a Saturday night) the sound level was reasonable. The $35 pre-theater prix fixe I had first discovered is now $45, but it's still a bargain; on the recent visit I started with a mixed dipping tray with baba ghanoush, hummus and red pepper spread, followed by duck on risotto with blueberry and mushroom, and panna cotta for dessert. Add the Slovenian white wine I always get at Medi, and Kush as our waiter, and it couldn't have been better. Also check out the back yard garden in warmer weather, and be aware you can get just appetizers and do just fine.

The sangria was the worst ever. The food was bland. The homemade pasta was horrible. There were alot of servers & barely any customers...i stood by the door to be seated since I made a reservation, but nobody helped me so I sat where I wanted. Just over priced for the quality

party of 2: LOVED the trio of bites to start, and the pappardelle, yum. glass of tempranillo was delicious. but the gnocchi was undercooked and tasted like raw flour (my spouse told our server; he was gracious and quickly got her a replacement. we didn't have the hearts to tell him the 2nd gnocchi was just as underdone as the first). that aside, i'd be open to another visit for the lovely ambiance and a yummy meal, just at a further table from the open kitchen: we were sitting right near it and left smelling of cooked food, and that was not pleasant at all.

It was really pretty inside and nice atmosphere, but the food was just ok. The dessert was really disappointing - not the best ice cream and those pre-made chocolate soufflés - just really not worth $12 each, in my opinion. But the restaurant itself was very pretty with candle light and very low noise level.

The gnocchi is unbeatable. Absolutely delicious - cannot speak highly enough of the gnocchi. We also had the burrata which was very good, and a melted cheese appetizer special that was incredible. The service was great, he gave great recommendations on the wine. I recommend ordering a bunch of smaller plates for the table. Will definitely return here, just for the gnocchi!!!

Good pre fix meal options for pre show dinner. Food was simply prepared with lots of flavor. Not too loud so you could have a conversation. Waiter was a bit distracted but overall a great experience.

Wonderful atmosphere and welcoming vibe. Strong wine list pulling from a variety of Mediterranean vineyards. Cuisine is equally as strong with a nice balance of seafood and vegetable-based dishes with super-fresh pasta. RJ was a wonderful host.

Overall a lovely experience, the kind of waitstaff that gives you space, but is also very attentive. Our waiter gave a wonderful wine recommendation. The food was lovely, I especially enjoyed the gnocchi and panna cotta. It was a lovely restaurant to start off the new year and my birthday. Will dine again!

We had much faster service than we expected to have for a fine dining restaurant, and it was a bit unsettling. I allocated 3 hours for dinner, anticipating the cooks would spend quality time on food reparations. We had 4 people waiting on us and checking on us every 5 minutes, which is atypical in fine dining. We ate everything within an hour. We asked for them to slow down on the food preparation, but they had put it in way ahead. We felt like we were being rushed out of there. However, after we finished dessert, they left us alone, gave us all the time in the world, and even asked if I wanted coffee. Why couldn’t that speed have been present during dinner? The restaurant was barely half full too! Every bite of food we had was outstanding. I do plan on coming back! While I don’t like to feel rushed while I’m eating, it’s good to know of a fine dining restaurant that is considerate of other festivities their guests may have!

Was there at Happy Hour. Menu says there are certain bottles of wine you can order at a discount. Made sure with the waiter this was true, he asked his manager, he came back and said yes, we could get the discount, I made sure of the exact price, and that we could sit at a table. We then ordered food and all together 2 bottles of wine during the Happy Hour. Got the bill, and we were charged the full price for each bottle, when I asked the waiter, he said , uhhhh, well that's what they charge now, they raised the price. No, it was the full price listed on the menu. Not good.

Delicious, great service, beautiful ambiance. We have been here in the summer in their lovely outside garden area, but this was cozy, warm and invited for our table of 8. A really lovely dining experience, and not so expensive considering all they offer.

We decided to try Medi because of the variety on their menu...we wanted a little bit of everything.
The restaurant was PACKED (we made reservations) & our server was very busy but very personable & attentive.
We ordered 1/2 dozen oysters, the lamb chops & the single Ravioli with ricotta & the egg inside. All of the food was EXCELLENT!!! The lamp chops were cooked perfectly & the tzaziki sauce that came with them was amazing!
The single Ravioli with the ricotta & egg has been on my bucket list of things to try at a restaurant & I was not disappointed! The flavor was incredible...so many layers of flavor!!
The restaurant itself is very cozy...a great date spot. The only thing that we weren’t crazy about was that it was incredibly hot inside the restaurant but with so many people inside, I can see how it would be warm!

Food was outstanding! Love the downstairs room -- cozy/cool -- but the lower level was insanely HOT and that distracted from enjoying our meal/drinks...we all shed all the layers we could and were still sweating. But aside from the heat (after we talked to manager they propped a door open and that helped) our meal and the service was excellent. Will return!

I love this place, but usually, I go when the weather is better and I dine in the very pleasant garden area. The indoor pace upstairs is soooooooo crowded and noisy that it detracted from the fine meal. The downstairs area is nice but too claustrophobic for me.

My friend and I dined here during the week. The waiting staff are really nice the food is average to bad. The restaurant next door called Westville is / was packed. To me this place has a nice bar but the food is not good and the wine we got had a lot of sediment in it (not good). I can see why so few people go there.

Went to Medi with a group of 6 (2 other couples in town from Texas) after having dinner at Giordano 54 and learning the two restaurants are connected (legally and physically as their outdoor areas are contiguous).

We were seated immediately at a great area in the basement, near their live music. The wait staff was attentive, and turned out included Phillipe who had been our server at Giordano 54. We had a couple of bottle of Muriel wine that were fabulous, and the different dishes (my wife had the Branzino) and I had the hanger steak. Both were excellent. Our friends all relished their meals as well.

Needed to grab a quick bite before seeing a late jazz set at Dizzy’s Club. The charcuterie was one of the best we’ve ever had and the lamb Kafka was great as well. Great service got us out in time. All in all - awesome!
